Chapter 41: Chapter41-My First Mentee
A voice full of authority came from not far away. Shortly after, a curvaceous woman with a pear-shaped figure approached slowly, her eyes coldly fixed on Velen.
“Ten million advanced mana stones? Even if you sold the entire House of von Michelstein, you wouldn’t be able to gather that much. Kid, your words are far too arrogant.”
“Mentor!”
Seeing the newcomer, Belle’s face immediately showed a hint of respect.
Looking at the defiant woman, Velen shook his head slightly and said, “The universe is vast, full of wonders. Just because you don’t have ten million advanced mana stones doesn’t mean others can’t. That logic doesn’t hold up, does it?”
The woman chuckled coldly and said, “I’m the headmaster of Celestia Academy. Across all galaxies, few forces can take out tens of thousands of advanced mana stones at once. And you, an Apprentice Rank level 9 awakener, think you can?”
Seeing the conflict brewing between her mentor and Velen, Belle immediately tried to mediate. “Velen, my mentor is a pragmatic person who doesn’t like people who boast. Maybe tone it down a bit?”
“I’m only speaking the truth. Your mentor’s vision is far too narrow. I suggest you leave this so-called Celestia Academy. It’s clearly not worth much!” Velen’s tone turned cold, clearly displeased with the headmaster’s attitude.
Feeling belittled, Caitlin sneered, “Big words. If you have the ability, show me ten million advanced mana stones. Let me see it with my own eyes.”
Velen laughed in exasperation and stared at her. “If I really show it to you, what then?”
Caitlin snorted. “If you can actually produce that many advanced mana stones, I’ll become your mentee and give you an even more prestigious title. How about that?”
“Deal!” Velen glanced at Belle. “Your mentor is so full of herself. Today, I’ll give her a proper lesson!”
With that, Velen pulled a storage pouch from his pocket.
“These ten million advanced mana stones are my welcome gift to you, my first mentee. Take them.”
“Congratulations, host, for successfully flaunting wealth. Reward: 10 Starry Stones, 100 drops of dragon blood, and 5 class upgrade books (limited to the swordman class).”
Hearing the system’s notification, Velen was quite pleased. Someone dared to boast in front of him, the ultimate tycoon? They needed to be shown their place!
At that moment, Caitlin’s breath caught as she looked at the storage pouch Velen handed over.
What did she see?
Inside the pouch were advanced mana stones stacked neatly, like towering walls!
With just one glance, she was certain.
The advanced mana stones in this pouch totaled no less than ten million!
This man had actually produced ten million advanced mana stones!
It was well-known that even with the Celestia Academy’s millennia of accumulated resources, their total advanced mana stones barely reached a million.
After all, most advanced mana stones came from the Singularity Battlefield, and acquiring them was incredibly difficult.
To purchase advanced mana stones, one couldn’t simply use gold coins or ordinary mana stones—they had to trade exceptionally rare resources, and even then, few were willing to part with them!
“How… how can you possibly have so many advanced mana stones?!”
Even after confirming the contents of the pouch, Caitlin couldn’t believe it was real.
Celestia Academy spanned several galaxies, a colossal entity far more powerful than the House of von Michelstein. Even they couldn’t produce ten million advanced mana stones!
And yet, Velen, a mere Apprentice Rank level 9 awakener, had them. How?

Seeing Caitlin’s disbelief, Velen replied calmly, “I told you, the universe is vast, and there’s much you haven’t seen.”
“Besides these advanced mana stones, let me show you a few other treasures.”
As he spoke, Velen revealed a Starry Stone, some dragon blood, and an Afterlife Flower.
Caitlin’s eyes widened in shock at the sight of these rare treasures.
The Starry Stone was already an incredibly precious forging material, and Velen had fifteen of them!
The dragon blood radiated an overwhelming draconic pressure, and Velen had over two hundred drops!
How many dragons had to be slain to extract so much dragon blood?
Then there was the Afterlife Flower—a treasure considered a second life for Ascended Rank awakeners. Many would go to any lengths to obtain just one.
Any one of these items could cause a galaxy-wide commotion, yet Velen had them all in abundance!
As Caitlin stared in stunned silence at the dazzling array of treasures, Velen pulled out five books emitting a sharp aura.
“Right, these are called class upgrade books. They can significantly enhance class experience. You’ve probably never seen one before, have you?”
With that, Velen absorbed one of the class upgrade books.
Instantly, the aura of judgment around him surged violently.
Above his head appeared an angel wielding a pure white longsword, radiating infinite light. The brilliance illuminated everything around them in pure white.
Grand Swordman!
Seeing this phenomenon, both Caitlin and Belle were left speechless, their mouths agape.
They had sensed Velen’s aura earlier and knew he was just a newly initiated swordman.
But now, with just one class upgrade book, he had instantly advanced an entire rank, becoming a grand swordman!
This was utterly unheard of—nothing like this had ever happened before!
Velen’s depth and resources were beyond their comprehension.
Caitlin’s expression grew complicated. Though she didn’t want to admit it, the treasures Velen had displayed far exceeded her understanding.
Her knowledge truly seemed shallow by comparison.
After a moment of internal struggle, Caitlin sighed softly and said with some reluctance, “Today, I was in the wrong. From now on, you’ll be my mentor. However, this is unrelated to the academy—it’s a personal matter.”
With that, she placed her left hand on her chest and bowed deeply to Velen at a perfect ninety-degree angle, performing a formal mentee’s salute.
After roaming the universe for so many years, Caitlin never expected that today she would end up bowing to someone like Velen, an Apprentice Rank awakener!
Her new mentor was truly unfathomable!
How could this happen?!
Seeing this, Belle felt her mind go blank.
Just moments ago, she and Velen were peers. Now, she was two levels below him!
Her mentor had become Velen’s mentee, which meant… Velen was now her mentor?
Turning to look at Velen, Belle suddenly didn’t know how to face him anymore.
“Congratulations, host, on acquiring your first mentee. Rewards: 100 Delirium Petals, 100 Wraithwoods, 100 bottles of Soul Potion, and 100 Netherbone Pearls.”
“As a tycoon, your mentees must also flaunt wealth to the fullest. When your mentees flaunt wealth successfully, the host will also receive rewards!”
Hearing the system’s notification, Velen was delighted.
He hadn’t expected that taking on mentees would yield rewards and that when his mentees flaunted wealth, he would benefit as well!
This system was truly something he had underestimated!
Quickly, Velen turned his attention to the system’s rewards.
He didn’t recognize any of the items.
However, judging by their names, they seemed far from ordinary and likely had dark or sinister properties—completely opposite to the light-based attributes of Celestia Academy.
“By the way, do you recognize this?”
Velen asked as he took out a Delirium Petal from the system space.
The Delirium Petal looked like it bore a twisted human face on its surface. Just looking at it brought eerie wailing sounds to their ears.
“Delirium Petal?!”
Seeing the strange flower in Velen’s hand, both Caitlin and Belle gasped in shock, their eyes widening.
As members of Celestia Academy, they were naturally familiar with such dark artifacts.
After all, Celestia Academy specialized in purifying corruption to enhance their power. The more sinister the artifact, the greater the potential boost to their abilities.
It was said that Delirium Petals only grew in places where ancient deities had fallen. These evil flowers could distort the souls of those who saw them.
If purified with holy light, they could significantly strengthen their holy power!
Both women stared at Velen with intense excitement.
This was something they had always dreamed of obtaining!
Seeing their eager expressions, Velen realized that the system’s rewards were indeed extraordinary.
