Chapter 377: [Wedding By Blood] [29]
Aimar’s senses immediately heightened as he fought the pain.
Looking around, he quickly noticed a few more people trying to get closer using the mobs as cover.
‘Fuck.’
Aimar bit his lip as he started to move once again.
His vision blurred for a moment, but Aimar forced himself to stay focused.
‘There’s more than one… maybe three?’
He dodged behind a fallen column, using its shadow to mask himself, watching.
One man slipped through the crowd too smoothly—steps too calculated to be scared.
Another crouched low by a broken cart, sliding a dagger into his sleeve.
And the third—Aimar barely caught the glint of a rune as the woman vanished in the crowd.
‘Ho! Ho!’
Aimar drew in deep breaths before he grabbed the handle of the dagger puncturing his kidney.
‘Urghhh!!!’
He muffled his scream as he took out the dagger.
Blood dripped down his wound as he drew in ragged breaths.
Without wasting any more time, he made a magic circle of fire.
“Urghh!”
Aimar couldn’t even control his voice as he screamed while burning his wound.
Just when the bleeding stopped, he tried to get a few seconds’ rest.
‘I need to take care of them before they get the upper hand.’
With that in mind, he moved.
From behind the column, he dashed forward, closing the distance between him and the dagger-wielder.
Just when the man got ready for him.
Aimar vanished.
A blink later he arrived far too close.
Aimar’s knee slammed into his stomach, knocking the wind out of him.
With a smooth twist, Aimar disarmed him and drove the blade into the man’s side.
Before he could even scream, Aimar twisted his head, killing him.
There wasn’t any time for rest as the woman with a Runic blade rushed closer.
Aimar braced himself.

She appeared in front of him in a blink, her blade crackling with lightning as she went for his throat.
He barely ducked in time.
The surge grazed his shoulder, sending a numbing jolt down his arm.
His back hit the wall behind him, but he used the momentum—twisting around and catching her wrist mid-strike.
“Tch.”
With a grunt, he spun and drove his elbow into her ribs.
She gasped, but instead of falling down, she slammed her free hand into his wound.
“Urgh!!”
Aimar yelled in pain as he moved away from her.
The woman lunged again.
This time, Aimar didn’t dodge.
He stepped into her strike, letting her blade graze his jaw—but using the opening, he drove his fingers into her side and twisted.
She cried out—and in that second, he swept low.
His leg hooked behind hers, knocking her off balance.
She fell—but before she could hit the ground, he grabbed her foot and placed his knee on her neck.
‘Hufff…’
CRACK!
With one brutal push of his knee, he shattered her neck.
‘One more to go.’
Aimar staggered to the left, back into the shifting chaos of panicking and fleeing nobles.
He didn’t have the luxury of stealth now.
Grabbing one of the heavier shards of wood, he dragged it across a nearby stone wall with a screech.
“Come on, you motherfucking uncle,” Aimar muttered, voice sharp and cold. “Let’s finish this.”
Something flashed above him.
He looked up just in time to catch the glint of a dagger.
Albus came from the roof, diving down at him like a hawk.
Aimar didn’t dodge.
Instead, he raised his arms and let Albus crash into him—but he pivoted at the last moment, redirecting the fall and slamming the man into the pavement shoulder-first.
“Hahaha!” Albus let out a laugh as he pushed him away. “You aren’t as weak as we thought, nephew.”
Aimar threw a hook without a word, Albus ducked away before he started falling back.
He didn’t try to attack him, instead led him towards a hallway inside the building.
As if oblivious to his strategy, Aimar followed behind him.
The air shifted as Aimar stepped into the hallway after Albus.
The cries from outside faded, swallowed by thick walls.
“You sure are stupid.” Albus said, his voice amused as he stopped in his tracks.
Before Aimar could reply—.
“ARGHH!!!”
A deep slash ran across his back, making him scream in pain.
Aimar turned, finding more of Von Casita blocking his path.
“Good job, uncle.” A voice made him turn around.
Vlad looked at Aimar with his cold black eyes as he stood beside Albus.
Tilting his head he asked. “…Do you wish an easy death?”
Instead of replying, Aimar looked around.
He noticed at least eight of them blocking all of his escape paths.
“If you do.” Vlad continued when Aimar ignored him. “Then stay still and I will grant you.”
“Do you not fear what Himmel will do if he knew about this?” Aimar asked, tilting his head as if mimicking him.
Everyone who had looked at Aimar’s life was well aware of his relationship with Himmel.
‘Not something I am proud of.’
“How would he even know?” Vlad asked, his voice mocking. “If you haven’t already noticed, then let me tell you. Aimar, you are trapped here with us.”
Aimar took in a deep breath as he looked beside him.
He wasn’t there.
….Oliver.
Aimar let out a chuckle.
The side of his throat turned into a gill-like thing that pulsed to live.
Sensing the danger, Vlad shouted. “Kill him!”
“It seems you don’t understand.”
A cluster of highly flammable gas escaped his gills, immediately filling the entire hall.
“I am not trapped here with you.”
His voice echoed within the coughing of Von Casita.
