- Chapter 117 - Chapter 117 The One Who Conquer the Time
Chapter 117: The One Who Conquer the Time Chapter 117: The One Who Conquer the Time Nao’s POV: Vorx was gravely injured, her body reaching its limit.
I approached her cautiously.
Her form was still fused with the forehead of the dungeon boss, but she was utterly drained, powerless, and her body had begun to crack.
Standing directly in front of her now, I gazed at her with a hint of pity.
Then, she spoke.
“Big brother Zorx…
I’m sorry…I was nothing but a burden to you…” Vorx whispered those words with the last remnants of her consciousness.
The light in her eyes slowly faded, leaving them open yet devoid of life.
“Even demons have families of their own.
Vorx, if we had met under different circumstances, in a different world…
perhaps we could have been friends.” I muttered those words, a painful tightness gripping my chest.
I couldn’t help but feel I had done something wrong, but this was my duty-to defeat demons.
I had to do this, for my family’s sake.
“I truly am sorry.
In the end, you were right…
Humans are trash, and I might be the worst among them.
Rest now, Vorx.
May you find peace in your next life.” I whispered as I gently closed her lifeless eyes, silently praying she would find happiness, wherever she was headed.
Suddenly, Envi’s voice rang out in my mind.”You didn’t do anything wrong, Nao!
The demons have gone too far.
Their hatred for humans is what started this war in the first place.
Don’t hesitate now, Nao!
If you falter, I’ll knock some sense into you!” Hearing Envi’s unusually calm and normal tone made me smile a little.
I knew he was trying to cheer me up, and for that, I was grateful.
Even though he usually mocked me or teased the girls, he still had a heart.
“Thank you, Envi.
I’m fine now.
Let’s get out of here…” I told him softly, and I could sense his relief.
As we made our way back to the team waiting for me, a strange sensation crept over me.
Did I miss something?

“Hey, Nao…
I think I know what’s bothering you.
We’ve defeated Vorx, but there’s been no victory notification yet…” Envi said, sounding alarmed.
“You’re right.
My main quest hasn’t been marked as complete either.
That means-” Before I could finish my thought, I noticed the faces of my teammates-and Professor Alden.
All of them looked terrified, their expressions frozen as they stared at something behind me.
“What the-” I spun around to see the body of Valg, the dungeon boss, rising to its feet once more.
The cracks in its body shattered completely, revealing its true form beneath.
Golden light poured from its body, blindingly bright.
The remains of Vorx, still fused to its forehead, transformed into a crystalline mana core, which Valg absorbed into itself.
Slowly, it began to unveil its true form.
From its back, two wings emerged-familiar in shape.
A tail unfurled, and then its head appeared, monstrous and primal, like the kind you’d only see in fantasy tales.
“No way…
A golden Wyvern?!
Is that Valg’s true form?!” I gasped, unable to blink as the transformation unfolded before me.
It had become an enormous Wyvern, its size taking up half the entire boss room.
Its crimson eyes burned with a fierce glow, its body radiating a deadly aura that weighed on my mind like a vice.
It let out a deafening roar that shook the entire chamber.
My body trembled uncontrollably, both in awe and fear, at the sight of this magnificent yet terrifying creature.
“Nao, check its status!
You won’t believe this,” Envi urged me, snapping me out of my shock.
I quickly opened the status window, and what I saw left me utterly speechless.
—- [Warning!!!
Unique Monster has appeared!!!] Vaelgorath, The One Who Conquers Time (Level ???) —- I stared at the screen in disbelief.
A Unique Monster?
“This can’t be, Envi.
It’s a Unique Monster…
Just like Canis!
This is bad-everyone’s in danger!” I shouted, my voice trembling with panic.
“You’re right, Nao!
But we’re trapped here.
We can’t get Lyra, Amelia, Julius, Marius, or the others out!
We have to defeat it first!” Envi reminded me firmly.
He was right.
There was no escape.
What could I do?
If I failed here, I’d lose everyone precious to me.
Again.
I clenched my fists, memories of Rosan flashing through my mind-her smile, her warmth, her sacrifice.
I didn’t want to go through that pain again.
What…
what should I do?
Suddenly, another notification appeared.
— [!!!NOTIFICATION!!!] Reminders of the Main Quest!
Objectives: You must complete the final exam in your third year at Braveheart Knight Academy and graduate (In progress) Pass the Hero’s Exam and become the Hero of Braveheart Kingdom from the Blackmore Family (Processing) Reward: Goddess’ Wish and 50 Goddess Points.
Penalty: Your older sister, Takahiro Nana, will not be able to overcome her trauma and will end up committing suicide.
— I stared at the warning, my chest tightening as the gravity of it hit me.
It reminded me of why I was doing all of this.
I was fighting against fate, death, and overwhelming foes to protect my family on Earth.
This time, it was Nana’s life on the line.
My fists clenched, and I bit down hard on my lip until I tasted blood.
What was I doing, hesitating like this?
I have to save Nana!
That’s why I will defeat this damned Unique Monster!
