Chapter 177: Resurrection?!
Flareth’s POV:

Kraytheon roared, unleashing a massive inferno from every inch of his monstrous body. The flames weren’t just hot—they were alive, surging with an intensity far beyond what we had faced before. Aqualia’s ice, once so resilient, began to melt rapidly under the onslaught. Something was different this time. The fire wasn’t just fire—it radiated a dark aura, tainted and corrupted, far more menacing than before.

“KUHAHAHA! DID YOU THINK YOU COULD BEAT ME THE SAME WAY AGAIN? THIS TIME, I WILL BE THE ONE TO DESTROY YOU!” Kraytheon’s voice echoed through the skies like thunder laced with madness. His power was overflowing.

“This is impossible… He broke free so quickly,” Aqualia whispered in disbelief. She tried desperately to reinforce the ice seals, pouring every ounce of her magic into freezing him again. But it was too late. Kraytheon had already shattered the bindings, emerging fully cloaked in a swirling mass of red-black flames.

“So, that’s how it is… you’ve accepted power from the Outer God,” I growled, eyes narrowing. “What a pathetic coward you’ve become!” My voice rang out, sharp and full of scorn, hoping to provoke him.

“I don’t care about your opinions, goddess,” Kraytheon snarled. “As long as I crush you all beneath my flames, I will be satisfied!”

He charged at us, conjuring a devastating spell that launched hundreds of fireballs into the air. They rained down like falling stars, scorching the battlefield.

I turned to Aqualia and shouted, “Get back! Let me handle this alone!”

She hesitated, but she understood. With a long breath, she stepped back, watching me silently from behind.

The moment the fight began, it was chaos. Kraytheon hurled his flames at me like a man possessed, but I met his fire with my own. I smirked, confidence flaring.

“There’s no fire that can surpass the purity of mine! [Divine Flame Barrier]!”

My barrier of sacred fire absorbed his attacks like embers into a blaze, leaving me untouched. I surged forward, channeling divine energy into my fist.

“[Divine Fire Fist]!”

My punch, cloaked in radiant fire, collided with Kraytheon. He raised his flaming wings in defense, but they were no match. My flames pierced through and struck him cleanly, sending him hurtling down to the ground.

BAM!

The impact shook the earth. For a moment, I thought I’d won. But then, laughter—dark, twisted laughter—rose from the crater.

“KUHAHAHA! YOUR FLAMES ARE STRONG, I’LL GIVE YOU THAT… BUT LET’S SEE IF YOU CAN HANDLE THIS!”

Fire exploded around him, forming a pillar that climbed to the heavens. It shifted color, deepening into pitch black—flames soaked in darkness.

“What is that…? A transformation?!” I stepped back, watching his body begin to morph.

Kraytheon’s form grew in size. He was no longer just a fire-breathing beast. His wings multiplied into six jagged appendages of fire and smoke, and his tail split into three. His eyes blazed with unholy power.

He took to the skies again, his presence overwhelming. This was something new—something he’d never done before. A power gifted directly from the Outer God.

But I wasn’t backing down.

I gathered divine fire into a single point above my head, forming a blazing sun in miniature. With a fiery leap, I soared toward him.

“I don’t care what you’ve become! I’ll still burn you down! [High Divine Fire Magic: Prominence Divine Fire!]”

The spell erupted—an immense explosion of holy fire engulfed the sky.

But when the flames cleared…

He was still there.

Not a single scratch.

“What…? It didn’t work…?” I muttered, stunned. “That spell… it was the same one that defeated him last time…”

Kraytheon let out a triumphant roar. “I am Kraytheon, conqueror of skyfire! I will no longer fall to your pathetic light! Now… watch as I burn this realm to ashes!”

His body glowed with unholy magic.

“[High Dark Fire Magic: Thousand Dark Meteor!]”

Countless orbs of black fire materialized above us, turning the sky into a canvas of impending destruction. They rained down with devastating force, scorching the earth, tearing through everything. I couldn’t absorb it all—his range was too wide, his power too overwhelming.

“You bastard! Fight ME, not the world!” I shouted, rocketing upward to strike him down and force his focus on me.

Our fists and spells collided midair, over and over again.

Neither of us held back. There would be no second chances.

….

Suddenly, I felt it—an overwhelming surge of divine energy rippling through the skies. The barrier… it had been fully restored.

That could only be Miranda’s doing. She had succeeded in restoring the Sacred Barrier of Cosmoria.

With the barrier active, every enemy within its confines would have their power halved, and no aid could be summoned from the outside. It isolated them completely, cutting off reinforcements and forcing them to fight under our terms.

