Chapter 86: Judgement!
Chapter 86: Judgement!
Julius and I charged toward Garmr, who was rampaging wildly, his magical roars unleashing fire and lightning.
The battlefield had turned into utter chaos, resembling a fiery hellscape.
We dodged his relentless attacks, closing the distance to strike at his massive body.
My attacks, empowered by Kurogiri, packed significant force.
However, even with our combined strength, neither Julius nor I could inflict lasting damage.
Garmr’s regeneration was simply too fast.
Despite this, we kept attacking, desperately searching for a way to expose his weakness.
Garmr retaliated with a flurry of claw swipes, tail slams, and breath attacks of fire and lightning.
While we managed to evade most of his strikes, the constant exertion was quickly draining our energy.
“Naoki!
We need to figure out a way to stop those two cursed heads from guarding his middle one!” Julius shouted, his frustration evident.
“You’re right!
If we can immobilize those two heads, we might have a chance to deal with the middle one.
But to do that, we need the rest of the team to help.
They’re tied up with the minions right now, though.” I glanced at the chaos behind us as I replied.
“Then we need to get rid of those pests first?” Julius asked, determination flickering in his eyes.
“Exactly.
I have a plan.
I’ll give the signal to everyone when it’s time,” I said firmly.
At that moment, the lesser monsters were relentlessly assaulting Mia, Vivin, Elan, Mark, Nyssa, and Marius.
Some of them were even swarming Julius and me, adding to the chaos.
These nuisances had to go.
I began gathering my energy, activating my [Power of Incarnation].
Memories of a skill taught by the Blackmore Patriarch before I left for the academy resurfaced.
I recalled the way his aura moved-precise, fluid, and deadly, forming a devastating technique capable of cutting down every enemy within its range.
A notification suddenly appeared before me: [Power of Incarnation] has created a new skill: [Blackmore Swordsmanship: Sixth Form, Dark Sword Aura], modified to adapt to your katana.
New skill created: [Blackmore Katana Style: Dark Katana Aura].
Wasting no time, I activated the skill, channeling Aura Force into my katana.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
A dense, elongated blade of pure energy formed around it, pulsating with destructive power.
Unlike standard Dark Magic, this technique didn’t rely on magical damage-it delivered pure, devastating physical strikes.
I swung my katana, unleashing the Dark Katana Aura in a sweeping arc that spanned the entire dungeon chamber.
“Everyone, get down now!
[Blackmore Katana Style: Dark Katana Aura, SLASH!]” I roared, warning my team to avoid the incoming attack.
Following my command, they all ducked just in time, narrowly avoiding the wide-range slash.
The monsters, however, weren’t so lucky.
My attack bisected every single one of them horizontally, leaving their bodies littered across the battlefield.
Even Garmr couldn’t escape unscathed.
All four of his massive legs were severed, forcing him to collapse heavily onto the ground.
With the room cleared of minions, the only enemies left were Garmr and his three menacing heads, now immobilized.
Suddenly, Mark approached me, his eyes wide with amazement.
“Incredible…
Brother Naoki, isn’t that the Patriarch’s technique?!” Mark exclaimed in disbelief.
“That’s right, Mark.
I learned it directly from him.
Someday, I hope you’ll master it too.
After all, you’re a Blackmore, just like me,” I said, encouraging him.
Mark nodded firmly, understanding the significance of my words.
But before I could continue, Julius’s panicked shout rang out: “Naoki!
This is bad-the middle head is starting to heal itself again!” “What?
That’s way too fast!
Everyone, don’t let him recover!” I commanded my team urgently.
They all launched their attacks at Garmr, but it was barely enough to slow down his rapid regeneration.
Wounds that had just been inflicted started to close, and his terrifying form began to reassemble.
In that moment of desperation, Marius stepped forward, positioning himself in front of the collapsed Garmr.
His combat aura flared brightly.
“I won’t let you rise again!
Take this-[High Tank Skill: Earthshatter]!” Marius slammed the ground with his shield, sending shockwaves across the dungeon.
The massive AoE attack not only staggered Garmr but also knocked him down for another 5 seconds and slowed his movements by 50% for 10 seconds.
I was stunned by Marius’s growth.
His ability to hold his ground and unleash such devastating power was remarkable.
Taking advantage of the moment, I turned to Julius.
“Prepare your strongest light-element technique now!
I’ll combine it with my own attack using Aura Force.
Together, we’ll destroy that cursed beast for good!” Julius nodded, understanding the urgency.
Meanwhile, I directed the rest of the team to focus on disabling Garmr’s right and left heads to prevent them from protecting the central one.
Elan moved swiftly, activating [High Assassin Skill: Multiple Poison Dagger Barrage].
A barrage of glowing daggers, each coated with his deadly combat aura, rained down on Garmr’s right head, hitting with precision.
Simultaneously, Nyssa and Mark teamed up to assault the left head.
Nyssa unleashed her [High Dark Magic: Dreamslaughter], a mental attack that froze Garmr in place, disrupting his movements.
Mark, on the other hand, drew on a power that surprised even me.
He activated [Dark Magic: Shadow Sword], a skill eerily similar to my Shadow Katana.