“You are trapped here with me.”
A spark rushed out his hand—.
BOOOMMM!!!!!
Creating an explosion.
******
Goosebumps rose all over my body.
I quickly twisted my body as I looked back.
‘Fuck!’
Jones was closing in at a threatening speed.
Curling his fingers, he raised his hand as if ready to punch me.
“Rejection of Time.”
Just as the words escaped my lips, Jones’s speed slowed down considerably.
Flapping my wings, I moved out of his area of attack.
But—.
The moment he reached out of the influence of the time I could control,
His speed skyrocketed.
“Fuck!”
Biting my lips, I marked Heather’s body with Andarnaur’s ring and made her float just behind me.
A blade of mana emerged in my hand that I positioned at the trajectory of his neck.
Then—.
I made the flow of mana return to normal.
“Ho?”
Jones quickly controlled his body just inches away from beheading himself.
“You sure are cheeky, nephew.”
“And you sure are full of shit,” I replied, glaring at him.
Jones chuckled softly.
Then—.
His fist hurled at my face, breaking the sound barrier.
I braced myself.
Using my face as bait, I made another blade of mana in my hand.
I plunged it at the gap between his hand and face, making sure to puncture his throat.
‘This is going to hurt.’
But—.
Before he could hit me, something pushed him back.
I looked back at Coretta who was covered in an exoskeleton body that glowed in a whitish hue.
Her extended hand grabbed Jones’s ankle.
She retracted her hand, dragging Jones along with it.
I didn’t stop to look at the outcome as I rushed back towards where the others were.
[<Is it wise to go there?>]
Inna asked, her voice soft.
Even though the place was on the opposite side of the palace, I could still feel the panicked screams of the people there.
‘I don’t have a choice.’
Flapping my wings, I rushed towards the place.
I need to make sure Aimar and the others are safe.
[<You need to look at the wolf girl first. She is in critical condition.>]
‘She will be fine.’
Mariam had done enough to not let her die from her injuries.
‘…’
Just to be sure, I touched the place that looked the most burned.
Neplh.
A layer of frost formed over her burned skin while her face morphed in pain.
Ignoring her, I focused on moving towards the place where the wedding was happening.
It didn’t take me long before reaching the—.
“What the fuck happened?”
The nearby buildings had mostly been demolished while a few were on the verge of breaking.
“Huh?”
A body hurtled toward me as I moved to land on the ground.
But…
On closer inspection, I recognized the man.
Opening my arms, I quickly grabbed the man, breaking his fall.
“What are you, father-in-law?” I asked as I looked at Siersha’s father.
Ledgar’s crimson eyes moved towards my face.
Relief washed over his face before he immediately panicked.
“Himmel!” he shouted as soon as we landed on the ground. “Look for my family and get them out of here!!”
“Wait, what happened?” I asked as he tried to run away.
“The immortal twins!”
Ledgar shouted as he rushed back.
“They are trying to kill everyone!!”
‘Huh?’
As if to verify his words, a sudden explosion echoed in the sky.
My head snapped up.
….A man with blue hair was up against Arthenis.
‘Khokan.’
I immediately recognized the man as I have seen him in the game.
One of the lackeys of that fucker Ragnar.
‘What is he doing here?’
I wondered, looking at him while Ledgar rushed to help Arthenis.
Despite the confusion in my mind, I shifted my focus away.
‘I need to find Aimar and Zenith.’
Thinking so, I rushed inside the closest building while carrying Heather with me.
The building was almost ruined from the fighting going on all around.
Sounds of explosives rang in my ears.
[<They won’t be able to hold the immortal twins for long.>]
‘…I know.’
It’s almost impossible to kill the twins, and they are well aware of it.
The more they dragged the fight, the higher the chances of them losing.
But….
‘It’s not my problem.’
All I need to do was take away those important to me and get the hell out of this place.
“Himmel!!!”
A sudden voice made me stop in my tracks.
I looked back as I found Elijah rushing towards me.
Heather still floated beside me but—.
Without a word, he slammed into me, hugging me like a lover.
“Move away! What the fuck!” I yelled, shoving his face away from mine.
Elijah quickly turned towards his girl.
His face immediately turned shocked as he looked at her condition.
“Don’t worry,” I said, patting his back. “She will heal in no time.”
Elijah didn’t reply. Instead, he hugged her body softly.
“Thank you,” he whispered, his voice filled with emotion. “T-thank you for protecting her.”
“Don’t mention i—”
I replied, just to halt in my place.
“Huh?”
Just in front of my face,
A butterfly made of pure white floated.
Sadness crept all over my mind that I couldn’t explain.
The butterfly moved as if leading me somewhere.
“E-Elijah,” I stammered, trying to compose myself. “Come with me.”
I didn’t even look back to check if he was following.
The butterfly led me to a different section of the building.
“Himmel?”
I didn’t respond.
Finally, the butterfly submerged inside a room.
Twisting the doorknob, I slowly opened the door.
“H-hey Z-Zenith, s-stay with me, child.”
My heart sank as I looked at her.
Blood dripped down from her face while she drew in shallow breaths.
“Zenith?”