Kraytheon likely felt it too. The change in atmosphere was undeniable.

Aqualia sprang into action without hesitation. She couldn’t allow Kraytheon’s infernal rain to devastate our realm. With a swift motion and a deep breath, she raised her staff high and invoked one of her most potent spells:

[High Divine Water Magic: Water Atmosphere]

The skies shifted. A wall of divine water vapor spread like a dome over Cosmoria, neutralizing Kraytheon’s flames as they descended. Each fiery projectile fizzled into harmless steam before it could touch the ground.

It worked.

Kraytheon’s expression twisted in rage as he realized his fire was now being countered. He snarled, then with a burst of dark flame, launched himself high into the sky. His target was clear—the barrier itself.

He intended to destroy it.

But I wouldn’t let him.

Without wasting a second, I launched after him, fire bursting from my limbs like jets as I accelerated through the air. I could see him preparing his next move—concentrating all his infernal energy into his mouth, forming a searing laser of destruction aimed straight at the Sacred Barrier.

I arrived just in time, placing myself between his attack and the barrier. My own energy surged.

[Divine Fire Magic Barrier: Focused Core Shield]

A concentrated barrier formed directly in front of me, designed specifically to absorb fire-based magic in a single focal point.

Kraytheon unleashed his beam—pure chaos, pure wrath—and I met it head-on.

My shield drank in the fire, unraveling it thread by thread until nothing remained. I stood, unharmed, in the center of his fury.

“YOU AGAIN?!” Kraytheon bellowed, his voice raw with frustration. “DAMNED FIRE GOD!”

I grinned at him through the flickering light. “That’s right. I’m not going anywhere. Now come on, let’s see that filthy fire magic of yours. Give me your best!”

Fueled by rage, Kraytheon screamed and invoked his most dangerous spell.

[Ultimate Magic: Empyrean Tyranny of the Skyfire]

The skies split open above us.

He opened the Heavenly Gate—a rift between the mortal world and the burning planes ruled by the Outer God. Through it, a legion of Skyfire Wyrms descended—plasma dragons wreathed in black and red lightning, each one a living weapon of annihilation.

These wyrms carried devastating effects: their presence alone inflicted massive burn damage and weakened physical and magical defenses by 40%. They served as both his offense and defense—shielding Kraytheon from all harm while preparing to detonate themselves upon impact.

I’d faced this before.

Last time, I could only handle two of the wyrms. The third had struck the earth, claiming countless lives.

Not this time.

This time, I would end it.

I summoned every ounce of power I had. My divine flames answered.

[Ultimate Divine Fire Magic: Infernal Requiem]

Flames from every corner of the battlefield gathered around me—Kraytheon’s, mine, the lingering embers in the sky. All of it. I absorbed them, drawing the essence of fire into my core until my body shone like a miniature sun.

Then I raised a single finger toward him.

“Sol Vengeance,” I whispered.

A beam of pure, golden-white flame surged forth—blinding, absolute, and holy. It tore through the sky and struck Kraytheon with divine fury.

His fire vanished.

His Skyfire Wyrms disintegrated midair.

His wings faltered.

And then—he fell.

He crashed into the ground with devastating force, his body broken, flames extinguished, and aura fading. Smoke curled from his blackened form.

I landed beside Aqualia, catching my breath.

“You really did it…” she said with a smile, both impressed and relieved. “You actually beat him—alone.”

I managed a small laugh. “He was overdue for a proper defeat.”

But even as I allowed myself a moment of pride, unease crept in.

I narrowed my eyes. Something felt… wrong.

“I don’t like this,” I muttered. “It doesn’t feel over.”

My instincts were right.

Suddenly, Kraytheon’s body twitched.

Dark magic pulsed from his shattered remains. A black mist gathered, wrapping around him, mending his body, stitching together charred flesh and shattered bone.

He stood again.

Flames reignited around him—black, cursed, eternal.

“No…” I whispered.

Kraytheon’s eyes snapped open, burning with dark fire. His voice returned, deeper, darker.

“You thought it was over?”

I took a step back, stunned.

“He’s… alive?” I gasped, voice shaking. “No way..this is..ressurection?!”

Aqualia’s face paled. This was the worst case scenario.

The Outer Gods interfered in this battle and resurrected Kraytheon.

This was going to be a never-ending battle!

If Kraytheon could be resurrected… then… Gor’mundr, who was being taken care of by Zarion and Zephyria, could also be resurrected?!

Suddenly Gor’mundr who was defeated by Zarion and Zephyria floated and fell near Kraytheon which made my guess right. Gor’mundr was also resurrected.

This is really bad!
