Chapter 82: Chapter82-Velen’s Ruthless Plan
Whether or not they knew he was participating in Star Hunt didn’t matter.
As long as he wiped out all the resources on that planet, leaving only a small fraction for some lucky survivor to claim…
Then there would only be one first place.
And everyone else would be second place!
A perfect loophole to meet the system’s mission requirements!
Sure, this was borderline villainous, but hey—if they weren’t skilled enough to stop him, that was their problem!
A genius plan!
Velen was incredibly satisfied with himself.
His eyes sparkled with excitement as he turned toward Anastasia.
“Wife, I’m heading out with Senator Ethan for a few days—don’t worry about us!”
Before he could finish his sentence, Anastasia had already drawn her sword and pressed it against his throat.
“Say that again. I dare you.”
Her cold, piercing gaze sent a chill down Velen’s spine.
The others watching?
They didn’t take it seriously at all.
To them, this was just another day of witnessing their ‘romantic’ banter.
They fully believed that if anyone else had said that, Anastasia’s sword would’ve already sliced through their neck.
Velen felt the icy blade against his skin and quickly corrected himself.
“Ahem—Lord Anastasia, I’m just heading out with Senator Ethan to take care of some business…”
“Good.” Anastasia nodded immediately.
…Wait.
That’s it?
Velen blinked in disbelief.
She wasn’t even asking where he was going or what he was doing?!
That… that was too cold!
“Lord Anastasia, I may be just the vice-captain of Fortress, but I’m also your most trusted, closest aide.
“Shouldn’t you at least ask about my well-being?!”
Anastasia’s lips curved into a smirk.
“You’re an Independent Senator.
“I’m just a lowly Fortress Lord.

“How could I possibly interfere with your affairs?”
Velen: “…”
Damn it.
This was payback for how he bullied her earlier with his Senator status!
Anastasia never forgot a grudge.
Not long after, Velen packed up ten sets of 100,000 bottles of Bloodline Upgrade Potion, giving each person their own storage bag.
He reminded them to drink it like water before departing with Ethan.
The group stared helplessly at their storage bags.
From now on, meals were canceled—they were only drinking potions.
“Velen, where exactly are we going?”
Sitting on a special flying carpet, Ethan glanced at Velen curiously.
Velen ran his hands over the carpet’s fabric, intrigued.
“Senator Ethan, this thing is pretty special.
“It’s not just fast—it’s also really comfortable.
“What grade is it?”
He had seen many spaceships, but lightweight, high-speed flight artifacts like this were rare.
“This is a flight artifact I personally crafted.
“It can match the speed of starship fleets.
“Its advantage is miniaturization—you can power it with either mana or mana stones.
“The more mana you pour in, the faster it flies.
“But it burns through mana stones ridiculously fast.”
Hearing that, Velen’s interest only grew.
After all, he was swimming in mana stones!
“This flying carpet is just something I made casually—it’s only a Lv3 flight artifact.
“It’s not that fast.
“But as a Berserker, I usually just fly through space with my bare body—it’s faster and less hassle.”
Ethan explained proudly.
Velen raised a brow.
“Can this Lv3 artifact get us to Triad Sanctum within 7 days?”
Ethan’s eyes widened in shock.
“You want to go to Triad Sanctum?”
Charles was extremely dangerous, and Triad Sanctum was full of cutthroat assassins.
Their real combat power was likely stronger than Fortress at this stage.
Going there on purpose?
That was pure madness.
“You want to strike first to stop Charles from poisoning us, but…”
Before Ethan could finish, Velen cut him off.
“I just need to know—can we reach it in 7 days?”
Ethan hesitated, then sighed.
“If we only use the Lv3 artifact, 7 days won’t be enough—it’s too far away.
“But if I go full speed, only stopping at night to rest, we can make it in 6 days.”
“Good.”
Velen’s eyes gleamed.
“Then, Senator Ethan, I’ll have to trouble you…”
Ethan’s stomach dropped.
The way Velen was looking at him gave him a very bad feeling.
A few moments later…
Velen sat comfortably on the flying carpet, watching the galaxies blur past on both sides.
His smile was practically glowing.
“Not bad, not bad!
“This Lv3 flight artifact is still far slower than Master Ethan, though!”
Behind him—Ethan gritted his teeth.
Because right now, he was the ‘booster rocket’ pushing the carpet forward at full speed!
He, a dignified Ascended Rank Awakener, a Master Blacksmith, and a Berserker, was now acting as Velen’s personal jet engine!
This was utterly humiliating!
After ten exhausting hours, Ethan finally found a small planet where they could rest.
He knew Velen valued comfort and wasn’t about to fly nonstop.
Plus, the longer he stayed with Velen, the more benefits he might receive.
So… he wasn’t exactly in a hurry.
Velen checked into the most luxurious hotel on the planet.
As he lay on the soft, plush bed, he suddenly remembered something.
“Right, I have a mentee!”
Bloodline Upgrade Potions would definitely benefit Caitlin and Belle.
The sooner they took them, the better.
Without hesitation, he activated the System’s Teleportation feature.
“Locking onto Caitlin—descending!”
A brilliant golden light flashed.
Velen vanished from the hotel room.
The next moment…
White mist surrounded him.
A faint, fragrant aroma filled the air.
It only took him a second to realize—
“Wait… this is… a bathhouse?”
Through the hazy steam, he could see a stunningly curvy silhouette—
A naked woman bathing.
Before he could react—
“PERVERT!”
“YOU DISGUSTING FREAK!”
A furious shriek rang out.
Caitlin clutched her chest, rage burning in her eyes.
Her shout was so intense that it shattered the mist around them.
“Caitlin, wait! It’s not what it looks like!”
Velen instinctively tried to explain.
“I just wanted to help scrub your back!”
Caitlin’s face turned crimson with fury.
Her long, toned legs swung straight toward Velen’s crotch—
Aiming to kick him straight into the afterlife.
But at that moment—
A terrifying chill tore through space, freezing the entire bathhouse in an instant.
“Master, fear not!”
A booming voice echoed from the void.
A figure began emerging from a spatial rift—
A powerful guardian rushing to defend Velen.
“GET LOST!”
Before the figure could even step through,
Velen kicked him back into the rift.
“Understood, Master!”
The figure vanished immediately.
Caitlin sighed deeply, glaring at Velen.
“Mentor, can you at least warn me before teleporting next time?!”
Velen nodded furiously.
“Yes! Next time, I promise!”
…Though honestly, he felt like he’d already been ‘rewarded’ with a nice view.
Clearing his throat, he handed two storage bags to Caitlin.
“Each bag has 100,000 bottles of Bloodline Upgrade Potion.
“One for you, one for Belle.
“Make sure to drink all of them—it will greatly enhance your bloodlines.”
Caitlin finally smiled.
Her mentor might be unreliable at times…
But he truly cared for her.