A fiery resolve reignited within me, and the despair in my eyes melted into determination.
“Envi, we’re going to defeat it.
Get ready!” “That’s what I want to hear, Nao!
Whether it’s Canis again or this damn Vaelgorath, we can win!” Envi cheered me on, his confidence surging once more.
Looking at the desperation on my teammates’ faces, I stepped forward and shouted with everything I had.
“Listen up, everyone!
We have to defeat this boss monster!
That’s the only way we’re getting out of here.
Don’t be afraid!
I, Naoki von Blackmore, the one who will become the Hero of Braveheart Kingdom, swear that I will bring down this cursed Wyvern!” I saw the spark return to my teammates’ eyes.
Fear no longer controlled them.
“PREPARE YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS!
THIS IS OUR FINAL BATTLE IN THIS DUNGEON!” Julius, Termina, and Marius exchanged glances and then smiled as they stepped toward me, weapons drawn.
“That’s right.
There’s nothing to fear!” Marius said, raising his massive shield.
“Don’t forget, you’ve got me and Termina, too.
We’re members of the Heroic Starlight and Stormheim families.
We will win this!” Julius declared, lifting his sword, which began to glow with his unleashed Aura Force.
“Let’s give it our all, everyone!
We can do this!” Termina raised her bow, her eyes burning with determination.
Amelia and Lyra approached me, standing at my right and left.
“I’ll always be by your side, Naoki.
I’ll purify all your enemies!” Amelia whispered with a quiet but fierce resolve.
Lyra gave me a soft smile.
“I’ll be your number one supporter, Naoki-sama.
I’ll help you win, no matter what!” She began chanting a supportive incantation.
“You’re all amazing students.
I’m proud to be your teacher.
Now, I won’t hold back anymore!” Professor Alden declared as he started weaving his own powerful spell.
Finally, Hendrik and his team stood up, shaking off their despair.
Their eyes were no longer filled with fear but with courage.
We were all ready.
The time for the true battle had come.
We launched our attack on Vaelgorath with all the strength we could muster.
Marius stepped forward, activating [Warcry], his battle-hardened roar reverberating through the cavernous dungeon.
The skill was meant to force Vaelgorath to lock his attention on Marius and give the rest of us the space to strike.
Marius raised his massive shield, bracing for the worst.
Lyra and Professor Alden followed up swiftly.
Lyra’s incantations channeled [Damage Up], a warm golden light enveloping us as our weapons surged with newfound power.
Professor Alden’s magic layered on [Defense Up], a translucent shield appearing around each of us, fortifying our defenses.
Amelia moved into position.
Her eyes burned with unwavering determination as she gathered a massive amount of divine magic.
[Divine Magic: Holy Bind] was cast, and colossal, glowing chains of light burst from the ground.
They coiled around Vaelgorath’s legs, torso, and neck, binding him tightly.
The chains glowed with a fierce brilliance, and for a moment, it seemed as though we had succeeded in locking him down.
Seeing our opportunity, Julius, Termina, and I sprang into action.
I focused all my energy into my sword, my katana vibrating with power as I unleashed [Blackmore Katana Style: Tensho Kousen]-a blade of energy so sharp it cut through the air itself.
The energy wave shot towards Vaelgorath, aimed straight for his chest.
Julius followed suit, channeling his Aura into a concentrated slash from his longsword, launching it with all the strength of his family’s knightly lineage.
Termina let loose a barrage of arrows, each one infused with Aura Force and aimed for Vaelgorath’s vulnerable points.
Hendrik and his team joined in, combining their most powerful Aura-based attacks into a synchronized barrage.
Yet, to our horror, Vaelgorath didn’t even flinch.
He stood there, completely immobile.
Our attacks struck him directly, but they didn’t leave so much as a scratch.
It was as if our energy simply passed through him, vanishing without a trace.
Amelia’s [Holy Bind] shattered into shards of light, falling away like dust.
Vaelgorath hadn’t moved a single inch.
We froze, our breaths caught in our throats.
Disbelief painted every face around me.
How was this possible?
Hadn’t we put everything we had into those attacks?
And then, something even more shocking happened.
A deep, mocking voice rumbled through the dungeon.
“How pitiful.
You humans will never be able to defeat me.
I’ll kill every one of you!” The voice came from Vaelgorath himself.
He had spoken.
My mind reeled.
A monster capable of speech?!
This was unheard of-especially for a dungeon boss like him.
Monsters of this type were supposed to be mindless, driven only by instinct or bloodlust just like Canis.
The air around Vaelgorath shifted, growing heavier and more suffocating.
His crimson eyes, which had previously been dull and lifeless, now glowed with malevolent energy.
They locked onto each one of us as though he were already marking our graves.
“Impossible… He can talk?” Julius’s voice was barely a whisper, but it was trembling.
Termina’s bow hand shook.
Even Marius, who had always been a rock in battle, looked rattled.
For the first time since entering this dungeon, true fear began to settle into the hearts of my teammates.
This was no ordinary battle.
And if we didn’t act fast, none of us would make it out alive.
