Chapter 73: Chapter 73- Love at first sight
‘Well, this many kill points should be enough?’
[Host, the power levels of individuals are much higher; even one will be enough.]
Hearing the System’s voice about the change in the value of kill points based on strength only prompted Ryuk to think again about how cheap a weak individual’s life is.
However, he understood that even in his previous life, he never once met anyone stronger than him for such changes in kill points to occur.
‘How many people are observing me?’ Putting aside the fact about kill points, he inquired about the surveillance he was feeling right now, but he wanted to confirm it.
[Host, there are two individuals with power levels more than Zenith observing this place.]
He didn’t feel much surprise since, the moment he woke up and even erased his presence inside that room, his major goal might have been to not disrupt energy from that place, but one of the reasons was also to get through these individuals’ eyes.
Even right now, the System precisely informed about two individuals observing this place, but not him.
Meaning, his ability was disrupting their vision, which was expected since, to keep an eye on someone, one needs a medium which can be mana or any type of energy, which gets nullified on touching him.
‘I need to increase my focus,’ observing his own skin, which was healed completely yet the sensation he had felt a moment ago made him understand the lack of concentration which caused burns.
Technically, heat is also a form of energy, but due to the bombardment of enormous concentrated Ether, which in itself is something very vigorous, nullifying it took all the brainpower of him.
This led to his upper skin getting burned to that extent.
“Young Master?” Alfred, looking at the now completely healed skin of Ryuk, felt completely shocked.
There were races or energy like Divine Energy which healed an individual but not at this pace.
Everything seemed surreal.
Unbeknownst to him, it was just a feature Ryuk had exchanged for kill points, which needed to be fulfilled sooner to keep a flow of transactions between the Nexus Grid from where this system add-on was exchanged.
“Let’s go,” Ryuk moved towards the stairs in the same state, without wearing any clothes; after all, it was one of the things he had thought through thoroughly after arriving on the top floor.
….
“Young Master, where are the files?” Maya noticed Ryuk, who was not wearing anything and also not carrying the two files she had given him to read, coming down the stairs.
“They got burned,” Ryuk replied, arriving on the floor where Maya was present.
Ignoring them, he moved directly inside the room since he had seen a set of clothes inside through his soul gaze.
“Should I give you a copy of those documents?” Maya calmly inquired, pointing towards another copy that was prepared in case of accidental damage.
“No need, I have gone through both files.” Not caring about Maya, who had also entered the room since he needed to prepare faster, he added, “But who was the one that provided me with Starlight among those two branch families?”
While reading the documents containing information about individuals who hate him and other flagbearers, along with the support they have, there was additional information about branch families that had chosen to support him.
But seeing how only two of them had come forward to provide items for healing, he already understood the true intentions of the other families.
“Young Master, except for the Starlight Essence, which was 25% of the Healing Solution provided by the Chandlers, the other three items in raw form were given by the Crawfords,” both Mayas said, standing in a composed posture, their blank eyes reflecting Ryuk’s image of opening a hidden drawer and taking out some black clothes.
Ryuk, looking at the clothes identical to those worn by the individual in the portrait, found it easier to distinguish those who were aware of his biological father.
To be exact, after seeing the Ether Core being that hot, he could have taken countermeasures by removing his clothes and then absorbing the whole thing, but at that instant, another thought crossed his mind.
To some extent, he could guess his facial features aligned with his paternal side, and even if it was minimal, wearing the same clothes would definitely trigger a reaction from someone familiar with this cloth.
Observing the clothes in his hand, Ryuk felt something amiss the moment he touched its fabric, causing him to inquire, ‘Is this infusing with my energy?’

DING
[Host, the cloth seems to be made from a special material. Four abilities are detected in it:
– Aura Conduct
– Self-Regeneration
– Auto Cleaning
– Form pact to auto wear them ]
‘…’ Seeing the abilities attached to this cloth, Ryuk turned his eyes towards the individual inside the portrait, slightly improving man’s image in his eyes.
Essentially, upon touching them, the clothes also began to nullify mana around them, proving their ability to become one with their master’s.
Additionally, they showcased their capacity for self-regeneration and the ability to stay clean.
All indications pointed towards the small treasure he had acquired.
However, the last ability, Auto-wear, was unexpected.
