Chapter 127: Akumetsu!
(Demon’s Annihilation!) Chapter 127: Akumetsu!
(Demon’s Annihilation!) Nao’s POV: I managed to bring Vorx back to her senses and purify her curse.
The same went for Zorx.
The dark malice that had once consumed them was completely gone.
A wave of relief washed over me, knowing I had succeeded.
But even so, a pressing question lingered in my mind-one that I couldn’t ignore.
What exactly was the curse that the Demon King had implanted in Vorx and Zorx?
And who was this “God (???)”?
The weight of the unknown gnawed at me as I turned to them, my voice carrying both curiosity and concern.
“Vorx…
Zorx…
What kind of curse was placed upon your bodies and souls?
And who is this ‘God (???)’?” Vorx furrowed her brows, struggling to recall the past.
“I…
don’t remember much about the process.
But one thing is certain-the curse was given to us by the Overlords, through the Demon King’s blood, which carried his will.
After drinking it, my brother and I lost consciousness.
And when we awoke…
we had gained tremendous power and were reborn as Demon Warlords.” Zorx nodded, his expression dark.
“That’s right.
We obtained overwhelming strength…
but in exchange, the curse took hold of us.
Our hatred for humans grew stronger by the day.
Our thirst for blood became insatiable.
And if we didn’t kill, the rage inside us would consume us…
turning us into mindless beasts.” I clenched my fists.
The implications of this curse were far worse than I had imagined.
“I don’t know anything about this ‘God (???)’ you mentioned,” Zorx continued.
“But one thing is clear-all demons, especially high-ranking ones like the Overlords, bear this curse.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
That’s why this war will never end.
As long as the curse exists…
demons will always be driven to slaughter humans.” His voice trembled with frustration as he clenched his hands into fists.
So that’s how it was…
The root of this conflict wasn’t just hatred-it was this curse, binding demons in an endless cycle of bloodshed.
“Zorx, Vorx…
I swear, I will uncover the truth behind this curse.
And I will free the demon race from its suffering!” I declared with unwavering resolve.
Vorx’s eyes widened slightly before softening into a faint smile.
“That’s…
something to look forward to.
But before that, Naoki…
you must first defeat Vaelgorath.
Let us help you.” “Help…?” I blinked, unsure of what she meant.
Vorx took a deep breath before continuing, her voice filled with determination.
“My body is still one of Vaelgorath’s vessels.
I can hold him back for a few seconds-just enough to stop him from using his abilities.
But…
my soul, as well as Zorx’s, won’t last much longer.
Before we disappear, we will aid you!” “Do you see that floating core?
That is Vaelgorath’s soul core-the very thing controlling his body right now.
I will open a direct path to it.
Once you’re outside, you must strike it the moment I give you the signal.
This is the only way to defeat him…
I know you can do it.” Vorx spoke to me with unwavering confidence.
I hesitated.
“I see…
If that’s the only way, then…
I’ll accept your help.” Zorx smirked.
“If Vorx is helping you that way…
then I’ll give you a parting gift.
I’m sure you’ll love it.
Just wait and see.” Slowly, their bodies began to fade, becoming more transparent.
They didn’t have much time left.
“Vorx!
Zorx!” I called out their names, my heart tightening with sadness.
Even though they were demons…
I couldn’t deny the bond we had formed.
Through them, I had come to understand the demons’ side of this war.
I reached out, trying to grasp their hands-but my fingers passed right through them.
The realm around us was crumbling, and my body was being pulled away.
This could only mean one thing-Vaelgorath’s consciousness was regaining control.
Vorx and Zorx simply smiled at me.
“Naoki von Blackmore…
I am truly grateful,” Zorx said.
“You freed my sister and me from our cursed fate.
We may not have fought, but I can tell…
You are just as strong as Cain.
Perhaps even stronger.
That’s why…
my gift will surely be of use to you.
Until we meet again.” He raised a hand in farewell before embracing Vorx.
“Naoki…” Vorx’s voice trembled.
“My brother and I…
We cannot atone for all the humans we have killed.
No matter what awaits us-hell or otherwise-we will accept our fate, as long as we are together.
