- Chapter 119 - Chapter 119 Between Space and Time
Chapter 119: Between Space and Time Chapter 119: Between Space and Time With Dark Magic flowing through me, my body trembled.
My hair turned snow-white, and violet-dark energy erupted from my eyes- all effects of [Abyssal Wrath Mode].
It gave me tremendous magical power, but it also threatened to cloud my mind with rage.
However, the presence of [Grimoire of the Darkness] allowed me to overcome its side effects.
I took a deep breath.
My mind was now clear.
With newfound control, I reached into my grimoire and summoned [Kagegiri]-my dark katana.
The blade thrummed with the same chaotic energy that surged within me.
Using this katana will increasing my critical rate +15%, attack speed: +10%, and dark magic Damage: +25%.
Vaelgorath, still grounded and weakened, began to stir.
Without hesitation, I prepared to launch myself at him.
But just as I took a step forward, someone grabbed my arm.
“Wait, Naoki-sama!
Don’t be reckless… we’ll fight with you!” Lyra held onto me with trembling hands, her eyes still red from crying.
“Naoki, we have to face him together,” Amelia added.
She wiped her tears but was still visibly exhausted.
I looked at both of them- They were shaken, devastated by Professor Alden’s sacrifice.
Their ragged breaths and pale complexions revealed how much mana and energy they had already expended.
Then, Marius stepped forward, limping but determined.
“If you charge at that bastard, I’m going with you!
I’ll be your shield, Naoki!” Despite his injuries, he exuded a fiery determination.
“They’re right,” Julius added, walking slowly with Termina supporting him.
His voice was tired but resolute.
“We’ll combine our strength.
That’s the only way we’ll win.” Hendrik and his team approached as well.
“Naoki-sama, I know we didn’t do much against that boss…
but we’re ready to give our lives if it means fighting by your side!” Hendrik shouted, even though blood trickled down his forehead.
His entire team nodded in agreement.
Hearing everyone’s resolve, I felt a bittersweet smile creep onto my face.
“You guys…” I muttered under my breath.

Then, I took a long, hard look at their condition.
“But look at yourselves,” I said firmly.
“Lyra, Amelia-you’re both out of mana.
Marius, you’re badly wounded.
Julius and Termina are exhausted.
Hendrik, your team’s taken too much damage.” I held their gazes.
“I’m the only one who can still fight right now.” Their faces tensed as they realized the truth of my words.
Silence fell as they exchanged reluctant glances.
“Listen carefully,” I continued.
“I’m going to trap Vaelgorath in my own dimension using a secret spell.
Inside that space, I’ll fight him alone.
You’re all staying here.” Lyra’s eyes widened.
“Naoki-sama, that’s too dangerous!” “Naoki, you might not survive…” Amelia’s voice wavered with worry.
Everyone began voicing their protests- “TRUST ME!” I roared, silencing the group.
“I swear, I will defeat that dungeon boss!
Just wait for me here.
If you see the teleportation circle activate and take you out of the dungeon, that means I succeeded.
Dungeon bosses automatically trigger evacuation spells when they are defeated.” They still looked hesitant, but I knew they understood.
Lyra clutched her chest.
“But Naoki-sama…
if the circle doesn’t appear…
that means you…” She trailed off, tears threatening to fall again.
“I don’t want that to happen!” Amelia cried out, her voice filled with anguish.
The weight of their concern pressed on my heart, but I smiled gently.
For the first time, I felt deeply grateful.
These people-my comrades-truly cared about me.
A stark contrast to my lonely days back on Earth, where few ever noticed my struggles.
I walked up to Lyra and Amelia, placing a hand on each of their heads.
My touch was soft, reassuring.
“I’m not going to die,” I said with a calm, confident smile.
“I will activate that teleportation circle and send you all to safety.
And then I’ll come back to you.
That’s a promise.” Amelia and Lyra hugged me tightly at the same time.
I smiled and hugged them back.
After that they let me go.
Their tears slowed.
Lyra sniffled but finally nodded, and Amelia wiped her eyes with renewed hope.
The others also seemed to accept my plan.
They still looked worried, but they trusted me.
I handed over leadership of the group to Julius.
“If I don’t return in time, Julius-you’ll lead the team out of here.
Keep them safe,” I instructed.
He hesitated, but eventually nodded with a determined expression.
With everything settled, I turned back toward Vaelgorath.
The massive wyvern had managed to stand once more, glaring at me with burning hatred.
His wings were still missing, but his power remained dangerous.
I stepped forward, gripping [Kurogiri] tightly.
Energy from [Abyssal Wrath Mode] surged through me.
“Nao, my partner, are you ready?!” Envi asked me enthusiastically.
He sounded very brave to fight Vaelgorath.
