Reincarnated As The Villainess's Son - Chapter 330
Chapter 330: Protocol.
“Alright, time’s up!”
A deep voice echoed in the class.
I glanced around as, one by one, the students set down their pens.
Leaning back, I did the same, my gaze drifting to my answer sheet.
A sheet that perfectly answered every question.
‘I am going to top every subject.’
Grinning, I adjusted my spectra glass.
[<By cheating, of course.>]
Inna chimed in, her voice dripping with disdain.
‘Who cares?’
Cheating without getting caught is a skill in itself.
It’s not like I’m stopping others from doing the same.
[<No good-boy pats for you from now on.>]
‘…..’
Why did that actually make me feel a little sad?
The fuck?
“Are you done?”
My head snapped toward Hannah. She stood beside me, her voice soft.
I smiled. “Yes.”
She nodded as she took away the answer sheet.
A relieved sigh escaped me as I stood.
Finally, the theory exams were over.
‘It would’ve been better if I didn’t have to take them at all.’
Skipping them would’ve been ideal, but Mariam didn’t let me.
‘”You shouldn’t live a privileged life,” she said.’
I grimaced at the memory as I made my way down the steps, heading for the door.
The room was filled with elves, and I hated every second of it.
As soon as I stepped outside, my eyes instinctively scanned the hallway.
And then—
I saw her.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Silver hair with a faint blue undertone, tied in a neat ponytail.
Epione walked in the opposite direction, books clutched to her chest.
My heartbeat quickened.
My body heated up.
My legs moved on their own, but I forced myself to stop.
Not now.
Suppressing the urge, I let her pass.
She paused for a brief moment, her gaze meeting mine.
Then, she bowed gently.
I stood frozen as she walked away.
Damn it. I should’ve talked to her.
[<Look on the bright side, at least you didn’t act like a creep.>]
‘…Shut up.’
I exhaled, turning in her direction to follow her—
“What are you doing?”
A familiar voice interrupted me.
Frowning, I turned to see Zenith approaching.
Her amber eyes narrowed in suspicion.
I shrugged. “Nothing. How was your exam?”
“I’ll top this one too.” A smirk curled her lips. “Guess who’s going to be first place again?”
“Wish I could say the same.” I grumbled, barely suppressing a smile.
I will patiently wait for the result just to look at her shocked face.
“You didn’t even study, dumbo.” She replied, looking up at me.
I shrugged again. “I’ll pass.”
“Oh, we’ll both pass.” She turned slightly, facing me fully. “But I’ll be at the top, and you? At the bottom.”
“We’re talking about the exam, right?” I grinned.
“What else would I be talkin—”
Her words died in her throat.
A blush spread across her face in seconds.
Damn.
She turned into a tomato real fast.
“Ahem. Corvina was with you last night?” She cleared her throat, changing the subject.
“Yeah.” I nodded. “She likes when I ride her.”
Zenith’s cheeks puffed in frustration. “I want to ride her too.”
I smirked. “You can’t, face it.”
She glared at me.
“I hate this.” Her foot stomped against the floor. “She hates me for no reason.”
“Yeah.” I nodded. “At this point, you might as well give her a reason to hate you.”
Zenith halted.
I stopped too.
“What do you mean?” she asked, turning to me.
I smiled, taking a step closer.
She blinked, stepping back.
I reached for her hand, gently holding it.
Her face flared red.
“Let’s go somewhere alone—”
A sudden burning sensation shot through my thigh.
A suppressed groan escaped me as I stumbled back.
Her kick made my leg go numb.
“I h-hate you.” She stammered, her entire face burning with embarrassment.
Without another word, she stormed away.
I groaned, shifting my weight onto my good leg.
‘How the fuck is she so strong?’
[<That’s what you get for harassing a girl.>]
‘Come on, she’s been harassing me for weeks. Can’t I do it just once?’
[<Nope.>]
‘Whatever.’
Shaking my head, I turned—
And stopped.
Aimar stood right in front of me, golden eyes boring into mine.
“The fuck was that?” He tilted his head. “Were you flirting with Zenith—”
“No, fucker.” I cut him off. “It’s what I call rizz.”
“What type of rizz?” He scoffed, taking a step closer. “Molester rizz?”
“What do you know? Fucking virgin.”
Aimar glared but said nothing, brushing past me.
“Wait!” I forced myself to move, catching up. “How was your exam?”
“Good.” His reply was vague. “Better than I expected.”
“Ah, good for you.” I nodded. “Now all that’s left is the physical exam.”
Aimar shot me a glance. “Do you have any idea what it’ll be?”
“No clue.” I shrugged.
Even in the game, the physical exam was randomized.
Most of the time, it was a Battle Royale.
I hope it’s the same here.
I could wipe the floor with every second-year student in less than a minute.
Well.
Maybe not Elijah or Epione.
“How have you been these past few days?”
I blinked. Aimar’s sudden question caught me off guard.
“Fine,” I said, softer than before. “Been working on my mana overdose problem with Yenna.”
His footsteps halted.
I turned to him.
He looked like he wanted to say something—a lot of things.
But.
He stayed silent.
With a sigh, he waved a hand.
A bottle of juice materialized out of nowhere.
“Woah, what was that?” I asked, raising my eyebrows.
“Oh, I can shift objects without portals now.” He grinned, pride lacing his voice. “It’s my new ability.”
“I see.” I squinted at him. “Anything else you wanna tell me?”
He shook his head. “…Nothing.”
Liar.
I glanced at him.
Something definitely happened, but he wasn’t talking.
His silence only made me more curious.
Wish I could just force him to speak.
The bell rang, snapping me back to reality.
