Chapter 192: Goodbye My Fiancé
Amelia’s POV:

I surged into a higher realm of divine power—my magic overflowing, radiant and unrestrained. The spell I invoked, [High Divine Magic: Armor of the Seraph], was far more powerful than when I last faced the Dungeon Boss during the final trials.

Clenching my fists, I glared at the Overlord-class demon before me, who chuckled as he looked down from above like I was a mere amusement.

“Excellent… This is the kind of opponent I’ve been craving. What a perfect opportunity—to wipe out the entire royal bloodline of Braveheart in one fell swoop!”

My father, King Aslan, roared in fury, “You bastard! How dare you—”

But I cut him off.

“WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?! HEY, YOU UGLY PIECE OF TRASH! I STILL PLAN TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE KIDS WITH MY FIANCÉ! WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO RUIN MY WEDDING?!”

My emotions exploded. I could feel divine energy coursing through every part of my being. This demon—he had to die. I would see to it myself.

“Uh…Amelia, my sweet daughter…” my father muttered nervously. “Let your old man handle the foul language. You’re a beautiful, graceful young lady—you shouldn’t speak like that, okay?” Even his divine beast, Hyperion, looked at me like I had transformed into a lioness ready to maul.

Do I look that terrifying?

I ignored their faces and pointed directly at the demon. “Back off, Dad! This ugly bastard deserves every word I throw at him!”

Suddenly, the demon’s magic flared up violently in response to my insult. His expression twisted with rage.

“W-What did you say…? Ugly? ME? This body is my greatest creation—a work of ART! And you DARE call it UGLY?!” His power exploded outward like a wave of dark fire.

My father and Hyperion quickly cast barriers to hold it back. Good. He’s rattled—maybe I just found his weak spot.

Xir slowly approached us, step by step, eyes burning with contempt. “I will not forgive you, you insolent brat. I am Xir, the Singular Calamity! Demon Warlord, Rank 1! And I will kill you, your father, your uncle—and your precious little fiancé! Ahh, yes…he’s in that sacred chamber behind you, isn’t he? HAHAHA!”

My heart snapped. My rage surged past boiling.

“WHAT DID YOU SAY?! Touch Naoki, and I swear—I WILL SLAUGHTER ANYONE WHO DARES LAY A HAND ON HIM!!”

Uncontrollably, divine flames erupted around my body, layering me in blinding holy light.

“…Sweetheart, you’re more upset about him threatening your fiancé than threatening your father?” my dad asked softly, half-laughing and half-crying.

I didn’t answer.

Xir and I locked eyes. We both stepped forward at the same time until we were face-to-face.

My father shouted for me to stop—but I didn’t listen. I wanted to hit this demon with my own two fists.

I didn’t wait. My fist flew forward, infused with divine might, and struck Xir across his grotesque face.

BAM!

A direct hit. Yet he only grinned, as if mocking the pain.

I unleashed a flurry of punches—[Divine Magic: Holy Strike Barrage]—dozens of glowing blows rained down on his face and torso. Pieces of his body shattered under the pressure… but they regenerated almost instantly.

“Now it’s my turn,” Xir growled, and slammed his fist into my gut.

“Ugh—!” I gritted my teeth from the impact but refused to be knocked back. My father panicked, but I raised my hand to stop him.

Blow for blow, we traded hits like two titans in the heart of war. I healed myself mid-fight with [Holy Heal], slowly mending the wounds and restoring my stamina.

Then I charged forward and shouted, “[High Divine Magic: Heaven Breaker!]” My fist blazed with divine energy like a falling star.

BOOM!

The impact sent Xir flying. The force should have torn through him—but once again, he rose, laughing.

“Wonderful! What a thrilling little game this has been. I never thought you could destroy my chimera body with just your fists. But now… playtime is over.”

His smile twisted into a dark sneer. “Let’s see how you handle this… [High Dark Magic: Hundred Chimeras Party!]”

From his cursed, gaping body, hundreds of chimeras oozed out, grotesque and malformed—clearly the twisted results of years of experimentation.

“YOU UGLY, COWARDLY DEMON!” I roared, unleashing [Holy Bind] to restrain them and following up with [Holy Strike], smashing them one by one.

