Chapter 284: Chapter281-Soak Your Feet in Iron Cub Spring Water? That’s Insanely Wasteful!
The middle-aged man grumbled silently in his heart, but on the surface, he spoke respectfully, “That’s right. I know Lord Velen. Now that you’re following him, I don’t have to watch over you anymore. The clan leader and I will wait for you back home.”
After saying that, the man gave Karos a wink, turned around, and flew off, vanishing quickly from both Karos and Velen’s view.
“He’s gone? Just like that?”
Karos stood frozen, momentarily stunned.
“Hell yeah! No one’s watching me anymore! I’m finally free from this extravagant-spending torture!”
Snapping out of it, Karos cheered with glee and looked at Velen with gratitude in his eyes.
If it weren’t for Velen, who knows how much longer he’d have had to endure this madness!
Velen smiled faintly at Karos’s excitement.
He didn’t have the heart to tell Karos the truth—that the real era of wasteful luxury was only just beginning.
“Lord Velen, where are you heading?” Karos asked, now full of enthusiasm. “Since Uncle Ally said I should follow you, I’ll go wherever you go.”
“I’m not going anywhere specific. Got any ideas for a fun place?” Velen asked in return.
“A fun place?” Karos thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up. “Lord Velen, I’ve got a friend who’s a total tycoon. How about we go visit him?”
He had a playful glint in his eyes as he spoke.
His friend’s family was like his own—one of those ultra-powerful, reclusive clans hiding throughout the universe.
Such hidden tycoon families weren’t rare in this universe.
While Karos hated living the life of extravagant waste, his friend thrived on it. The guy was practically the embodiment of reckless wealth.
“Oh? And where might this friend of yours be?” Velen’s eyes lit up.
He hadn’t expected to stumble upon another tycoon lead this quickly.
“He’s not on Uranus Star,” Karos replied. “It’ll take some time to get there.”
At that moment, Velen casually tossed Karos a palm-sized item—a Spatial Portal.
Karos’s pupils contracted as he stared at it in disbelief.
“Lord Velen… you don’t seriously intend to use this Spatial Portal just for travel, do you?”
“Of course. Is there a problem?” Velen looked at him, puzzled.
“Lord Velen, this thing is a strategic-level resource! We’re not in a rush. If we use a flight artifact, we can get there in under a month.”
Karos clutched the Spatial Portal, nearly sobbing.
That was two Spatial Portals being used just for a trip. Who does that?!
“A whole month?” Velen raised an eyebrow. “I might be an Ascended by then.”
He urged Karos to activate the portal, and even shoved a Tier-Nine flight artifact into his hands.
“What the hell! Time’s the one thing we have plenty of!”
“A single month, and you’re burning two Spatial Portals for convenience?”

Karos trudged reluctantly into the glowing Spatial Rift, heart bleeding with every step.
Provan Kingdom, Planet Diven.
At the center of the planet stood a majestic luxury castle.
When the Spatial Rift appeared above it, the powerful experts within the castle immediately flew to the skies and focused their gazes upward.
Karos stepped out of the rift.
Seeing him, the assembled elders and guards smiled approvingly.
Not bad. The kid finally gets it.
“Young Master Karos, so you’ve finally decided to indulge in some proper tycoon-level extravagance. We’ve never seen you use a Spatial Portal before,” chuckled a gray-robed elder as he descended.
“Stop teasing me. Oh, and my friend’s arriving too,” Karos said, pulling out Velen’s Tier-Nine flight artifact.
“Got it. You two enjoy yourselves. Kendrix is inside resting—I won’t disturb you.”
The elder nodded and soared into the sky. The rest of the guards and elders followed, leaving the courtyard silent once more.
“Karos! You’re here!”
A voice filled with delight rang from inside the residence.
A plump young man with a round face and bright eyes rushed out with a joyful grin.
“Kendrix! I swear, the last two months have been nothing short of torture,” Karos groaned. “But now I’ve got a friend who’s a real tycoon. When he gets here, you show him what true extravagance looks like, alright?”
Karos sounded unsure of himself.
After witnessing Velen’s brand of luxury earlier, he was seriously concerned that Kendrix might not be able to keep up.
On the other side, just before activating the portal, Velen contacted the system.
“System, how many luxury points are we talking for completing this ‘super extravagant tycoon mission’?”
Ding! Upon completion, Host will receive enough luxury points to ascend directly to the next tier!
“Enough to ascend? Couldn’t you just say it’ll push me into the upper plane universe?”
Velen rolled his eyes. The system’s roundabout wording always gave him a headache.
Ding! Reminder: The current universe is the lowest-tier plane. If Host stays too long here, not even the official tycoon guards—nor their reserve forces—will bother to show up.
Recommendation: Host should speed up ascension.
Velen sighed helplessly. “Come on, I’ve only been here two or three months. Isn’t that fast enough?”
Ding! Reminder: The upper plane universe is way more fun. Host will enjoy his time there far more.
Hearing that, Velen’s eyes lit up in anticipation.
“Alright then. Let’s get to it. System, contact The One-Eyed and Etenny. Tell them to intensify training. Everyone’s power needs to rise faster—but make sure their foundation stays solid.”
With that command, Velen stepped into the Spatial Rift.
Provan Kingdom, Planet Diven.
As the rift appeared again in the sky above the estate, Karos and Kendrix looked up.
“Lord Velen, you’ve arrived!” Karos waved excitedly as Velen descended on the Tier-Nine flight artifact.
“Lord Velen, this is my friend Kendrix. Kendrix, this is Lord Velen,” Karos introduced them to each other.
“Any friend of Karos is a friend of mine. Come in, come in!” Kendrix said with a cheerful smile.
Inside the house.
“Kendrix, about this water…” Velen began, looking at the jug on the table.
Before he could finish, Kendrix puffed out his chest proudly and said, “Lord Velen, this is White Flame Tear—a single pot of this costs 10,000 advanced mana crystals!”
Velen blinked. He was actually going to say it didn’t taste great.
But seeing how Kendrix was proudly showing it off, he held his tongue.
Sigh! I overestimated Lord Velen, Karos thought.
Seeing Velen stunned into silence over a jug of expensive water, he realized his earlier worries were likely overblown.
“What are you sighing for?” Velen asked in confusion.
Moments later…
“Lord Velen… it’s not even evening yet. Why are you preparing footbaths?”
Karos asked, puzzled, as Velen pulled out three large basins from his spatial ring.
“Karos, shut your mouth!” Kendrix suddenly yelled, eyes locked on the basins.
Basins… made from Astral Aurum Stone!
And not just any Astral Aurum—the patterns etched into the surface made it clear this was stone aged over five thousand years!
Kendrix felt like his soul was leaving his body.
Using such rare star-forged materials just to make footbaths—this level of extravagance was insane!
Then it happened.
Velen took out a small wooden barrel and began pouring Iron Cub Spring Water into the basins.
Kendrix nearly had a heart attack.
Iron Cub Spring Water!
Even among high-spending clans, this was considered a treasure!
And this man was using it to soak his feet?!
Even if Kendrix had inherited the entire family estate, he wouldn’t dare pull such a stunt!
If he tried, his family would probably break his legs.
