Chapter 367: [Wedding By Blood] [19]
“It’s been a while.”
A voice echoed within the Abyss.
An all too familiar voice.
“Samyaza.”
Sabaoth’s voice echoed once again.
They both moved their heads up, peering through the Abyss.
And—.
Thin threads of crimson bloomed from all sides.
Dozens, hundreds, then thousands of threads knotted themselves together to form a being that vaguely resembled a human.
But—.
The being was so colossal that it made everything around him look dwarfed.
Two hollows of the Abyss were in the place of his eyes that looked at them.
“For a long time.”
There was no mouth in the knot of crimson thread, but he spoke.
“I have been waiting for your arrival.”
Samyaza smiled. “You talk like you predicted my arrival.”
There was no amusement in his voice. “What do you think?”
Samyaza just nodded.
While on the other side, Ragnar glared at the towering figure.
He had a lot to say but chose to remain quiet.
“When was the last time I saw you?”
Sabaoth’s voice echoed within the Abyss.
“Just before we left Lumina?”
Samyaza smiled, shaking his head.
“Just before you were expelled from Lumina.”
His words made Sabaoth silent for a while.
The crimson threads unknotted themselves before dispersing.
Only a few remained, knotting themselves back to form a normal humanoid form.
“It wouldn’t have happened if Azrael hadn’t massacred the firstborn of Lumina.”
Sabaoth said, staring at him with his abyss-like eyes.

Samyaza stared back at him. “And who forced him?”
“…”
Sabaoth had no reply to his words.
Instead—.
He turned to look at Ragnar.
“How have you been, child?” He asked, acting like a concerned parent.
“Keep your filth away from me.” Ragnar replied, not hiding his disgust. “I don’t need your concern when you abandoned me.”
The crimson knots moved, making Sabaoth turn towards Ragnar.
“You were the one who asked me to leave you alone.”
Sabaoth replied, his voice eerily calm.
“Now, you blame me for leaving you?”
“Who are you trying to fool?” Samyaza interrupted, smiling. “You abandoned him because you found a new, more suitable Avatar.”
“And who might that be?” Ragnar asked, looking at him.
“Do not believe this man.”
Sabaoth’s voice interrupted Samyaza before he could speak.
“All his life, he has lied to everyone.”
Samyaza chuckled. “Look who is talking.”
Ragnar glared at Sabaoth, who didn’t look away from him.
Ragnar wasn’t keen to be around either of them.
“Why bring us here?” He asked, looking around the Abyss.
Sabaoth silently looked at Samyaza.
“I can’t sense it.” He said, his voice grim. “Destiny.”
“Of course you can’t.” Samyaza chuckled softly. “It’s not your ability to begin with—.”
“I can’t sense Lumina’s destiny.” Sabaoth interrupted. “It has gone blank after a few years from now.”
“…”
Samyaza’s smile died down.
Even though Sabaoth didn’t tell him why that happened… he already knew.
“Lumina will end in a few years.”
Sabaoth said silently, as if stating a matter of fact.
Samyaza tilted his head. “Or maybe it’s you.”
A silence lingered.
Then—.
Sabaoth laughed.
A heartfelt laugh that echoed within the Abyss.
When the laughter faded, Sabaoth’s hollow eyes fixed on Samyaza once more.
“Even Kyr’Vhal’s favorite creation couldn’t kill me.”
He said, his voice echoing within the Abyss.
“No one else is powerful enough to kill me now.”
Samyaza arched his brow.
He wanted to point out Esmeray’s son.
But—.
Even for that boy, it wasn’t possible to be powerful enough to kill Sabaoth in a few years.
“Is he going to come back soon?” Sabaoth asked, looking at Samyaza.
He kept his mouth shut, but the silence was enough for Sabaoth to understand.
“I see.” Sabaoth whispered softly. “In the end, it’s inevitable. Even the seal can’t hold for long.”
Ragnar frowned. “What seal are you talking about?”
Sabaoth looked at him.
Then—.
He swept his hand.
Crimson spilled all across the Abyss before it gathered once again.
Slowly, it changed shape, turning into something ancient.
A colorful sky, an ocean that stretched endlessly, a civilization standing tall on the edge of the ocean.
Beings that didn’t seem to belong to Lumina lived in the civilization.
Their bodies glowing with faint starlight veins, two long pristine white horns growing from their heads.
“Kyr’Vhal had a weird obsession with making a perfect race.”
Sabaoth began as Ragnar focused on the crimson knots.
“Due to this obsession, he created two perfect races—Dajin and Divyan. Even among them, he made sure to put extra effort into the Divyan race, making them almost immortal.”
The crimson knots moved, untangling before turning into a different scenery.
It showed a battle where the Divyan race was up against beings that had an otherworldly presence to them.
…Gods.
