Chapter 191: Those Who Still Stand
King Aslan’s POV:
Godfrey and I were once the strongest swordmasters in this kingdom—our names spoken with awe during the golden days of our youth. While my younger brother possessed raw, devastating physical strength and a powerful aura, I was more attuned to Divine Magic, a gift that set me apart even among our elite. It was this balance of might and magic that earned him the title of Captain of the Braveheart Knights and made him my most trusted right hand.
I had complete faith in him—and rightfully so. He had just stopped a colossal punch from Xir, a blow that could have flattened our cathedral and everyone within it.
Now, side by side, we face Xir together. A Demon Warlord of terrifying rank and strength.
I unleashed my [Divine Slash], cleaving through Xir’s arm with radiant energy, while Godfrey mirrored the strike, severing the other. But Xir, unshaken, only chuckled. Before our eyes, his limbs regrew—twisting, surging back from his flesh like corrupted vines.
Godfrey dashed in to strike again, but Xir intercepted with an obsidian-blackened arm.
“This,” he sneered, “is the arm of an Obsidian Rhino from the Demon Continent. Its flesh is harder than any blade can cut.”
Then, with sadistic glee, his right hand began to morph—sharpening into a jagged, twisted black blade.
“You like swords? Fine. I’ll wield one too. This… is the horn of a Dark Unicorn. There is nothing it cannot sever!”
He swung at Godfrey with a blade that expanded into the air like a monstrous tower of death.
Sensing the coming danger, Godfrey and I countered together—our swords igniting in divine brilliance as we unleashed a double Divine Slash.
BOOM!
Our clash with Xir’s dark blade sent shockwaves across the kingdom. The sheer force blew us back slightly, but we deflected the attack just enough. His blade missed its mark and instead carved a massive gash through the kingdom’s fortress wall—like slicing through soft cake.
Stunned, we watched our once-proud ramparts crumble.
My blood boiled. My fury surged like a storm. I watched my kingdom falling, and the demon only laughed harder.
He charged again, but this time—Godfrey stepped forward with grim resolve.
“Brother… I’ll use it. You don’t need to waste your strength yet.”
Godfrey activated a forbidden force—Supreme-Level Forced Aura, fusing it with Divine Magic. His blade ignited in blinding gold light.
“Ignite the darkness, awaken the fire of resistance… [Braveheart’s Hidden Skill: Righteous Fury!]”
It was his ultimate technique—a secret art he forged over many years. It made him worthy of leading the Braveheart Knights.
Raising his blade to the sky, Godfrey declared a sacred oath upon the battlefield. Golden aura enveloped him—and me. Our combat instincts surged, our precision sharpened, as if heaven itself guided every swing.
He stood ablaze in radiant mana, a warrior of holy fire.
That technique doubled our attack power, speed, and defense, and amplified our Divine Magic slashes exponentially. It was extraordinary.
Xir’s monstrous slash came again—but Godfrey deflected it cleanly.
Before Xir could react, Godfrey had already leapt into the sky, positioning himself above the demon like judgment from the heavens.
He roared a battle cry that shook the very clouds, and unleashed his most devastating technique:
[Braveheart Swordsmanship: Divine Reckoning Slash!]
With a thunderous strike, his blade descended from the heavens—an overwhelming cleave that tore the sky asunder and launched a blinding shockwave.
The blow landed—directly on Xir.
Light engulfed the battlefield. Clouds split. For a moment, time stood still.

Then—Xir’s body plummeted to the earth, mangled and burning. His limbs were torn from him, leaving only his charred torso.
Godfrey advanced to finish him—but I saw the smile.
A wicked, knowing smirk.
“Wait!” I shouted, pulling him back. Xir was casting something.
Dark magic erupted around his broken form. His body began to mutate—shifting, reshaping. In moments, he transformed into his true form: a demonic humanoid, some part of his skin like polished obsidian, sinewy and monstrous. He has scary long white hair. A grotesque mouth opened in his stomach. Bat-like wings unfurled. And a single horn pierced the sky from his brow.
“Hahaha… Finally! My true form! You forced me into this, you wretched insects. Now you die!”
He unleashed a wave of pure, choking Dark Magic, drowning the battlefield in its suffocating presence.
Godfrey, ever defiant, mocked him. “Tch. You should’ve transformed earlier. At least now you look less pathetic.”
“Arrogant fools. Try surviving this—[Release: Dark Chimera!]”
From the mouth on his stomach, four grotesque Chimeras burst forth. A revolting sight—twisted amalgamations of flesh, fury, and death.
The beasts scattered into the city, demolishing everything in their path. And worse—the Northern Chimera we hadn’t finished still lingered.
Godfrey’s expression shifted. Panic.
Destruction was spreading. Time was running out.
If this continued, Braveheart would fall.
I stepped forward. “Godfrey. Go. Exterminate those Chimeras. Save our people. I trust you.”
