Chapter 106: Emergency meeting
With Bloodhero and, occasionally, Workharder sharing their combat experience with me, I made a new perfect morphotype in no time at all and even gave it a cool name.
〔Beemarine〕
〔Gene points〕: 28/28
Faster Regeneration X (MAX)
Fast Learner V
Thick Skin V (MAX)
Venom Resistance V (MAX)
Flying Carriers
Throwing Wrists
Danger-Averse Reflexes
〔〕〔〕〔〕
“With the 5th tier of the thick skin gene they will have 50% physical damage reduction! Too bad this was the maximum tier available…” I said, moving my arm over the 〔save〕 button.
Just in case, I checked again, but there really was nothing to add. The tiered-up genes were OP, and everything not vital was thrown out for the more important things!
〔Faster Regeneration X (MAX): +200% to health recovery speed.〕
〔Fast Learner V: increases learning speed by 50%〕
〔Thick Skin V (MAX): reduces all physical damage taken by 50%〕
〔Venom Resistance V (MAX): reduces damage from venoms and poisons by 100%.〕
With these genes, my girls will be fucking invincible! And still smart enough to quickly learn on the battlefield.
Their biggest weakness would be the common cold. But with their regeneration and our medicine, I expected they will manage.
I slammed the 〔save〕 button.
“That’s it! From now on, there will be the most elite warrior force among your sisters, girls. In the honor of the elite warriors of my old world, I gave them the name ‘Beemarines’!”
“Father, will you make all our new sisters into Beemarines? Will you give the Empire many powerful warriors?” Bloodhero blurted.
This immediately made other Advisers glare at her.
“We need other specialists, too! You sure are heroes who live and die for the Empire, but someone has to think for it, too,” Researchina snapped.
I nodded.
“She’s right. Besides, this is all very experimental. We will make a small elite squad for a start; but first, let’s go back to the beginning of this council… There were some reports? Requests?”
“Yes, Father.” Tabletina produced a wax tablet and waved it at me. “The rotting medicinal plants? We’ve gathered more than we need, but it’s hard to predict how many of them we *will* need by the time we *do*!”
“Well, just dry them. It’s very simple…”
It was another fruitful and time-consuming Council session.
As soon as it ended and other Advisers had left, Ambrosia turned to me. Her eyes gleamed hungrily.

“You said morphotypes can be only given to our children that have the latest set of your genes—is that right, Nectus?”
I nodded, still imagining the mighty Beemarines in my thoughts.
“Yeah! Ah, a pity that I can’t test those morphotyping pheromones right now. Or not—that tutorial could’ve told me to go for it otherwise!”
Ambrosia came up to me. The nearer she got, the fainter became the image of Beemarines and the more solid and real and *close* became her chest.
“You’ve got new genes just recently. This means we need to make a new generation first before there can be Beemarines,” Ambrosia said, reaching out to take my hand. “Come, Nectus… Let’s hurry with that. I’m anticipating the emergence of Beemarines, too.”
Of course, only a fool would resist, and I had 122 intelligence.

Days passed in gradual expansion and waiting. This one was just an ordinary day, one of many.
I woke up from the buzzing of bees outside the royal chambers, like usual. Its walls were thicker than those of other cells, but still not enough to give me sleep in the mornings.
I frowned and turned on my bed pallet to hug my bee-wife.
Her chest slightly muffled the sounds, but now I woke her up, too. And Ambrosia could never sleep in.
“Wake up, Nectus. The Empire needs us.”
“Mm… Five more minutes…” I mumbled into the valley between her breasts.
Ambrosia sighed and began running her hand through my hair. This was even more relaxing… But the noise outside was getting louder and louder.
And the bed pallet wasn’t the most comfortable, despite all my efforts.
We still didn’t have beds… Since we didn’t have nails!
Since we didn’t have metals to make nails out of!
I sighed and stood up from the bed pallet and washed my face in a clay water basin, using soap made from caterpillar oil and plants (“Soap” technology). The basin, made from porous, unglazed red clay, was covered in wax to make it waterproof.

I also brushed my teeth with a chewed-on tree branch, and only *then* kissed my bee-wife.
“Alright, Amby. I’m going to see what reports have accumulated since last morning. Bye!”
Queen Attendants brought reports from other bees, mostly my Advisers—since other bees reported to them—and gathered them in the Council Chamber. Thanks to the existence of the candles, I could close the chamber for privacy and quiet as I read them.
‘Oh, Researchina’s girls still couldn’t make glass? Well, I told her to not put too many people on this, it’s just a side project because scouts found some white sand. Although… Wait, they think they can cover pottery in it? Did they just invent *glaze*?! Even if it’s just a prototype…’
I picked a clean wax tablet and told Researchina to *absolutely* invest more into glazing. It would make our pottery more dependable.
After I finished, I gave the tablet to one of the waiting Attendants, who would deliver it to Researchina.
‘Tabletina says there were three Forager Bees from varroa mites, but there’s no trace of them in the hive. It looks like the Foragers caught them outside.’
It was a good thing we were on alert now!
‘Beemarines show all the normal signs of larvae development… Well, I *knew* that–Amby told me yesterday already! Writing all those reports anyway, that’s so… so pedantic!’ I smiled dreamily. ‘I love her so much.’
But the next report made me smile even wider.
‘Seriously? My scouts have seriously found *it* after all?’
I turned to the Attendants outside the Council Chamber and shouted,
“Emergency meeting, girls! EMERGENCY MEETING!”
