Chapter 226: Chapter 226- Auction House
“Khukkh! … y-you basta-rds—Bam!” A young man wearing tattered, noble clothes wiggled on the ground under the barrage of kicks landing on his body from all sides, his hands covering his head after noticing that several of his Qi points were sealed by the black-robed man who had taken his childhood friend away.
“You think you are any challenge to Senior Brother Rui Ke? How amusing!” Number 1 kicked Liu hard in the head while Number 3 did the same. Their boss had taken Number 2 to the hospital for injuries caused by this idiot.
“You dare to challenge Senior Brother Rui Ke with your insignificant strength!” Number 3 shouted as he swung his leg and delivered a heavy kick to Liu Wei’s gut.
‘Ugh! Just wait, Rui Ke. I will come back stronger and kill—?!’ Suddenly, Liu Wei felt a kick directly landing on his crotch area. “ARGHHH! MY EGGS!”

“What happened, Zhen’er?” Ryuk glanced at the woman walking beside him with weak steps, her ears perking up in the direction behind her after hearing a familiar voice.
“Forgive me, Young Master, but did you hear Liu’s voice just now?” Zhen’er inquired, looking at him while blinking. She tried to hear his words, as her eyes could only see darkness, due to her habit she momentarily blinked when nervous.
“Absolutely not, it was your imagination,” Ryuk said, arriving outside the back door of the auction house.
“Wait! Young Master, this is the back door. Please enter from the front,” a bulky, muscular man came forward, holding a spear. His eyes naturally analyzed the man wearing a black robe, noting his apparent wealth.
“Who is the owner of this place? Bring him to me,” Ryuk firmly stated, observing the subtle movements of several nearby individuals who appeared to be hidden bodyguards in case something went amiss.
Not that any of them could do much in this case.
“T-this?” Taken aback by such a firm voice, the man narrowed his eyes, looking in a certain direction, feeling conflicted.
This auction house was sponsored by one of the elders in the main city, making it impossible for someone from the upper or middle town to interfere and ask for the manager here due to their fear of the elder from the main city of Celestial Order.
“Young Master, can I see your family’s emblem?” The man’s voice turned stern as he looked at the Young Master, suspecting he might be a spy sent from the other side of Celestial Order.
“….Here,” Ryuk took out a green jade emblem with a red ribbon on its top and handed it to the man. The man’s brow furrowed as he looked between the emblem and the masked man.
“Wei family? The one from upper town? Forgive me, Young Master.” Seeing it belonged to one of the wealthy families from upper town, the man bowed and returned the emblem, taking a peek behind it before calmly returning it.
‘Wei?’ Zhen’er felt confused hearing the emblem’s family name, the same as Liu Wei’s surname, prompting her to wait for the other man to leave before inquiring about it.
“It’s fine. Now call the manager of this place,” Ryuk instructed, having already erased the marks behind the emblem.
These marks, made by a sense of Qi, led him to link things: the family emblem, Liu’s tattered noble clothes, and the marks made by someone of at least APEX rank.
It was easier to conclude that these marks were only given to those abandoned or banished by their family.
After reaching this conclusion, he used his own Ether to erase the marks and carved a phoenix instead, as he needed to hide the original marks. It was likely none of these people had seen the Wei family’s emblem before, considering that Liu Wei had chosen this town out of many others which made pheonix symbol unsuspecting of hiding some marks beneath.
In conclusion, Ryuk had secured the emblem in case of future trouble regarding his identity from Liu Wei.
He had already guessed that Liu Wei must have belonged to a rich family, given his dirty noble clothes and status as a son of heaven. The only remaining task was to use the emblem well to fool others and Zhen’er too.
He had no animosity towards her, nor did he know much about her, which is why he would most likely heal her eyes after completing his work and leaving this place.
After all, without Liu Wei, who would soon meet his fate, living by herself in this place would be hard for this girl.
“Please, this way,” the man glanced towards a shadow gesturing him to enter, causing him to move while offering both Ryuk and Zhen’er to follow.

“Y-young master, are you from the Wei family?” Zhen’er inquired, trying to understand the identity of this young master who had just revealed his emblem.
“Will you believe me if I told you that I did that to save you?” Ryuk glanced at the woman walking beside him while the others walked ahead, his hands behind his back, with a black mask and hat revealing only his amber eyes and skin.
“I-I…” Zhen’er’s confusion deepened, born from the fact that the men following this young master had told her to serve him.
“It’s fine. Let me first save these slaves,” Ryuk said, turning towards the direction from which he could sense several shadows hiding, watching his movements. He was well aware of their presence.
“What? Young master, you will just be wasting your money,” Zhen’er appreciated his kindness but knew it was futile to purchase slaves, thinking one is saving them.
The next day, others would join in. It was a cycle that could never be repaired.
“Who said I have money to waste?” Although Ryuk was in conversation with her, his mind had already analyzed the number of individuals present in the whole auction house, whether entering from the front or already inside.
“Enter this place, young master.” Arriving at the doors of a room, the man bowed before standing aside to make way for both Ryuk and Zhen’er to enter.
‘Three people,’ Ryuk noted, entering the room. A single chubby person was seated on a chair with a wooden desk in front, traditional paints and papers scattered around.
Two more presences were hidden behind the walls.
None of them posed much threat due to their weak power levels, but for now, he needed to handle something different as he directly took a seat on the chair.
“…How can I help you, young master?” The manager, a middle-aged man with a fat body, one eye patched, and wearing a unique robe belonging to merchants, observed both Ryuk and Zhen’er with narrowed eyes.
“I want some slaves,” Ryuk answered, tapping on the table with his eyes meeting the one-eyed man’s.
“What kind, young master? We have several varieties picked from different continents. Though they may seem weak, we also provide healing pills and rejuvenation ones at low costs,” the man smiled, clasping his hands together, detailing the quality of slaves present at that moment to the man who appeared rich giving his robe’s quality.
Ryuk kept looking at the man before his finger halted its tapping. With a calm voice, he demanded, “I want a slave from Heindal continent.”
