Chapter 105: Suprised Attack!
Chapter 105: Suprised Attack!
Freya’s POV: “What just happened?!” I couldn’t even see the attack from the figure that had suddenly appeared.
In an instant, he effortlessly defeated the Dread Revenant-a foe that took Cain a long time to bring down.
His strike felt as though it had split the dungeon itself, reducing the mini-boss to nothingness.
Kael and I were frozen in shock, our bodies trembling from the sheer power this figure displayed.
The atmosphere was heavy, as if an oppressive force was weighing down on us, making it difficult to even breathe properly.
But Cain…
he laughed loudly.
His body was still engulfed in flames from his active skill, [Flamemore Swordsmanship Secret Technique: Burning Madness].
His aura blazed wildly, making him look like an unstoppable force.
The sheer intensity of his flames illuminated the dimly lit dungeon, casting long, flickering shadows across the cracked stone walls.
Still in a berserker-like state, Cain let out a fierce grin and said, “Damn it, this can’t be real…
but let me guess-you’re a Demon Warlord, aren’t you?” Hearing those words only confused Kael and me further.
My thoughts raced, A Demon Warlord?
But aren’t they on the same level as Norx, the one Naoki-dono defeated at the Soalara Magic Academy?
And Gorx, the one Arsene and the professors took down at Braveheart Knight Academy?
Why is someone like that here?!
I had no clue what was going on, but one thing was certain-Cain had been aware of demonic movements within this dungeon all along.
Had he suspected this from the beginning?
Or was this encounter a complete surprise to him as well?
The demon stood before us, clad in a hooded robe that concealed his face and body.
A sinister grin spread across his lips as he listened to Cain’s words.
His presence exuded an overwhelming aura of malice, making my skin crawl.
Even though I couldn’t see his eyes, I could feel them staring directly into my soul.
“I have no need to answer questions from lowly humans like you,” he said dismissively, his voice carrying a sense of superiority that only enraged Cain further.
Cain’s fury erupted.
Without hesitation, he lunged at the demon, activating [Flamemore Swordsmanship: Comet].
He leaped, sword blazing, and swung down in a powerful slash.
The flames from his sword roared, burning through the air with an intense heat.

But his attack never connected.
The demon easily dodged with a short-range teleport, reappearing just a few feet away with a smirk on his face.
“Your little toy sword will never touch me,” the demon sneered.
“Chase me if you dare, Cain the Hellfire Berserker, Hero of the Braveheart Kingdom and heir of the Flamemore family.” Kael and I flinched.
He knows Cain’s identity?!
That revelation only made this situation even more terrifying.
If the demons were already aware of Cain, did that mean they had been watching us all along?
“Tch, damn bastard!
So, I’m famous even in the demon realm, huh?
Well, that makes sense-I have burned hundreds of your kind on the battlefield!” Cain scoffed, relentlessly pursuing the demon.
“Ridiculous.
The ones you burned were mere low-ranked demons.
Don’t compare them to me!
Your sword can’t even graze me-how do you expect to burn me?
Hahahaha!” The demon continued to taunt him, fueling Cain’s rage as he chased after him.
“Wait, Cain!” Kael called out, trying to keep up as the chase led deeper into the dungeon, past the 51st floor.
Without hesitation, I followed as well.
If our opponent was a demon, then this situation was beyond dangerous-we had to defeat him.
The pursuit continued until we reached the 59th floor.
Without realizing it, we had been chasing the demon for over three hours.
Cain, still in his berserker state, showed no signs of exhaustion.
Meanwhile, Kael and I were already running low on stamina.
My legs ached, my breath came in ragged gasps, and my grip on my sword was beginning to falter.
Yet, Cain pressed on, unrelenting.
Then, at the entrance to the 60th floor-the floor rumored to house the dungeon boss-the demon casually pushed open the massive doors.
A dark, eerie mist seeped out from within, and an unnatural chill filled the air.
“Damn it!
I will cut that bastard down!” Cain charged forward, ready to enter the floor without hesitation.
Suddenly, Kael grabbed his arm.
“Stop, Cain!
This is too suspicious-he must have set a trap!
We don’t know what we’re walking into!” I immediately agreed.
“Kael is right, Cain!
They’re luring us in.
We have no idea what awaits us beyond that door!
This could be an ambush!” “Let go of me!” Cain growled, shoving Kael away with enough force to make him stumble.
His crimson eyes burned with an untamed fury, his patience already at its limit.
“If you’re scared, then don’t follow me!
I can handle this alone!” Cain shot us a sharp glare before stepping into the 60th floor without looking back.
The moment he vanished beyond the threshold, I rushed to help Kael up.
Turning to him, I asked, “What should we do, Kael?