My father summoned Hyperion, who roared and cast [Absolute Divine Barrier], sealing a 100-meter radius in sacred light. No chimera would escape this prison of holy power.

We fought side by side.

My father cut down hordes of monsters with shining blades, Hyperion clawed and tore them apart, and I released [Divine Magic: Light of Purify]—a wave of blinding holy radiance that vaporized the darkness within the chimeras.

But no matter how many we destroyed… they just kept coming.

Wave after wave, they poured out of Xir. We were running out of time. There was only one solution now:

We had to take out Xir.

….

Suddenly, my father said, “Amelia… I’m going to unleash one of my strongest attacks. Please protect me with your magic.”

He smiled at me, his resolve now firm. I was actually worried about his condition. He had been gravely ill for the past three years.

That was one of the reasons he was no longer as strong as he used to be. Whenever he used excessive Divine Magic, his heart would ache and his mana would be drained very quickly.

That was why I hadn’t let him fight earlier. But maybe—just maybe—this was our chance to defeat Xir.

“Alright, Father. Leave it to me.”

“That’s my brilliant daughter… Now let’s finish this.” Father began to gather his Divine Magic, focusing it into his sword. Then, Hyperion flew close to him, wrapping him in both of his wings.

They glowed intensely, the divine magic illuminating the entire city.

“King of the human kings, conqueror of darkness, divine messenger, protector of the people—[Secret Divine Magic: King of the Braveheart]”

In an instant, Father and Hyperion merged. My father now wore a crown and a golden cloak shaped like wings. His sword grew larger and stronger, and Hyperion’s crest appeared on his chest.

I had never seen my father use this spell before. It must be his original magic. It looked magnificent.

Without wasting time, I opened a path for him with [Divine Magic: Light of Purify, Full Burst!]I released the spell at maximum power, creating a radiant path toward Xir that no chimera could approach.

Father charged straight at Xir, preparing a full-force strike.

Xir looked panicked. He stopped summoning his chimeras and switched to defensive mode. His entire body transformed into a black obsidian shield, forming a spherical shape.

But Father ignored that and launched his attack.

“Perish, you cursed demon! [Braveheart Swordmanship: Final Move, Celestial Stab!]”

A massive light shone down from the sky upon Father and the surrounding battlefield. The light formed a gigantic sword—resembling his Durandal—that then descended at blinding speed, stabbing directly into Xir.

BAM!

It was a devastating, earth-shaking, darkness-destroying, battlefield-illuminating strike.

Xir screamed at the top of his lungs. He took massive damage. His body slowly began to burn in divine light, disintegrating, until he finally vanished.

Father collapsed to the ground and coughed up blood, clutching his heart in pain.

“Father!”I ran to him and helped him up.

“I’m fine, dear. Look—I can still swing this sword, haha…”He tried to act strong, but was quickly overwhelmed by the pain again.

Just when we thought it was over…

Something strange happened. The remaining chimeras weren’t vanishing. They looked ready to attack us.

Suddenly, Father’s eyes widened, staring at the spot where his attack had landed. I saw it too.

Impossible.

Xir was still alive—even if only his head remained, lying on the ground. Yet he still wore that wicked smile and let out a laugh.

“HAHAHAHA! Damn humans… I guess I have to use my last card, huh? Now receive this—[Ultimate Skill: Legacy of the Warlords!]”

Dark magic enveloped him, reshaping his body. But this time, something was different.

His back tore open—not with flesh, but with a symbolic rupture in reality, revealing the inner world of his mind—[Demonic Soul Temple].

From that rift, the faces of fallen Demon Warlords emerged—Norx, Gorx, Vorx, and Zorx.

“Now the real fight begins… I have inherited the power of all my fallen Demon Warlord comrades. With this, I am invincible…”

Father and I stared at him in horror. There was no way we could defeat this.

…

…

BAM!

Xir utterly destroyed us. He wielded Norx’s mental attacks, Gorx’s necromancy, Vorx’s invisible strikes, and Zorx’s dark flames.

Thankfully, both Father and I had high darkness resistance, allowing us to barely survive his relentless onslaught.