“When Kyr’Vhal died and we were born, the so-called perfect race, taking that opportunity, waged war against the gods.”
The civilization reached its peak before it started to crumble back to dust.
“The battle almost destroyed Lumina. But in the end, it worked against them as Azrael killed the first generation of Divyans to form a seal.”
The crimson threads twisted once again, turning into four different things.
“The seal that separated Lumina into four distinct parts—Hell, Pelmoria, Akasha, and Lumina itself.”
The seal that brought peace to the lands of Lumina that had only seen war for almost thousands of years.
The crimson threads started to merge with each other, forming one complete orb.
“But now, the seal is breaking apart, making everything return to its previous state.”
An incursion.
A time in history in which—.
The heaven is about to fall.
Ragnar looked at Sabaoth. “Is this why you were so against me opening the gate of hell?”
“It only hastened the process of incursion.” Sabaoth replied. “Even though all you cared about was reaching Godhood.”
Ragnar kept his silence while Samyaza felt something amiss.
Finally, Ragnar asked, “Is massacring another race going to fix the seal?”
“No.” Sabaoth shook his head. “What made the seal special was Azrael himself.”
Then—.
Sabaoth’s gaze shifted towards Samyaza, who had an odd reaction on his face.
“It seems you have noticed.” He said, making Samyaza look at him.
“Someone came back from Hell.” Samyaza informed with a small smile.
Just when Sabaoth was about to reply—.
His gaze moved up—.
A boy with long pristine hair stared back at him.
Sabaoth smiled.
******
I touched my forehead.
An outline of an ominous marking started carving on it.
“What is this?”
I wondered aloud, touching it softly.
But—.
Even then, I couldn’t tell why it was here.
‘Now that I think about it, didn’t I have the same marking in my dreams.’
And even Ragnar has the same marking.
“Sabaoth.”
I mumbled as I connected the dots.
But—.
Why?
Even though I tried, I couldn’t think of many reasons for it to appear now.
My gaze shifted back to frozen Sam and Ragnar.
Flapping my wings, I moved closer to them.
My gaze landed on Ragnar who lay motionless.
A twisted thought creeped into my mind. ‘What would happen if I rip his heart out now?’
He isn’t responding anyway.
Isn’t it the best way to kill him?
I don’t have to care about anything, one move and he would be dea—.
‘What am I thinking?’
I let out a sigh, forcing myself to remain composed.
There is no way I could kill him that easily.
And even if I could, I don’t want to.
Before killing him, I want to break his arrogance.
Killing him in a cowardly way is too good of a death.
I let out another sigh as I looked up.
Just above Samyaza, an orb hovered mid-air.
It didn’t move just like the two of them.
Flapping my wings, I moved towards the orb.
‘What is this?’
An unusual amount of life energy leaked out of the orb.
It felt overwhelming to even be present this close.
I gulped down saliva as I grabbed the orb.
It didn’t budge at first, but a little force was enough to make it move.
Just when I placed the orb in my bracelet.
My vision blurred.
A being made out of crimson threads standing in an endless abyss came to my view.
Something clicked in my mind.
A hatred, deep-rooted that kept leaking from my own soul, overwhelmed my brain.
My breath turned ragged as I couldn’t even control my bloodlust.
The desire to kill this crimson being overtook all my other senses.
The humanoid being made of crimson threads smiled.
“We meet again—.”
Just when he began to speak.
Someone grabbed me from behind.
I blinked.
And—.
Everything around me blurred.
The next thing my eyes registered was that I stood at the center of the Artemis city.
The chaos that had been filling the entire city had now calmed down significantly.
[<That was close.>]
A voice echoed in my head.
‘Inna.’
[<Don’t worry. Whatever was bothering you has been taken care of.>]
‘Huh? What do you—.’
“Are you alright?”
I turned back instinctively as I heard a feminine voice.
Zeline stood in front of me.
“It felt like you were going to kill everyone.” She said, looking into my eyes. “So, I brought you outside of the kingdom.”
“Urgh.”
Just when she completed her words, a sudden feeling of nausea started creeping into my mind.
‘What’s happening?’
I groaned, glaring at Zeline who came forward to help me.
“Himmel!”
A familiar voice made me look back.
Shyamal rushed towards me while my knees started to buckle up.
I looked back but Zeline wasn’t present there.
“Are you okay?” She asked, holding onto me as I used her as my support.
“I don’t think so.”
The hatred that I felt back then still clawed at my mind while I took in shallow breaths.
‘Who was that?’
[<Sabaoth.>]
‘Ahh.’
I see.
Makes sense, that fucker is one of the beings that fucking cursed me.
“It’s been a while, Himmel.”
A familiar voice made me look up.
A woman with long platinum hair walked towards me.
Her lifeless grey eyes stared into mine.
“Can we talk for a bit?”
Esmeray asked, tilting her head.
