- Chapter 108 - Chapter 108 Vorx the Labyrinth Lord
Chapter 108: Vorx the Labyrinth Lord Chapter 108: Vorx the Labyrinth Lord I successfully separated Vorx from the dungeon boss and Zorx.
Now, I could focus entirely on fighting him.
If I managed to defeat him, the barrier around this dungeon would shatter, allowing the professors to come and assist us.
Vorx stood back up, eyes burning with fury as she prepared to attack again.
In my mind, Envi shouted a warning-Vorx was Level 85, while I was still Level 71.
I simply smiled and told him to stay calm.
Vorx wasted no time, chanting a spell at incredible speed.
[Invisible Blade]-a magic attack I was all too familiar with.
Immediately, I activated [Eclipse Eyes], revealing the true form of her spell.
From the dungeon’s ambient energy, he had forged several invisible swords that now hovered behind him.
A split second later, the blades shot toward me.
I could see them clearly, each one shaped like a distorted mirage, and dodged them with my superior speed.
When necessary, I deflected them using [Yanagi-Uke], redirecting their force away from me.
Vorx’s frustration became evident.
She clicked her tongue and unleashed [Ground Spike], transforming the dungeon floor into a field of deadly spikes.
Sharp, jagged protrusions shot up, aiming to impale me.
I swiftly evaded, activating [Kasoseki] to enhance my AGI stat and further increase my mobility.
I closed the distance between us, weaving through her relentless attacks.
The moment I found an opening, I launched my counterattack- [Blackmore Katana Style: Kazekiri 3X]-a triple aura slash that cut through the air with sheer precision.
Without hesitation, I followed up with [Blackmore Katana Style: Nisshou-Giri], striking him three times in rapid succession at close range.
But Vorx wasn’t easy prey.
She used [Labyrinth Blink], teleporting short distances repeatedly to evade my attacks.
However, I wouldn’t let him escape.
[Dark Magic: Shadow Steps]-with this, I could keep up with her movements, mirroring her teleportation speed.
Finally, my blade found its mark, slashing across her torso.
Yet, to my surprise, she blocked the strike with her staff.
The sheer force of my attack still sent him crashing into the dungeon wall, coughing up blood from the impact.
“Hah, is this really the extent of the Third-Ranked Demon Warlord’s power?” I taunted, keeping my katana at the ready.
“Honestly, I think Norx is stronger than you.” “Don’t you dare compare me to that parasitic scum!” Vorx roared.
“Take this-[Random Spike]!” The dungeon itself responded to her fury.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Countless spikes emerged from the floor, walls, and even the ceiling-all completely unpredictable in their pattern.
A true chaotic onslaught.
For a moment, I was taken aback, but I quickly adapted.
Activating [Aura Force], I sharpened my senses and amplified my power.
With [Dark Magic: Shadow Katana], my blade was now strong enough to slice through the dungeon’s own attacks.
I dodged effortlessly, slicing through every spike in my path.
It felt… effortless.
My movements were light, my body responding to my will without hesitation.
Was I… stronger than before?
As the attack subsided, Vorx’s expression shifted from frustration to disbelief.
“H-How?
How are you dodging invisible attacks?!
No one should be able to avoid them!” he shouted in sheer disbelief.
I smirked.
“I just happen to have good eyes.
And I owe that to my badass instructor.
Now, it’s time for payback-for everything you demons did to him.” Memories of Instructor Morgan’s tragic fate resurfaced, fueling my rage.
My body burned with renewed determination as I launched another relentless assault.
Vorx raised [Multi-Layer Defense Prism], erecting multiple barriers to block my strikes.
But I had no intention of stopping- [Blackmore Katana Style: Inazuma 6X]-a sixfold iai slash from every direction, faster than the eye could track.
Vorx barely managed to keep up.
But I wasn’t done.
[Blackmore Katana Style: Tsurugi no Mai]-a dance of the blade, continuous slashes flowing together in an endless barrage, breaking through her defenses piece by piece.
Her barrier shattered.
My final strike landed, severing her arm.
Blood splattered across the dungeon floor as Vorx screamed in agony.
Desperation filled hier eyes as she used [Labyrinth Blink] again, teleporting away before I could land the finishing blow.
…
KUHAHAHAHA!” Vorx’s laughter echoed through the dungeon, her voice brimming with arrogance.
She reached behind him, grabbing hold of the massive Grimoire strapped to her back.
“I never thought I’d need to use this just to deal with a lowly human… Now, taste true despair!” she declared, her crimson eyes gleaming with malice.
“Damn it!
That’s Nao’s Grimoire!
How did a demon get their hands on it?!” Envi’s voice rang out in my mind, her tone filled with urgency.
“From the markings… This Grimoire shouldn’t exist anywhere in The Grand Kingdom Solara!
It must have come from Doomspire-the Demon Empire!” I clenched my teeth.
So, demons did have their own Grimoires… This was vital information that I had to bring back to the Braveheart Kingdom.
Vorx began chanting.
