- Chapter 104 - Chapter 104 Battle Maniac Hero
Chapter 104: Battle Maniac Hero Chapter 104: Battle Maniac Hero Freya’s POV: I, Freya von Flamestone, had never imagined that my path toward strength would lead me into the complicated web of emotions and conflicts I now found myself in.
The decision to train under Cain von Flamemore, a man renowned for his unparalleled mastery of the Flamemore Swordsmanship, was made with one purpose in mind: to grow strong enough to stand by the side of Naoki-dono, the one I cherished.
In the beginning, all I sought was power.
I desired the strength to protect myself and others, and, most importantly, the strength to stand beside Naoki-dono when the time came.
But fate, it seemed, had a different plan.
My training with Cain took an unexpected turn when he declared me his fiancée, making me the prize of a challenge against Naoki-dono-a duel to determine my fate.
This sudden twist in events was nothing like I had envisioned.
I had come here to improve, to learn, to become strong enough for Naoki-dono, but instead, I found myself caught in a cruel game that threatened to tear us apart.
The situation seemed hopeless, but Naoki-dono didn’t abandon me.
He stood firm against Cain, vowing to rescue me, to free me from this entanglement.
His words became my beacon, guiding me through the darkness.
I held onto them tightly, determined to grow stronger, believing that, one day, he would indeed free me.
By then, I would not be the fragile woman I once was but a powerful warrior ready to stand beside him in battle.
I was resolved to fight-not just for my freedom, but for my future with Naoki-dono.
The strength I sought was not only physical but emotional, too.
I wanted to become a woman capable of expressing her true feelings, without fear, without restraint.
…
Five months of grueling training under Cain had yielded some results.
I had mastered five of the eight forms of Flamemore Swordsmanship.
Each form was a testament to Cain’s mastery and to the power that I had begun to wield.
My combat skills had grown significantly, and while my progress wasn’t complete, it was enough to see how much I had changed.
Perhaps the most notable difference was how the [Magic Sword Release] skill I had honed over the years complemented Flamemore Swordsmanship.
Infusing my sword with flame allowed me to make full use of the techniques, amplifying their power and precision.
So far, I had mastered several formidable techniques: Ember Fang: A blazing slash, so fast and fierce it sliced through the air, leaving a trail of burning embers in its wake.
The target was ignited in an instant, reduced to ash before they could even react.
Comet: This technique was a high-speed dash, a rush toward the enemy like a meteor falling from the sky.
The sword blazed with a fiery tail, creating a massive explosion upon impact.
Flare Strike: With this, I could send forth a wave of crimson flames from my sword, engulfing my enemies in a searing inferno that left nothing but ashes.
Blazing Tempest: A whirlwind of slashes, spinning so rapidly that it created a fiery vortex around me.
The intense heat from each swing formed a storm of flames that consumed everything in its path.

Crimson Eruption: Perhaps one of the most destructive techniques, it involved driving my sword into the ground, unleashing a surge of molten energy from beneath.
The result was a violent eruption of lava, raining down burning embers and searing everything in its range.
Despite mastering these powerful forms, I knew there was still much more to learn.
Cain was incredibly strong, far beyond me.
His swordsmanship was unparalleled, and he had even mastered the highest form of Flamemore Swordsmanship-a feat that had eluded the previous patriarch of the Flamemore family.
His refusal to show me this ultimate technique had been frustrating, but I understood that he would only reveal it in battle, to a worthy opponent.
For now, I had no choice but to continue training, waiting for the moment when I could face him as an equal.
While I struggled to master the forms, my fellow trainee, Kael, Cain’s older brother, was having a much harder time.
He could barely manage to master the third form of Flamemore Swordsmanship, and Cain was clearly disappointed with him.
In a cold moment, Cain suggested that Kael abandon the higher forms of the technique and focus on the family’s lower-tier magic sword technique instead.
Kael seemed downcast, but he didn’t give up.
Cain, while harsh, didn’t expel him from the training.
He remained on the team, but I couldn’t quite understand the dynamics between the two brothers.
There was something unspoken, a tension that I couldn’t quite place.
…
Soon enough, the day arrived for the dungeon conquest-an essential part of the Braveheart Knight Academy’s graduation exam.
I had been placed in Cain and Kael’s team.
Standing before the Cursed Tower, the dungeon that we were to conquer, I was filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension.
The dungeon was no easy feat, and I knew that we would face formidable challenges within.
Cain gave us our instructions: clear the dungeon at top speed, reach the boss room as quickly as possible.
I was perplexed by his orders.
My heart longed to support Naoki-sama, to help him conquer the dungeon boss and win his bet against Cain.
I wanted to return to his side, but Cain’s demands made it clear that I had no choice but to follow his strategy.
He was leading us, and I had to comply, no matter my personal desires.
With the signal from the Academy Head, Arsene von Braveheart, Cain surged into the dungeon like a bolt of lightning, Kael and I close behind him.
We entered the dungeon first, racing through the floors.
I was able to solve the puzzles on each floor with ease, while Cain and Kael struggled to contribute anything useful.
Their strength was undeniable, but when it came to riddles, they were both utterly useless.
The dungeon’s challenge progressed smoothly, and soon we reached the twentieth floor.
We had made it this far without much difficulty, and before we faced the mini-boss, we decided to take a brief rest.
It was then that I discovered a curious fact: Cain had an insatiable appetite.
He needed frequent meal breaks, and it was no surprise that we were now taking one before continuing our conquest.
Despite his strength and the serious task at hand, Cain had a rather human side that often took me by surprise.