The issue was that the pact would take an hour to be completed, but right now, he doesn’t have that much time, prompting him to manually wear the clothes.
“Let us help,” both Mayas moved towards him, helping him wear a black embroidered suit; he was already wearing his pants and shirt.
One of the Mayas leaned down, placing a white hair strap behind her ears, parting her lips with a composed expression, her soulless eyes fixed on the thing in her hand.
“Please lift your feet, Father,” she said, taking the black shoes her gaze was fixed on and placing them on his feet.
Normally, Ryuk had never allowed maids to prepare him, but it was already getting late to welcome guests, and seeing how his appearance had no effect on these individuals was enough for his assurance.
“It seems fine,” Ryuk stated causing both Mayas slowly stepped back, leaving Ryuk standing there, now wearing black suit dress, which seemed matching with his hair and Amber eyes added the enhanced appearance.
“Let’s leave” Without further delay, Ryuk made his way out of the room followed behind by all three of Individuals: Two Maya and Alfred.

SWISH SWISH
Several individuals, one after another, arrived from their estates, shrouded in blue mana. Their energy increased the density of the place several-fold.
BOOM!
THUD
One of the elders turned towards the individuals who had arrived with too much force, failing to control their energy.
“Oops, my bad. I should have controlled my strength,” a young man at the level of EPIC, standing in a small crater caused by his fast landing, shrugged his shoulder while narrowed his eyes as he turned towards the elder.
But, seeing the elder’s gaze and realizing the huge difference in their strength, the young man’s face became stoic. He added, “Come on, it’s not like I intentionally destroyed the front yard of this particular spire.”
BOOM!
CRACK
Another individual landed, causing the whole black floor to break instantly, huge cracks spreading like a spider web until it reached the main gates of the huge spire.
“Don’t look at my son like that, Elder. Prioritize urgent matters first,” Dreck Chandler said, gazing at the old man before turning towards the architecture in front of him.
Now, it was completely black due to the absence of orange Ether falling from its top floor.
SWISH
THUD
“Is it Alfred’s doing?” a middle-aged man asked upon his arrival, looking towards other members of the Chandler Family who were arriving one by one.
Within a few moments, the whole expanse was filled with more than fifty individuals, leaving the younger ones who had left the continent to participate in the Heir Battle.
“Don’t know. Only Alfred could do this. I would suggest teaching him a lesson,” one of the men suggested calmly, folding his hands and observing the surroundings.
“After Lady Alisia arrived, he seems to retaliate more,” one of the men spoke, narrowing his eyes as he glanced towards everyone.
In the presence of so many people, he couldn’t use the widely used title, as no one was a true ally in the power struggle.
Each individual present here was secretly supporting someone behind the back of Alisia Devereaux.
After all, they all needed to prioritize their own interests while keeping each other in check.
However, there were some who didn’t care much about what others thought of their words.
Turning towards the direction from where they felt the presence of some individuals, one of them stated with a mocking smile, “Seems the dogs are arriving too.”
Dreck Chandler turned too, a smile forming on his face as he saw the Crawford members’ energy signature becoming vivid.
“Mia, did you tell them about the Arcane Poison?” Dreck, standing firmly, glanced towards his daughter, inquiring about the spark they had thrown to completely eradicate the Crawfords.
Five years ago, after Alisia Devereaux’s arrival, many branch families were in dilemma about the potential retaliation if the rumored prodigy son of Alisia, who supposedly killed two Legendary Rankers, would join the Heir Battle.
However, it turned out to be a lie fabricated to protect a cripple.
The legend of Alisia Devereaux ended with that revelation, and now she was nothing but a helpless mother searching for a cure to heal her son.
Dreck planned to kill both the Crawfords and Alisia by using her own son.
A simple plan: The death of the cripple would be blamed on the Crawfords.
Alisia, blinded by anger, would seek revenge and kill them.
Due to the bloodline’s drawback, she would die herself.
One arrow, two birds.
“Sigh, you don’t know how much my heart pained mixing that thing inside Starlight, Dad” Mia’s eyes softened, remembering the trembling sensation she felt when placing that young man’s body inside that container.
A sensation she had never felt before, but helpless due to her father’s orders.
Mia fidgeted her fingers together nervously, reminding him of their agreement.
“Don’t forget, Father, you promised to give his dead body to me.”
