Chapter 259: Chapter 259- Mother-in-law?
Positioned in the furthest corner, the quartet of women, all experienced cultivators, continually glanced at the delicate-looking man dressed in black, his amber-hued eyes capturing their interest. They scrutinized every detail—his skin color and texture, his solid build, the noble grace of his movements, and the half of his face that caused them to gulp with unease.
GULP
“Whoa, don’t drink all at once, Lan’er?!” Out of the four, three had skin as pale as milk, while the fourth displayed a slight tan, leaning toward darker tones. They observed their junior sister downing a jar of wine in one swift motion while stealing glances at that man.
“If I ride him today, you can have him tomorrow—no, let’s make it a week.” The woman setting the jar on the table wiped her lips with her wrist and let out a breath as she pointed towards the other women. Her eyes flickered to the man in black, catching a glimpse of his sharp jawline that sliced through her heart. Those deep amber eyes of his seemed to pull her in, drowning her in his gaze as he glanced at the woman next to him. “Damn it, even a month feels too short…”
She covered her face using a veil, hiding her rosy red lips and pink-hued milky white skin as she made her way towards the table.
“…it looks like Junior Sister’s got first dibs on him.” the woman seated elegantly commented that, unlike the others, she preferred milk over wine and light food items over oily ones placed on the table. Her tan skin added a unique allure to her appearance, setting her apart from the other three.
‘I hit a jackpot today,’ Lan’er thought as she moved through the people inside the inn. After passing through, she halted near the table where the black-robed man with a black mask was sitting, his amber eyes and that alluring smile not hidden under the mask, which truly intrigued her. She directly inquired, “Hey Young Master, what is your rate?”

‘…..’ Ignoring the system’s persistent voice, Ryuk’s eyes settled on the newly arrived woman. She stood with one finger sensually placed over her lips while the other teased near her abdomen.
He was listening in on their talks and keeping an eye on their behavior, and he had already picked up on the slight unease rising in those women as they talked about wanting to share a bed with him.
But ignoring their conversation, he was mostly interested in the woman among these four who seemed to belong to the dark elves, but was somewhat unrecognizable due to the presence of some artifact hiding her ears.
“I don’t understand what you mean, Lan’er?” With a sip from a small white cup that was far too delicate for his throat, Ryuk posed his question. He set the cup down and looked over at the woman who had just quaffed the same wine from a jar, as she came to ask him how much would it cost to have sex with him for a night.
He didn’t want to judge someone, but he definitely doubted if this was her first time.
“Darling, I just made a naughty suggestion—w-wait, what?! How do you even know my name?!” Lan’er, who had momentarily fortified herself with wine, abruptly lost her intoxication when she flinched and caught sight of him.
“I kno—” Before Ryuk could say something, he felt an energy pass by, touching his outer body and spreading throughout the inn, ‘Should I interrupt?’
[No Host, it is reckless to interfere in two women’s fight.]
“How dare an ugly pig try to woo my man, huh?” Esme, who had already covered the whole inn with an illusion, made each of the individuals present there see things on a mental level, making them isolated in their own world. Lan’er stumbled as she felt a sharp object placed near her neck.
“W-wait, how did you arrive behind me…kugh,” Lan’er cried out before feeling Esme pressing the sharp object, specifically a chopstick against her. Her blood turned cold as a small drop trickled through her neck wound, causing her eyes to tremble in fear as she felt it was serious.
“S-save me,” she whimpered, with tears starting to form in her eyes. She tried to stretch her hand towards Ryuk, who calmly folded his hands and kept looking towards the trembling woman. She was under an illusion, not aware that for others, everything was normal and only she felt the pain, the chill, and the threat of death looming over her while others only saw her standing there.

“What happened to Junior Sister? Is she rejected? Pfft,” the other three thought as they glanced in that direction, with the woman seated calmly narrowing her gaze and cautioning the others, “Something’s amiss.”
“Have you sensed something, Elder Sister?” one of the two looked towards the woman, who calmly stood before holding her sword hilt, adding, “The mana—I mean energy around Lan’er is acting strange. Let’s go.”
With those words, all three of them made their way towards the table while the one leading them kept her eyes fixed on the mana direction which, unexpectedly, wasn’t coming from that man but from the white-dressed woman beside him.
‘Those accompanying her don’t know her identity, and she is highly sensitive to mana. Then what if?..’ Ryuk kept his hands folded before lightly tapping his feet on the ground, sending a ripple of small energy which pushed the surrounding mana not guided by Esme away, decreasing the density.
But it wasn’t noticeable to anyone except Esme and the woman whose body flinched the moment she sensed the mana being pushed back like that.
‘?!’
‘Who is he?’ She initially doubted that the golden-eyed woman was able to control mana, but just now, the energy which pushed back the surrounding mana was in condensed form, highly concentrated.
“Elder Sister, what happened?” Seeing the front woman halt, the other two inquired.
“….I apologize for my Junior Sister’s mistake.” The woman’s lips parted but trembled as she pursed them and approached the table before bowing ninety degrees while closing her eyes, knowing that these people were strong—really strong.
“Are you a native of here?” Ryuk, ignoring the woman’s bow, inquired. Unlike what he had known about dark elves from VR games from his old world, this woman’s skin was much smoother, spotless, and delicate without hint of muscles—causing him to become curious about her.

Until now, he had seen many different races, but only a few had appearances different from humans, like Bella, who is a catkin, Tictric, who was the savant of Ardoros, Dariants, and then this woman, now a dark elf.
Approximately five races who were not human or artificially created dolls, so indeed it piqued his curiosity to know more about them.
After all, in the journey to a destination, one needs to keep looking towards the landscapes passing by.
[ You shouldn’t have been oggling at another woman in the presence of my mother-in-law, Host =_= ]
‘What’s with this “mother-in-law”?’ Ryuk, hearing the confusing words from the System, tried to inquire but was interrupted by a soft voice coming from beside him.
“You are enjoying it, aren’t you?” Esme mumbled in a soft tone.
“…Yes,” Ryuk glanced in the direction of Esme, who was completely leaned on the table with both hands folded, resting her chin on them. He was prompted to reject but, seeing her golden eyes appearing dissatisfied, he couldn’t help but want to see them teased.
“I hate you,” Esme averted her gaze, looking to the other side as her cheeks flushed beneath her illusionary facade. She caught a glimpse of his teasing smile, which made her heart race, reminding her of the face she had seen hidden behind the mask. Feeling fluttery, she activated her illusion and disappeared from the scene.
“She left because of you. Anything you have to say?” Ryuk turned towards the bowed elven woman who flinched hearing his words as sweat beads formed, feeling completely dreaded due to the firmness in his voice, which held no empathy.
“I-I can do anything. Please tell me, Young Master.” She trembled, feeling how no one inside the inn seemed to even notice their arrival and were lost in their own world, prompting her to express her willingness, knowing how dangerous these people were.
[Host, this could be your best chance to thoroughly analyze her body (^O^)↝]