“I have things to do,” I said, looking at him. “See you soon.”
He nodded, smiling. “Yeah.”
“Bye, my bitch.”
I turned and walked away, ignoring his smile instantly dying.
It was time to check on Yennefer’s progress.
*********
Zenith’s steps slowed as she ducked into an empty hallway, pressing her back against the wall.
Her cheeks still burned, and she clutched the fabric of her uniform.
Her heart pounded.
“Stupid, Stupid.” She whispered, her fingers brushing her wrist that Himmel grabbed. “Making fun of me like always.”
She groaned, sliding down the wall until she was seated on the cold floor. “This is why I hate him. He’s… distracting.”
Was it the way he grabbed her?
Or his stupid comment?
She didn’t know which one was making her react like this.
“Zenith?”
She snapped her head up.
Siersha stood at the end of the hall, arms crossed, leaning against the archway.
“What happened to you?”
“Nothing,” Zenith blurted out too quickly, scrambling to her feet and dusting off her skirt. “Just… Himmel being Himmel.”
Siersha’s interest piqued. “What did he do now?”
“Nothing much.” Zenith waved a hand dismissively. “Where are you headed?”
“Library,” Siersha replied, turning on her heel. “I need to research something about the first family head.”
“I see.” Zenith fell into step beside her. “I’ll join you.”
Siersha nodded. “Sure.”
For a while, they walked in silence.
Then, Zenith broke it. “Why are you researching him?”
Siersha glanced at her. “I need information about his first transformation into a vampire.”
Zenith frowned. “Why?”
“Just research,” Siersha answered vaguely. “I want to know more about the ritual he performed.”
“…I see,” Zenith murmured. “My mother might be able to help you.”
“I’ll visit her soon,” Siersha said with a slight smile. “She does owe me a favor.”
Zenith cast her a curious glance but didn’t press further.
Siersha used to talk with her mother a lot during their first year.
Just like how Himmel was always around her now.
“…Ugh.”
She fanned her face, still feeling the lingering heat from earlier.
“Zenith.”
She looked up, meeting Siersha’s gaze.
“Yeah?”
Siersha studied her for a moment before asking, “Mind telling me about Lumi?”
Before Zenith could respond, her vision blurred, consciousness fading away.
Her body fell forward.
Siersha instinctively stepped forward, catching her as she collapsed.
“Zenith?!”
********
“I’m coming in.”
Twisting the knob, I pushed open the door to Yennefer’s office.
The first thing that caught my eye was the glowing ritual circle on the floor.
Unlike last time, it was nearly complete.
The soft light from the markings cast eerie patterns across the walls.
“How was your exam?”
I turned towards the voice.
Yennefer sat at her desk, pen in hand, still scribbling on a piece of parchment.
Her white hair—tinged with pink undertones—was tied neatly in a bun, though a few strands had slipped free, framing her face.
She looked as elegant as ever.
“Good, as always,” I replied, stepping closer. “It was easy.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” She smiled gently. “Now, all that’s left is your physical exam.”
“Yeah,” I muttered, dropping into the chair across from her.
“Any plans after that?” she asked, finally looking up.
“Not really.” I rubbed my chin.
“Perfect.” Her expression lit up. “Then come to my home for a while. I have something to show you.”
“…Sure,” I agreed, caught off guard by her enthusiasm.
What’s up with her?
Yennefer stood and walked toward the circle, glancing back at me.
“Are you going to attend Asura’s wedding?”
I hesitated before answering.
“…Yeah.”
The Asura wedding.
It was supposed to be a historic event.
But it ended in disaster.
A catastrophe that later became the reason for almost wiping out nearly all the Asura.
‘I just hope it doesn’t affect Epione too much.’
I can’t let her die.
Her music is too good to be silenced.
“I can’t believe they pulled this off,” Yennefer murmured, drawing my attention back to her.
“After what happened with their princes, I didn’t think they’d recover.”
“The Immortal Twins?” I asked.
She nodded. “The Orth Kingdom of Asura was desperate when they lost their gems.”
I shrugged.
I didn’t care enough to get involved.
“Anyway,” she continued, turning to face me, “the ritual is ready. We just need to research a little about your space to plant the tree.”
“When can we do it?” I asked as she approached.
“Right now, if you want,” she said. “But you’ll need rest afterward.”
I silently nodded.
“Then let’s do it the day after tomorrow.” I said, looking at her. “After the exam ends.”
“Are you sure?” She asked as she studied me. “Without mana, it’ll be tough.”
I shrugged. “I don’t need mana to beat a bunch of kids.”
“Aren’t you confident?” she teased, ruffling my hair. “Though, my daughter won’t be an easy opponent.”
‘Our daughter.’
[<Say it out loud, coward.>]
‘Nope.’
She turned away and rummaged through a drawer before handing me something.
A mushroom-like object.
I took it, inspecting it.
“What’s this?” I asked, tossing it into my mouth and chewing.
It was chewy but tasteless.
Or maybe that was just me.
Yennefer turned back around.
“Nature’s sedative. To make sure you don’t—”
She froze.
Her eyes flicked to my empty hands.
“…Where did it go?”
I swallowed.
Ah.
“I ate it.”
She dragged a hand down her face. “How are you so stupid?”
“You gave it to me!” I rebuked, clearly annoyed.
“To check it. Not to eat it.”
She stepped closer.
My head suddenly felt light.
Panic crept in.
“When will it—”
Before I could finish, my legs gave out.
Yennefer caught me effortlessly, my head landing against her soft bosom.
Her arms wrapped around me as she whispered,
“Get some rest.”
Her voice sounded distorted, twisted.
But just as my consciousness began to slip—
A status screen flickered in front of me.