“I’m ready, my annoying partner.
Let’s defeat this damn monster like we defeated Canis!!!
I dashed forward, closing the distance in an instant- -Ready to end this once and for all.
…
I sprinted toward Vaelgorath with all my might.
He had just risen to his feet, still visibly writhing in pain from the destruction of his right wing-a wound inflicted by Professor Alden’s sacrifice.
Vaelgorath scowled, his fury barely contained.
“Worthless human trash!
I can’t believe that miserable professor managed to destroy one of my wings.
Ugh!
This was beyond my calculations!
That damned human…
at least he’s dead now.
HAHAHAHA!” His laughter struck a nerve deep within me.
My grip on [Kurogiri] tightened until my knuckles turned white.
I couldn’t allow him to mock Professor Alden’s sacrifice.
Without hesitation, I surged my dark magic through my body, increasing my speed and strength.
My connection to [Kurogiri] enhanced my power further, and I launched myself straight at him with a flurry of attacks.
“[Dark Magic: Phantom Slash 5X]!” I roared, aiming five high-speed, dark-infused slashes at Vaelgorath’s torso.
But Vaelgorath merely sneered and raised his claw.
With a flicker of golden light, he activated [Time Stop].
My slashes froze mid-air, suspended like glass shards in space.
He effortlessly sidestepped my attack.
“Is that all?
How pitiful!” he jeered.
I clenched my teeth.
I wasn’t finished yet.
Instead of retreating, I launched a second wave of attacks, aiming to pressure him.
I needed to distract him long enough to activate my hidden magic-one that could shift the tides of battle.
“Take this, you wretched monster!
[High Dark Magic: Nightmare Tempest, Hundred Shadows]!” Dozens of shadow clones erupted from the ground around me, dark replicas of myself, each wielding dark blades.
They surrounded Vaelgorath from all directions, attacking him simultaneously with rapid, slashing strikes.
Blades clashed against his scales in a cacophony of metal and magic.
While Vaelgorath fended off the shadow clones, I silently slipped behind him.
My mana had been gathering throughout the entire battle, and now I was ready to unleash it.
I leapt high into the air, sword raised.
Vaelgorath sensed the attack and turned to activate [Time Stop] once more, but he was too slow this time.
“Too slow, Vaelgorath!
Take this!
[Secret Dark Magic: Eternal Nightfall]!” With a downward slash, I tore through space itself, opening a dimensional rift of swirling darkness.
In an instant, a massive sphere of pitch-black energy engulfed us both.
From the outside, it looked as if we were trapped in a giant black orb, with no light escaping.
When the light returned, we found ourselves standing in a different dimension.
We stood in the ruins of an ancient city bathed in pale moonlight.
Jagged black spires reached toward the dark sky, and shadows danced eerily across the crumbling stone.
This was my domain-my Dark Magic Dimension.
Here, the air itself drained mana from my enemies, and their speed would gradually decrease over time.
Meanwhile, I received a significant buff, and my trait [Shadow Conqueror] activated, boosting my STR and AGI by 50%.
In this realm, I was at a tremendous advantage.
“Prepare yourself, cursed beast!
No-Vaelgorath the Conqueror of Time… I know exactly who you are!” I shouted, my rage barely contained.
“You might be the master of time manipulation, but none of that will matter here!
I’ll defeat you and end this once and for all!” Vaelgorath stood still for a moment, processing my words.
But then, his mouth twisted into a wide, toothy grin.
“KUHAHAHAHAHAHA!” His maniacal laughter echoed across the ruins.
“Oh?
Is that Kagegiri you’re holding?
That means you defeated Canis, didn’t you?” he asked, his tone amused.
My eyes narrowed.
How did he know Canis?
Were the Unique Monsters connected in some way?
“Yes, that’s right.
And you’ll be joining him soon enough,” I growled, raising my katana in preparation.
“Foolish child,” Vaelgorath sneered.
“Allow me to show you the true power of a Unique Monster-Vaelgorath the Conqueror of Time!
I guess Canis must have been playing with you.” Golden energy radiated from his body, crackling like thunder.
His massive frame began to shrink, shifting in size and shape.
His form compressed until he no longer resembled a traditional wyvern.
Instead, Vaelgorath now stood in a humanoid form colored in gold.
His new body retained many of his monstrous features-thick, shimmering scales covered his skin, and his eyes burned with an even fiercer light.
His talon-like hands flexed menacingly, and though he only had one wing left, it radiated enough power to rival a storm.
“This is my true form,” Vaelgorath declared, his voice now colder and more precise.
“Are you ready?” A wave of fear washed over me.
This new form radiated an even greater sense of dread than before.
Could I truly defeat him?
But I couldn’t hesitate now.
I had to win.
No matter what.
