Chapter 25: Chapter 25 – Reason to Hate Olivia(2)
Drip…
The faint sound of crimson liquid dripping onto the floor tiles resonated within the room, where a man stood, his hands loosened and drenched in blood trickling from his fingertips.
“Didn’t you hear? Who are you?”
GASP
The entire chilling scene was abruptly disrupted by the man’s voice, his amber gaze fixated on the men, sweat beads tracing their cheeks, their horror palpable in their faces.
Among them, one with a hint of courage slowly controlled his quivering lips, whispering his last words, “Y-you, Tyra—”
SLICE
“Kuggghh!”
Suddenly struggling to breathe, he grasped his neck as a thin red line appeared, attempting to turn his head to face the figure responsible for his agony.
However, his head detached from his body, falling away. His last sight was a beautiful woman staring coldly at him.
THUD
The fallen head snapped the others out of their nightmarish trance, redirecting their gaze from those Amber eyes to a figure with fluttering ebony hair and dark black eyes.
A melodious voice emanated from figure’s lips.
“Didn’t you hear him?” Amayara’s cold, chilling voice sent shivers down their spines.
She stood with a sword unstained by a single drop of blood—proof of its swift motion that prevented any blood from touching it.
“M-monsters….Thud.”
With trembling voices, one of the two men stumbled to the floor, their gazes oscillating between the man with amber eyes and the woman, her ruthless demeanor contrasting with her beauty.
“Are you alright, Olivia?” Ryuk turned his gaze toward the woman with blonde hair and ruby eyes, inquiring about her well-being, which snapped her out of her dilemma.
“T-this, I am fine, Ryuk.” Feeling anxiety racing through his mind, she averted her gaze, her fear palpable.
Even with the wound, her mind was in turmoil, pondering ways to prevent these people from revealing the identity of the mastermind behind their infiltration to Ryuk.
“Y-You.” Narrowing his eyes, Ryuk observed Olivia’s body language.
Seeing her avoiding eye contact while biting her lips, his gaze turned cold, understanding that her behavior was not solely due to the pain from the wound.
“Amayara, use Memory Extraction on that man.” Ryuk pointed towards one of the men on the floor, causing Amayara to widen her eyes, comprehending the meaning behind his words.
Tap. Tap.
Slowly, Amayara’s legs moved toward the man, causing Olivia’s heart rate to spike with every step.
Gritting her teeth, she reached for a small ring in her hand, feeling as though everything was about to collapse. Her mind was a surge of emotions.
Beeeep~
Even with her poisoned and wounded body, she activated the artifact, emitting a faint sound, inaudible to normal humans but directly interfering with brainwaves.
The moment Amayara placed her hands on the man’s head and activated her mana…

His head exploded like a balloon.
The blood stains halted in mid-air, prevented from touching Amayara’s face by a blue energy that held them in place. She turned her gaze toward the direction of the energy.
“Did you know what you just did, Olivia?” Ryuk gestured with his hand, allowing the blood to fall to the floor while using his energy kinesis to create a dense mana field around another man, preventing him from succumbing to Olivia’s actions.
“I-I don’t understand what you mean—”
“Don’t be childish, Olivia!” Ryuk shouted, already feeling frustrated by her mistake of allowing outsiders to breach the Palace gates, already aware of her intentions in doing so.
“C-childish?” Hearing those words again, her mind snapped, causing her to push maids aside. “Move out of my way!”
Despite clutching her wounded stomach, her ruby eyes welled up as she looked at Ryuk’s amber one’s that seemed oblivious to her Sufferings like they always does.
“You don’t know a thing, Ryuk. How it feels to be forgotten…Uugh.” Her eyes, trying to hold back tears, let them flow down her cheeks, tracing a path to the floor as she continued, “You always make excuses of responsibilities while indulging with Alia and Amayara—”
“Olivia!” Ryuk’s anger surged at her apparent stupidity.
It was natural for Amayara to be by his side as his bodyguard, and Alia was her personal maid.
He couldn’t comprehend her mentality at all.
“Don’t shout at me, Ryuk Von Selvius,” she retorted, causing his eyes to widen at her change in tone.
Amayara, sensing the situation becoming critical, moved toward them. “Olivia, calm down—”
“Shut the hell up, you filthy commoner!” Olivia’s ruby eyes turned towards Amayara, who only narrowed her eyes, already accustomed to hearing such words on a daily basis and not finding them particularly offensive.
“Again, Olivia? Are you for real?” Ryuk rubbed his forehead, feeling fatigued by her daily dramas already sensing that the things were getting slightly frustrating now.
“T-this, why do you always get so irritated with me?” Hearing her words, he calmed his mind, looking at her and understanding the reason for her behavior.
However, she was not a child to act in such a manner. Trying to keep calm, he spoke softly, “Listen, Olivia, I hope you understand, as an Emperor—”
“Again with those excuses of responsibilities, it’s Bullshit.”
‘and She’s a princess,’ Even Amayara, standing nearby, felt bewildered hearing such curses coming from Olivia’s mouth, considering her own humble background where she wasn’t familiar with such words.
Olivia retorted again, “You could have just given it to Johan or this commoner. Why pretend to be responsible when you can’t even fulfill your promise!”
“T-this…”
Seeing Ryuk’s frown, Olivia’s already frustrated mind became more irritated. She couldn’t comprehend how he could forget their childhood promise. “You’ve forgotten, haven’t you?!”
Receiving no response from him, her tears fell incessantly, like a never-ending waterfall. “Sniff…I…hate…you, Ryuk. You are a liar.”
“Hick….you…..promised to always be by my side and then….left me.” Using her wrist to wipe her tears, she couldn’t fathom his mentality for forgetting about the person closest to him, buried like a forgotten memory.