Should we head back and find Naoki-dono’s team for reinforcements?
Maybe they can help us stand a chance against that demon.” “No!
I won’t leave my brother to fight that demon alone.
If we waste time searching for help, Cain might already be in trouble.
We have to support him, Freya!” Kael’s serious expression left no room for hesitation.
His hands clenched into fists, his resolve unwavering.
“But it’s too risky, Kael…
We don’t even know if we’ll be of any help, or if we’ll just get in his way…” I murmured, my uncertainty creeping in.
The thought of losing Cain was terrifying, but what if our interference only made things worse?
“That’s not true, Freya!
We’ve trained hard for this.
You’ve even mastered five moves of the Flamemore Swordsmanship.
We can help Cain!
If nothing else, we can at least watch his back!” Kael’s determination was unwavering, and his words finally convinced me.
Together, we took a deep breath and stepped forward.
The dark mist swirling around the entrance sent a shiver down my spine, but I forced myself to move.
We entered the 60th floor, hoping-no, praying-that Naoki-dono would arrive in time to aid us in this fateful battle.
As the doors shut behind us, I felt as though we had just walked into the depths of hell itself.
…
Kael and I finally reached the 60th floor.
But Cain and the demon were nowhere to be seen.
Without wasting a second, we dashed forward, searching desperately for Cain, hoping we could assist him before it was too late.
Eventually, we arrived at the entrance to the dungeon boss’s chamber.
The remnants of Cain’s attacks-his fiery slashes from Flamemore Swordsmanship-were scorched into the surroundings near the door.
There was no doubt about it-he had already gone inside.
Of course, he had.
He was a battle maniac, after all.
There was no way he would run from an enemy right in front of him.
“Steady yourself, Freya.
We’re going in!” Kael said, his eyes meeting mine with unwavering resolve.
“I understand,” I replied, firming my grip on my sword.
We pushed the heavy dungeon door open, stepping into the chamber.
The moment we entered, the doors slammed shut behind us with an ominous boom.
And then, right before us-Cain, still ablaze with battle fervor, relentlessly attacking the demon.
His fiery slashes scorched the air, flames scattering across the room.
His movements were wild yet controlled, his blade seeking nothing but destruction.
Without hesitation, Kael and I rushed to his side, joining the fight against the demon.
“Oho… As expected of pathetic humans-you always gather together like insects.
This works in my favor,” the demon sneered, a cruel smirk spreading across his face.
“HAHAHA!
I thought you two would run away!
But I guess you’ve got some guts, Freya, Kael!
Let’s take this bastard down!” Cain laughed, his excitement only growing.
This time, he didn’t refuse our assistance.
Kael and I activated our Aura Force, a technique Cain had drilled into us countless times.
A surge of power flowed through our bodies, enhancing our strikes.
The three of us attacked in unison, launching a coordinated assault against the demon.
But once again-he vanished.
Teleporting unpredictably across the battlefield, dodging every single attack with ease.
And then, he countered.
A sudden slash-invisible to the eye.
Cain’s sharp instincts kicked in.
“Watch out!
Feel for the distortions in the air!
That’s where his attack will land!” he shouted.
I focused-just as the air around me began to tremble.
And in the next instant-slash!
The space itself seemed to tear apart where I had just stood.
I barely dodged in time.
Kael and Cain also evaded the attacks, moving instinctively as the distortions flickered around us.
The demon’s expression darkened.
Clearly, he wasn’t pleased that we were keeping up with him.
“Tch… I have no time to waste on this nonsense,” he muttered.
His gaze flicked toward the far end of the room.
Only then did we notice it-a massive crystal embedded in the wall.
Our eyes widened in realization.
Trapped within the crimson crystal-was the dungeon boss.
A monstrous entity, sealed away, its body encased in shimmering red like a captured beast awaiting release.
“You damn demons… You’re trying to control the dungeon boss?!” Cain growled, fury igniting in his voice.
Without hesitation, he lunged at the crystal, his flames roaring as he slashed toward it-toward the demon standing before it.
The demon laughed-a cold, mocking sound.
Slowly, she lifted her hands, removing the hood of her robe.
Revealing herself.
A female demon.
Her skin was a deep, dark blue, her long hair cascading down her back in flowing waves.
Two curved horns extended from her head, and behind her, a massive spellbook floated effortlessly, its pages glowing with eerie symbols.
In her hand, she clutched a staff pulsating with arcane energy.
A sinister, suffocating aura poured from her body.
And then-she shattered the crystal.
A deafening explosion erupted, sending Kael and me flying backward.
The impact rattled through my bones as I tumbled across the stone floor.
Dust and debris filled the chamber, and through the haze, I could see- The dungeon boss.
Finally freed.
And standing beside the grinning demoness.