Thank you for saving us.
I look forward to the future you will create.” Tears streamed down her cheeks as she smiled sincerely, a genuine expression free from the madness of the curse.
As our farewell reached its end, Vorx suddenly called out to me.
“Naoki!
If you ever meet Lilith, tell her that I was saved because of you!
She is my dearest friend…
If you ever find yourself struggling against the demons, she will surely help you!
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!!” Her voice rang out like a final burst of life before fading into the light.
Vorx and Zorx held each other close as their bodies dissolved into radiant energy, illuminating the realm and creating a path for my return.
I felt my body being pulled away, back into the physical world-back into the body of Naoki, now controlled by Envi.
“…Goodbye, Vorx…
Zorx…” With those final words, my consciousness returned to reality.
…
Envi’s POV: I plunged the Kagegiri katana deep into Vaelgorath’s chest, allowing Nao’s soul to enter his inner realm and uncover his weakness.
Holding my blade firmly in place, I braced myself against his furious blows, each one shaking my entire body.
“Hey, Nao!
Have you made it inside?!
Give me a damn answer!” I kept calling out to him in my mind, but there was no response.
“Tch…
Damn it, he must’ve already gone in and started his mission.
Fine then, time to go all out against this ugly bastard!” With a sharp breath, I ripped my katana free and launched another attack on Vaelgorath.
I had to buy time-time until Nao returned to me with Vaelgorath’s weakness.
But damn it, he was taking forever!
I was running out of stamina, and to make things worse, this cheating monster was practically immortal!
No matter how many times I struck, no matter how much damage I inflicted, he just kept regenerating.
Hurry the hell up, Nao!
I know you can beat this thing, so get back here already, you bastard!!
Just as I screamed that in my mind, Vaelgorath unleashed an overwhelming surge of aura and magic.
The sheer force of it sent chills down my spine-it was suffocating.
He was resisting my [Shogun’s Dominion], trying to break free from my suppression.
“Pathetic human…
You will never defeat me!
KUHAHAHAHA!” Vaelgorath’s laughter echoed like thunder.
“Now vanish from this world!
Taste the ultimate skill that can slay even the gods themselves!!” A vortex of pure destruction formed at the core of his being, condensing into a devastating sphere of magic.
The energy spiraled out of control, radiating enough power to erase everything in this realm.
“Shit!
This attack…
it’s bad-REALLY bad!
How the hell am I supposed to stop it?!” Panic surged through me.
I needed a plan.
I needed- “NAO, YOU BASTARD!
GET BACK HERE!!” I screamed, both in my mind and out loud.
Then- A crack.
A faint glow seeped from a fracture in Vaelgorath’s chest-the very spot where I had stabbed him with my katana earlier.
And then- “I CAN HEAR YOU, YOU DAMN SYSTEM!
QUIT WHINING AND HAND ME BACK NAOKI’S BODY!!” Nao’s voice.
The glowing light shot toward me, colliding with my body and merging into me.
In that instant, control over Naoki’s body slipped from my grasp-Nao had returned.
He stood firm, gripping Kagegiri tightly, his presence unwavering.
“Geez, Envi…
I leave for one moment and you’re already struggling like this?” He let out a mocking chuckle.
“Guess you really can’t do anything without me, huh?” “HEY, YOU LITTLE SHIT!
‘ONE MOMENT’ MY ASS!
I ALMOST DIED OUT HERE!!” I yelled at him from within the system realm.
Nao just smirked.
“Whatever.
Enough complaining-get ready, Envi.
Vaelgorath is about to finish this battle with that’s attack.” His grip on the katana tightened.
Dark magic swirled around him, pulsing with raw energy as he prepared to strike.
Inside my mind, I could only say one thing- “I trust you, buddy.
Now go and take down that bastard Vaelgorath!” …
Nao’s POV: I had finally reclaimed control over Naoki’s body.
A surge of overwhelming power coursed through me-Dark Magic erupted from my body like a raging storm.
I could feel it-my movements were faster, my strength had skyrocketed.
The Dark Magic armor of Kagegiri gleamed ominously, exuding an aura of absolute resilience.
With a firm grip on my katana, I steeled my resolve.