His blade shimmered with dark energy, boosting his attack strength.
“Take this, you damned mutt!
[Dark Magic: Phantom Slash!]” Mark shouted as he delivered a powerful slash of dark magic, mirroring my own style.
Their teamwork was astonishing.
Once the chaos subsided, Nyssa and Mark revealed that the dark magic within them had remained even after the demonic entities possessing them were expelled.
The magic had left an indelible mark on their souls and bodies.
I considered this revelation for a moment.
It made sense-my earlier intervention, separating their souls from the demons, must have left behind residual traces of dark magic.
“You two never fail to surprise me.
The Patriarch will be thrilled to know the Blackmore family now has three dark magic users,” I said with a chuckle.
But there was no time to dwell on praise.
I shifted my focus back to Garmr, who was now immobilized.
This was the moment we had been waiting for.
“Julius, you’re up!” I called out.
Julius, who had been charging his energy all this time, activated [Charge!], gathering an overwhelming concentration of light magic into his sword.
“This ends now!
[Starlight Swordsmanship: Sixth Form, Radiant Execution!]” Light burst from every corner of the dungeon, converging into Julius’s sword.
He dashed forward, unleashing his ultimate attack with all his might.
The brilliant explosion obliterated all three of Garmr’s heads, leaving no trace of them.
However, the relief was short-lived.
To everyone’s shock, Garmr’s body remained standing.
His heads began to regenerate once again.
Garmr using his skill [Gravebound Dominion] to summons a spectral vortex of cursed energy that pulls players into the depths of a hidden dungeon beneath the battlefield.
The entire team was nearly consumed by Garmr’s skill, but Mia quickly cast [High Support Magic: Multiple Barrier].
Her barriers slowed the pull of the devastating force, giving us a momentary reprieve.
Marius rushed to rescue Julius, who had collapsed from exhaustion and depleted mana.
Mark and Nyssa managed to escape the grasp of the skill, dragging themselves to safety.
Eventually, we all regrouped around Mia, who was holding the line with her weakening barriers.
However, cracks began to spread across the shimmering walls.
One by one, Mia’s barriers shattered under the relentless pressure of Garmr’s attack.
Her face grew pale, and blood trickled from her mouth as the strain became unbearable.
The others were faring no better.
Elan, Vivin, Nyssa, Mark, Julius, and Marius all looked drained.
Garmr’s skill wasn’t just pulling us in-it was leeching our strength, sapping away every ounce of energy we had left.
It felt as if the dungeon itself was trying to bury us alive.
“No way…
Is this the power of a High Undead?” I muttered.
Even Julius’s ultimate attack had failed to destroy him completely.
“Are we really going to lose?!
Damn it!” Julius’s voice was laced with frustration and despair.
“This boss is ridiculously unfair!
How is he not dead yet?!” Marius growled, punching the floor in anger.
“Master Naoki…” Elan, Vivin, and Mia looked at me with worry in their eyes.
Mark, his arms wrapped around an exhausted Nyssa, seemed to be bracing for the worst.
He clung to her protectively, as if shielding her from the inevitable.
I stepped forward, the weight of the moment pressing on me like never before.
Determination ignited within me, burning away the fear and hopelessness.
“Fools!
Get it together!” I barked.
My voice cut through the tension like a blade.
“This isn’t the end!
Do you hear me?
We are NOT losing here!
We’re going to win!” The room fell silent, save for the deafening roar of Garmr’s skill.
My words snapped them out of their despair, replacing fear with a flicker of hope.
I drew on the full extent of my [Power of Incarnation], channeling its immense energy into replicating one of the Patriarch’s ultimate techniques.
It was a skill I had been taught before leaving the Blackmore estate-a move designed to end even the most hopeless battles.
Breaking away from Mia’s crumbling barrier, I strode forward.
Behind me, the team shouted in alarm, their voices filled with worry.
“Naoki!
Don’t do this!
You’ll die!” Their cries reached me, but I didn’t stop.
Each step brought me closer to Garmr’s oppressive force.
The Power of Incarnation coursed through my body, overwhelming yet exhilarating.
I gritted my teeth as the assault from Garmr’s skill slashed at my body.
The pain was excruciating, but I pressed on.
From a distance, Marius and Vivin activated [Tank Skill: Absorb Damage], redirecting the brunt of Garmr’s attack away from me.
Their combined efforts dulled the agony, allowing me to move freely.
My aura expanded, saturating the dungeon with an oppressive weight.
The entire chamber seemed to tremble under the sheer force I unleashed.
With all my strength gathered, I leapt high into the air.
My target was clear: Garmr.
“This ends here!
[Blackmore Katana Style: Seventh Form, Judgement!]” The moment my sword descended, it resembled a meteor crashing into the earth.
The impact was cataclysmic, creating a massive crater in the dungeon floor and vaporizing Garmr’s entire body.
The sheer force left nothing behind-not even ashes.
The dungeon fell silent.
For a moment, none of us moved, the enormity of what had just happened sinking in.
Then, a notification appeared in my vision.
Garmr defeated.
It was over.
We had won.