“But Brother—!”
“I’m your king, Godfrey. I will face this demon. Alone. I will show him the full force of my true power. Now go—protect our people.”
He looked at me with defiance, then sorrow—and finally, resolve. He nodded, and dashed away to hunt the monsters.
Xir laughed. “Running away? Coward!”
I walked forward, slowly, staring him down.
“No. Your opponent… is me. And I will kill you with my own hands.”
Golden Divine Magic surged around me. The sheer pressure silenced him.
“Now… witness the wrath of an old lion.”
I drew a summoning circle into the ground. Brilliant light exploded from it, casting rays across the battlefield.
[Summon: Hyperion the Divine Wing!]
From the light emerged a majestic white-gold lion with radiant wings, its eyes burning with holy might. The sky lit up with divine magic.
“It’s been a while, Hyperion,” I said, smiling.
“You’ve aged, Aslan,” the beast growled. “You don’t look as strong as before. And you’re pushing yourself too far. That thing ahead… is a monster.”
“Good,” I replied. “Because he’s not my equal. He’s my prey. Let’s finish this.”
Now, side by side with the Divine Beast of Braveheart, I march into battle against Xir the Singular Calamity.
This… is the final war cry of a kingdom on the edge.
I will protect Braveheart.
I will protect my people.
And I will show this demon…
why they still call me king.

Amelia’s POV:
Arsene and I could feel it—a surge of demonic magic pulsing from the surface above us. The moment Uncle Godfrey left to confront the threat, the ground began to tremble violently beneath our feet.
A deafening explosion followed. The ceiling above the Hall of Ascension caved in, as if a massive force from above was trying to crush it into the earth.
Without hesitation, Arsene cast a protective barrier, shielding both me and Naoki from the falling debris.
When the dust settled, we looked up—and gasped.
The grand cathedral above us… was gone.
It had been flattened, smashed down like a hammer on glass. Its sacred ruins had collapsed deep into the earth, exposing the Hall of Ascension to the world above.
Through the shattered stone and twisted beams, we saw Uncle Godfrey standing like a lone guardian, his shield magic holding back the worst of the devastation. His power had spared us from being buried alive.
But now, the Hall of Ascension lay wide open… vulnerable.
And from the open sky, a figure loomed.
Floating high above—a demon, terrifying in form and presence, stared down at us. Its gaze pierced straight through my soul. That must be the one Uncle Godfrey had held at bay… but now he was engaged in battle.
Not just him.
My father—the King of Braveheart—was now locked in fierce combat with the demon himself.
Even from this distance, I could feel it… This wasn’t an ordinary demon. This was a monster of terrifying caliber. Possibly a Rank 1 Demon Warlord… or worse—a Demon Overlord.
I couldn’t just stand there and watch. I turned to Arsene, determination boiling in my chest.
“We have to help them. We can’t just wait here!”
But I hesitated. Naoki… he was still in meditation, undergoing his Hero’s Trial. I couldn’t leave him unprotected.
Arsene smiled at me with unwavering confidence. “Go, Amelia. Your beautiful big sister will protect our little hero with the strongest barrier magic in all of Braveheart~!”
Her light-hearted words made me smile despite the chaos.
“I’m counting on you, Sis. I’ll bring Father and Uncle back safely.”
With that, I turned and ascended the rubble of the shattered cathedral, climbing toward the surface.
What I saw broke my heart.
Braveheart was burning.
Smoke and flame painted the sky. Buildings lay in ruins. Screams echoed in the wind.
This was my kingdom… and I had never seen it in such ruin. A storm of emotion welled up within me—fury, sorrow, purpose.
Then I saw him.
My father—King Aslan—stood alone, waging a desperate battle against the demonic invader. I could feel Uncle Godfrey’s mana surging across the kingdom—he was hunting the unleashed beasts, protecting the people.
He had even summoned Hyperion, our family’s Divine Beast. He wasn’t injured, but he looked exhausted.
The time had come to fight.
I ran to my father’s side.
He turned, shocked. “Amelia?! What are you doing here?! Go back! I’ll handle this damn Demon Warlord!”
But I shook my head, standing tall. “What are you saying, Father? I’m your daughter—and I have the strength to fight beside you! Besides… you’re not as young as you used to be. Let your daughter show you her power.”
I smiled boldly.
For a moment, he stared at me… and then laughed.
“HAHAHA! You really are my daughter—stubborn to the core! Fine! Let’s take this demon down together!”
“Gladly!”
I called upon my magic—[High Divine Magic: Armor of the Seraph].
A golden-white radiance erupted around me, encasing me in resplendent armor forged from light itself. My fists shimmered with sacred energy, so brilliant they lit up the battlefield like a second sun.
Now I was ready.
I will not let this demon destroy my kingdom.
I will not let it harm Naoki—or anyone else.
I am Amelia of Braveheart.
And I will fight to protect all that I love