But we were knocked back into the Hall of Ascension. We could no longer stop Xir or keep him away from the Temple Hall.

Father was gravely wounded—his arm severed and scorched by black flames. My own body was severely injured and covered in blood. My magical armor had vanished.

Everything had turned against us.

My sister Arsene, who was protecting Naoki, screamed hysterically seeing us defeated.

She rushed to us, using [High Heal] to try healing our injuries. But our wounds were worse than she expected.

Especially Father’s. His arm was burned almost completely. Arsene acted quickly, slicing off the burned part with wind magic to stop the eternal black flame’s spread.

Then she focused her magic to halt the bleeding.

We had let our guard down—Xir wasn’t finished. He descended into the hall, his wings spread wide. He looked like a true demon, terrifying and monstrous.

He deserved the title of #1 Demon Warlord. His strength was nearly that of an Overlord.

“So what is this? Is the game over already? And ooh—is that Naoki, the so-called strongest hero? Also your fiancé, right? Haha, what a perfect time to kill him—while he’s unconscious from the Hero’s Trial.”

Xir began walking toward Naoki.

Then he attacked—throwing punches, slashes, and blasts of dark fire.

BAM!

“Nooooo!!” I screamed.

But Naoki wasn’t hurt. Arsene had created an [Ultimate Barrier] to protect him. Xir couldn’t break through it easily.

Xir grew furious, attacking Naoki nonstop, but couldn’t land a single blow.

Then he summoned Vorx’s scythe and launched a mental assault, combining it with dark fire to weaken the barrier.

Cracks began to appear in the shield.

“Kak Arsene… I’m entrusting Father to you…” I dashed toward Xir, determined to stop him from breaking through.

“AMELIA, NO! YOU’LL DIE IF YOU FIGHT HIM!!” Arsene shouted in desperation—but I ignored her.

I couldn’t let Xir kill Naoki.

I would protect Naoki, even if it cost me my life.

I forcibly reactivated [High Divine Magic: Armor of the Seraph] and blocked Xir’s attack aimed at Naoki.

I cast my most powerful magic: [High Divine Magic: Divine Smite!] My fist glowed with intense brilliance, golden wings formed behind me.

Xir infused mana into Vorx’s scythe and struck.

BAM!

Our blows collided in a spectacular clash. My punch held back his attack. Xir began to be pushed back.

I felt that I could defeat him with my remaining magic.

But again, that wicked smile appeared.

Then he easily cut through my strike.

Realizing my attack failed, I shielded Naoki with my body.

I spread my arms wide, blocking Xir’s incoming blow.

His scythe finally struck me—right through my chest.

Slash!

My magical armor faded. My divine magic was exhausted.

I coughed up a torrent of blood.

Did I lose?

Naoki… Forgive me.

I really wanted—

I could hear Arsene and Father screaming in a mix of rage and sorrow. But they couldn’t help me.

I was dying.

Tears began to stream down my face.

I didn’t want this…

I wanted to see Naoki, hug and kiss him…At least one last time.

In these final moments, I remembered—

The first time I met Naoki.

…

We were eight years old…

I was crying alone in the royal garden after my mother’s funeral. Naoki, who had come with his family, wandered off out of boredom.

He saw me crying and asked why. I told him I was heartbroken because the mother who loved me dearly had died.

He comforted me, picking a sunflower from the royal garden.

Wearing a cheeky grin, he teased, saying my pretty face would disappear if I kept crying.

“Take this flower and be happy again.”

I took it, and laughed, saying his flirty face was so funny.

I told him that when I grew up, I was afraid no one would protect and care for me like my mother did.

Naoki laughed, then suddenly said “It turns out that’s all..it’s easy, I can do that for you, oh pretty little girl.”

it surprised me, my heart felt warm, I blushed

“Then…when we grow up…will you marry me?”

He was shocked and flustered, but then he knelt down in front of me and said, “Yes, I promise to marry you.”

He kissed my hand gently, and smiled sweetly.

Then we held hands.

He told his name and asked for my name.

“My name is Amelia von Braveheart…Nice to meet you, My Fiance Naoki…”

…

“Goodbye..My Fiance..”