“With this power… I can definitely defeat Vaelgorath!” I took a deep breath and prepared for battle.
I reminded myself of my purpose-my true reason for fighting.
I had to save my older sister, Nana.
But that wasn’t all.
I wanted to protect everyone I cared about in this world.
If I lost here, everything would be over.
The world would be destroyed before the Demon King even had a chance to rise.
I HAVE TO DEFEAT VAELGORATH HERE AND NOW!
At that moment, [Power of Incarnation] activated!
My mind raced.
I needed an ability strong enough to split Vaelgorath apart-no, more than that.
To sever him completely, I had to cut through time itself!
A system notification appeared before me: — [You have acquired the Black Flame skill!] [Power of Incarnation has leveled up!] [Power of Incarnation has created a new skill by using Black Flame!] [New skill acquired: Ultimate Dark Magic-Akumetsu (Demon’s Annihilation)] — I was surprised to see this notification, Black Flame?
Is that a gift that Zorx gave me?
Besides that, I also managed to create a new skill..Akumetsu.
“KUHAHAHA!
What are you trying to do?
It’s useless!” Vaelgorath sneered.
“My attack will erase everything it touches from existence!
Its radius spans thousands of kilometers… perhaps even your beloved Braveheart Kingdom will be reduced to nothing!
KUHAHAHAHA!” I met his gaze, unwavering.
“NOW, PERISH!
[Ultimate Skill: Annihilation Time Explosion]!” This was his strongest attack-the pinnacle of his destructive power.
He had accumulated fear and death itself through his Annihilation Loops, condensing it all into an enormous sphere of dark energy.
This wasn’t just an explosion-it was an attack that reversed time for everything caught in its blast, erasing their existence completely.
A cataclysmic surge of magic shattered my domain and began devouring the surrounding area, turning everything into absolute nothingness.
Inside my mind, Envi’s panicked voice rang out, urging me to act.
I took a deep breath.
“Vorx… Zorx… I trust you.
Give me an opening to end this!” Suddenly- A brilliant light erupted from Vaelgorath’s chest, traveling up to his forehead.
His skin split open, revealing a pulsating soul core embedded in his brow.
That light-there was no mistaking it.
“Vorx, Zorx… this is your doing, isn’t it?” They had given me a single, crucial moment.
Seizing my chance, I roared- “THE ONE WHO WILL BE ERASED HERE IS YOU, VAELGORATH!
TAKE THIS!
[ULTIMATE DARK MAGIC: AKUMETSU]!!” I poured everything into this one strike-all of my Dark Magic, every last ounce of power I had left.
With a final, decisive swing, I unleashed a slash that erased everything in its path-cutting through space and time itself.
The black tempest tore through the battlefield, nullifying Vaelgorath’s attack as if it were nothing.
My blade cut through him in an instant- SLASH!
A single strike.
A clean, absolute cut.
Vaelgorath’s body was cleaved in two-his soul core utterly annihilated, leaving nothing behind.
The monstrous being let out a ragged breath, his remaining consciousness struggling to process what had just happened.
“How…?
How could a mere human defeat me…?” Vaelgorath muttered, disbelief painted across his face.
He coughed out a bitter laugh.
“To think… the one who controls time itself… was surpassed by a human who transcended even time… No wonder Canis acknowledged you…” I slowly walked up to him, looking down at his fallen form.
“Enough talk.
Just die already.” Vaelgorath let out a low chuckle.
“KUHAHAHA… What an amusing human… Very well.
As a parting gift… allow me to grant you one final present.” In an instant, my vision blurred.
Before I realized it, my consciousness was pulled into a different realm-a space where only Vaelgorath’s fading soul existed.
Envi was with me as well.
We stood before the remnants of Vaelgorath’s spirit, watching as it slowly dissipated.
“I never expected this… Two souls… within a single body… How fascinating!” Vaelgorath’s laughter echoed through the void.
His gaze flickered toward Envi, eyeing him with amusement-especially the way he floated beside me like an ethereal chatbox.
Then, his tone shifted.
“Now… listen carefully, Hero of the Future.” His voice carried a weight unlike before.