Her Grimoire floated open, its dark crimson aura bathing the dungeon in an ominous glow.
Waves of magic surged around him, her power skyrocketing in an instant.
Then, she laughed again-louder, more deranged.
“[Dark Magic: Labyrinth Illusion]!” -Darkness.
My vision went black in an instant.
It felt as if I had been transported into an endless void, a labyrinth of absolute darkness with no escape.
“It’s an illusion!” Envi shouted.
“Don’t let it get to you!” I already knew that.
But this illusion was different-it felt real.
The cold, suffocating walls pressed in around me.
Every direction I ran, I was met with stone barriers, trapping me further inside this abyss.
Then, I heard it-Vorx’s mocking laughter.
“Struggle all you want, little hero!
You’re just another rat lost in my labyrinth!
Hahaha!” Her voice grated against my ears.
And then… I laughed.
I let out a low chuckle, then a full-bodied laugh that matched her own.
“-Hah.
That’s cute.” I reached into my coat, pulling out my own Grimoire-[Grimoire of the Darkness].
The moment its pages flipped open, power erupted from within me.
“[Dark Magic: Abyssal Wrath]!” A violent black aura engulfed my body, overflowing like a raging inferno.
My hair turned pure white, my mana surged, and the illusion around me- -Shattered.
Vorx’s eyes widened in shock.
She was still in the middle of chanting when I rushed forward.
Too late.
SLASH!
My katana cut deep into her chest, blood spraying across the dungeon floor.
“W-What?!” Vorx coughed, stumbling backward.
“Your illusion?” I smirked.
“It’s nothing more than a child’s parlor trick.
Even Norx did a better job than you.” I watched as Vorx spat blood, her face twisted in disbelief.
But in an instant, her rage consumed him.
“Do NOT compare me to those weaklings!!” She roared, her eyes burning with fury.
“I AM VORX!
THE THIRD-RANKED DEMON WARLORD!
Norx?
Gorx?
Those fools were NOTHING compared to me!
And I will crush you right here, human!” I met her murderous glare head-on.
“You got it wrong, Vorx.” I raised my katana.
“I’m not just a ‘human’-I am Naoki von Blackmore, future hero of the Braveheart Kingdom.
And I’m here to cut down your pathetic Demon Lord!” The moment those words left my mouth, Vorx’s fury exploded.
“You dare insult the Demon Warlord?!
DIE!” Her Grimoire flared open once more, flipping through its pages until it reached the final spell.
A massive black and crimson magic circle expanded beneath us, pulsing with uncontrollable energy.
“Ultimate Dark Magic: Pandemonium Labyrinth!!” The ground beneath us collapsed, and I felt my body being dragged into the abyss.
-And then, the real hell began.
The Pandemonium Labyrinth swallowed both of us whole.
An endless dimensional dungeon stretched before me, its eerie corridors filled with twisted, nightmarish creatures.
Vorx hovered above, grinning wickedly.
“In this labyrinth, my mana is unlimited, my health will never run out, and my power will continue to grow as long as this domain exists!” The monsters roared, their eyes locked onto me.
“This is bad,” Envi warned.
“You’ll run out of stamina first!
You can’t outlast him here!” I tightened my grip on my katana.
“…Yeah, probably.” Then, I smiled.
“But that’s why I brought a trump card.” Vorx’s eyes narrowed, her confident smirk faltering for the first time.
“What do you mean?!” However, before I could even answer, Envi gasped in realization.
“Oh… that item…!” Without hesitation, I lifted my left hand, activating the power of [The Bonehowl Ring], a legendary artifact I had obtained after slaying Garmr the Bonehowl Cerberus, the three-headed deathhound that ruled over the Abyssal Ruins in my last dungeon conquest.
The moment the ring activated, an ominous black mist coiled around my fingers before slithering up my arm, sending a chilling pulse through my entire body.
My muscles tightened, my senses sharpened, and the scent of blood and death from my past battles lingered in the air around me.
The ring’s power awakened.
– +10% STR, +10% INT.
– Passive Skill: [Soul Reclamation] €“ Restores 5% HP when killing enemies below my level.
A deep hunger awakened within me.
It was as if the ring itself was urging me to slaughter.
“This battlefield is perfect for me.” I cracked my neck, rolling my shoulders as I stared down the horde before me.
Hundreds-if not thousands-of grotesque monsters stood between me and Vorx.
Their decaying, malformed bodies twitched with unnatural energy.
Some had extra limbs grafted onto their bodies, others had twisted, eyeless faces, yet all of them carried the same lifeless, predatory gaze as they locked onto me.
They were hungry.
Good.
So was I.
“If she wants a war of attrition, then let’s play that game.” I could feel Envi grinning from within my mind.
“LET’S TAKE HER DOWN, PARTNER!” he roared in excitement.
Vorx’s frustration flared as she pointed her staff at me.
“Enough of your arrogance!” she bellowed.
“Kill him!” The monsters rushed forward, their frenzied howls filling the labyrinth.
I didn’t wait.
I charged straight into them.