…
After we finished dealing with the mini-boss of the 20th floor, the Rusted Titan, we were about to engage when students from other teams arrived.
They were from different classes and had lagged behind us, but now, seeing that we were about to fight the boss, they requested to join forces.
Cain smirked and shrugged.
“Fine.
Do as you like,” he said.
With that, he dashed forward at lightning speed, closing the distance between himself and the Rusted Titan in an instant.
The massive, rust-covered colossus let out a deep, metallic roar, shaking the very ground beneath us.
Its enormous body was slow, making it easy to target, but its sheer size meant that a single attack could be devastating.
As expected, the Rusted Titan activated one of its area-wide skills, sending a shockwave of jagged steel fragments in all directions.
The reckless students who had rushed in without a plan were caught in the blast, their armor shredded, and they fell to the ground, groaning in pain.
Cain saw this as the perfect opportunity.
His blade flared up with roaring crimson flames as he executed [Flamemore Swordsmanship: Flare Strike]-a fiery wave surged from his sword, cutting through the Rusted Titan’s body like a hot knife through butter.
A moment later, the Titan was split cleanly in two.
Flames engulfed its body, and it crumbled into burning ash.
The battle was over.
The wounded students, still struggling on the floor, called out desperately.
“Please… heal us…!” Cain didn’t even glance at them.
“Not my problem,” he scoffed, turning to Kael and me.
“We’re moving on.” Leaving behind the injured students, he continued deeper into the dungeon.
30th Floor €“ The Cunning Venomous Tyrant Upon reaching the 30th floor, we were met with another powerful mini-boss-the Cunning Venomous Tyrant, a monstrous scorpion-like creature dripping with deadly venom.
Just as we prepared for battle, new arrivals caught up with us-teams from Class 3-C and Class 3-B.
They were exhausted from the climb but still determined.
“We should work together!
This thing’s poison is too dangerous!” one of them insisted.
Cain ignored them.
He had no interest in working with those he deemed weak.
But these teams were persistent, and before Cain could refuse, they rushed forward, launching a disorganized attack against the Venomous Tyrant.
Cain’s irritation was visible.
Their chaotic assault was ruining the battle strategy.
His patience snapped.
“Idiots.” With a single swing, he activated [Crimson Eruption].
The ground beneath the mini-boss exploded, sending molten flames surging into the sky.
The Venomous Tyrant, weak to fire, shrieked in agony before being reduced to a pile of burnt remains.
Unfortunately, the reckless students from Class 3-C and 3-B were also caught in the blast.
Their screams echoed as they collapsed, charred and motionless.
Cain sheathed his sword, a smirk on his face.
“I warned you.” Without a shred of concern, he turned to us.
“Let’s keep moving.” 40th Floor €“ The Abyssal Warden The 40th floor mini-boss was unlike anything we had faced before.
The Abyssal Warden-a towering, ethereal guardian-floated before us, its translucent form shifting between reality and the void.
Our weapons were useless against it.
“Damn it… it’s immune to physical attacks,” I muttered.
If Amelia or Julius were here, they could have handled this easily.
Their magic was perfect for dealing with specters.
But Cain, ever the overconfident warrior, simply grinned.
Without hesitation, he activated Supreme-tier Aura Force-an overwhelming surge of power engulfed him, his entire body radiating a blinding, golden light.
With a single devastating slash, he obliterated the Abyssal Warden.
The mini-boss vanished without a trace, its very existence erased.
Cain cracked his neck.
“Too easy.” Several injured students watched in awe, but once again, Cain had no interest in helping them.
He pushed forward without hesitation, now joined by a few surviving members of Class 3-A and 3-B, who stubbornly refused to fall behind.
50th Floor €“ Dread Revenant, The Forgotten Knight (Level 60) The mini-boss of the 50th floor was an entirely different kind of horror.
Standing before us was the Dread Revenant, The Forgotten Knight.
A towering figure clad in rusted black armor, its skeletal frame burned with cursed blue flames.
Crimson embers flickered in its hollow eye sockets, its gaze filled with eternal hatred.
It wielded an enormous cursed greatsword, pulsing with dark energy.
Any wound inflicted by its blade would drain the life force of its victims.
Cain’s eyes lit up with excitement.
“A regenerating strong monster, huh?
Now this is going to be fun!” The Revenant’s flames clashed violently against Cain’s own fire, neither overpowering the other.
Sparks and embers flew as their swords met in a storm of steel and flame.
Cain uses one of his ultimate techniques, [Flamemore Swordsmanship Secret Technique: Burning Madness] Cain enters berserker mode, increasing his attack speed and slashing power for a few seconds.
Each slash leaves a trail of fire, and the longer he fights, the greater the flames.
Cain laughed like a madman, relishing every moment of the fight.
He swung his sword with reckless abandon, his movements wild yet precise.
“Damn it, this guy is a battle maniac!” I thought.
Hours passed.
The clash of swords echoed endlessly as Cain slowly but surely gained the upper hand.
Then, just as he was about to deliver the finishing blow- A shadow descended.
A mysterious figure emerged from the darkness, moving faster than even Cain could react.
With a single, devastating strike, the intruder eliminated the mini-boss-effortlessly cutting down the Dread Revenant before Cain could land his final hit.
The entire battlefield fell silent.
Cain’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“No way…” he muttered.
His grip on his sword tightened.
Then, in a low, almost growling voice, he said: “You… You’re one of the Demon Warlords, aren’t you?!” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS NAVIRUNAVIII Give comments if you like it!