Whenever she stumbled, he supported her.
But as they grew, the distance between them widened.
She didn’t know how many times she tried to gain his attention, whether by putting herself in danger or intentionally falling down the stairs, just to pull him away from his books and gain even a small bit of attention, but he…
// Are you alright or does it hurt? //
// Sorry, Olivia, Mother is calling me. //
// Olivia, give me some time, I need to learn this thing. //
// Can we talk tomorrow? //
// … //
These transitions felt like fading memories that pushed him farther away from her life.
She held onto the thought that even minor ailments or intentional wounds would bring him to visit her sometimes.
But every time, he kept calling her childish for doing so.
Yes, she was childish to want something that was rightfully hers.
Her memories shifted from a person she could lean on to a man who wouldn’t even allow her to touch him.
HUSSHH
“Calm yourself down, Olivia,” Ryuk, noticing runic inscriptions shrouding her body, attempted to quell her outburst.
Olivia was a Spellsmith, proficient in forging artifacts at a high level and being a heroine, favoured by heavens, she possessed ‘The Enchanter’s Forge,’ a separate space in another dimension for crafting artifacts.
CRACKLE
The swords in Amayara’s hand started to shine, their runes reacting with those formed on Olivia’s body, who had crafted this weapon.
“You’re one to talk, Ryuk.” Olivia’s face slowly lifted, her eyes and face filled with her own agony, resenting the man for whom she had tried everything just to catch his gaze, but he kept evading her.
“You even gave that sword to her.” Her blurry eyes noticed the shine on Amayara’s sword, the very one she had forged tirelessly, enduring hunger and neglecting her health.
Now, it rested in another’s hands.
“I told you, it is not compatible with my soul,” Ryuk, seeing the broken woman before him, felt a surge of emotions.
He never avoided her.
He wasn’t just any random human; he was a prince, an heir to the throne.
He had responsibilities to bear, and he did so while still making ample time for her.
Whenever he requested a moment to attend to his duties, he always returned to console her.
He even took leave from his studies to alleviate her despondency.
But gradually, her behavior became more intense…
Seeing her harm herself just to seek his attention made him feel blamed.
Even cutting into his sleep, he always made time to meet her.
But those self-inflicted wounds on her body tore at his heart.
He was a man.
Unlike women who could express their agony by shedding tears, he was restrained from displaying such weakness.
From his previous world, he had been taught from birth that a man’s tears didn’t reveal their pain but rather exposed the weakness within their heart, making them vulnerable.
And Weakness was a word Ryuk detested.
He only felt weak for being thrust into a world as a villain without any say in the matter.
This prevented him from displaying any hint of vulnerability.
He had simply called her childish, not wanting to scold her or reveal how much her wounds pained him.
But now, everything seemed to be falling apart.
“Princess, it might be a misunderstanding,” Amayara attempted to diffuse the increasingly tense situation, remembering to use honorifics.
“Stop it, Amayara. One must at least listen to resolve misunderstandings,” Ryuk stated, looking at the utterly broken girl.
He had tried everything.
Every time others turned their backs on him, he tried to explain.
No matter how much time he spent explaining things to everyone, their decisions remained fixed and unshakeable.
He could only attempt to resolve misunderstandings; it was up to them to at least listen to him.
“Haaa…haaa….It’s okay, though.” Olivia collected her breath, using her hands to wipe away her tears, trying to calm herself down, resigned to the fact that he would never understand.
“It’s fine then,” Ryuk felt relieved seeing her calming down, finally seeing a glimmer of hope for things to return to their usual state. “Let’s hea—”
WHOOSH
Suddenly, the runes began to glow on Olivia’s body, causing the sword in Amayara’s hands to transform into solid rock—a method to seal her own artifacts.
Observing this, Ryuk turned toward the girl, looking into her tear-stained, blank ruby eyes.
“You cherish that title of yours, don’t you, Ryuk Von Selvius?”
Seeing him narrow his eyes, a smile formed on Olivia’s face as her breath rose and fell.
“I will take it away.” Lifting her hands, showing her palm to him before clenching it, runes slowly healed her wounds, weakening the poison and gradually nullifying its effects.
“Don’t cross the line, Olivia,” Ryuk’s tone was firm, causing her eyes to widen at the killing intent reflected in his amber eyes.
Gritting her teeth, she bit her lips, a small drop of blood emerged as she realized how important his empire was to him, overshadowing her significance.
For others, the Selvius Empire might have been an inheritance from his mother, a legacy. But for Ryuk, it was his life.
He could have chosen to live like characters in the novels from his previous world, utilizing a system and indulging in carnal desires, sleeping with numerous women, naming it a survival game — a life not better than of an animal.
Living a life without any goal was akin to living like an animal, simply following the herd, his goal was to become a satisfactory figure for himself.
He aspired to live as a real human.
Witnessing his mother consistently fulfilling her duties to the kingdom, he aimed to prove himself worthy. Being called a crown prince, he desired to genuinely care for his people.
This empire was the product of relentless nights spent without sleep.
Every single page of its history was woven by his hands.
If someone attempted to take away what he had dedicated his entire life to, he would never forgive them.
‘Calmdown, Ryuk,’ he tried to pacify his mind. His reaction had slightly exceeded his usual demeanor.
Due to the stress of the situation, he would have controlled himself, but now, witnessing her blood trickling from her lips, he knew everything was already in ruins.
Not wanting to stay there any longer and unwilling to do something that would make him hate himself again, he turned to leave the room.
Just before he departed, he added just one last word.
“The next time we meet, Olivia, I will not hold back”
