Chapter 176: Right into our trap
These nets were bad news.
It meant that despite my predictions, our enemies already knew something about what they were against.
A closer look at our attackers confirmed it—either because of the weather, or to protect themselves from insects like us, but these humans had more covering and thick clothing than the previous ones.
I was sure that my Beemarines would still be able to ambush the humans, but it would take them more time and effort to find or make holes to get through.
But this was no time to hesitate.
‘System, turn on the “Titan Slayer” title!’
<Yes, user.>
This was the first time I was using it and its incredible bonuses. Its boost was even better than that of the “Homeland Protector” title—a whopping 20% to all attributes!

And not only that, all allies in my line of sight got a 10% boost, too. The stoic faces of my bodyguards brightened as they felt this power in them—it was like a second wind.
With those boosts, my ultra-powerful venom and electric charge, I could take out a couple of humans all on my own, nets or no nets.
“Alright! Time to slay some titans! But don’t take too many risks, and remember—we are a distraction. Follow my lead!”
“Yes, Father!”
As much as the reckless part of me wanted to fly forward and test the potency of my venom on these bug-faced giants, instead I flew up, to a dizzying height of a couple hundred meters above the forest.
There, I continued flying in circles around more or less the same place, taunting them with more shouts as the humans approached.
Soon, they ran into the area where Bloodimina’s forces were spread—and nothing happened.
I paused my spear-waving for a moment, wondering if something went wrong.
In another giant step, the first man got close enough to attempt swinging his bug-catching net. Its stone handle was short, but the swing itself was so wide that I had ages to dodge!
And the strike was poorly aimed in the first place.
“Get forward, past it—so the net won’t follow!” I commanded, flying toward the man at full speed.
The net didn’t even pass close, and now the nets of the other two men were blocked by the first man’s body. As I glanced behind me, I saw it was made from see-through cloth that bees could’ve used as a normal-sized fishing net, if there’s any fish of our size.
The man in front of me let out an annoyed noise, and I grinned.
“The closer to the wielder of this thing—the safer we are from it. But don’t get so close you can get easily smacked with a hand! Perfect distance is about a hundred meters!”
I flew toward this point, but then jolted mid-flight from an ear-splitting shriek from another man.
Bloodimina’s forces were attacking as planned.
The shouting man almost dropped his net. Shaking the ground and crushing trees with his movements, he jumped back, staring at his legs, where several dozen bees were hanging. From this distance, I could tell that some of them were using knives to cut through the fabric, while others just pushed their way into whatever crevices they could find.
The shriek made other men in our trap realize that more bees were hanging on their shoes and pants, too. It was only a matter of time until they would get in.
Other seven humans saw that, too. Until now, they seemed content to watch and prepare themselves, but now five more rushed in with their own nets; two others kept fiddling with some things from their backpacks.
With their ambush uncovered, the rest of Bloodimina’s army showed itself. Signal drums beat the attack rhythm, and more bees lunged forward to attack and distract. I vaguely heard some battle cries.
Whenever a slap or a net swing was aimed at them, my soldiers immediately did their best to dodge. Their reflexes were incredible, and my area buff was giving them extra agility, too.
But when a dozen bees flew away from their positions, twenty more landed on the humans somewhere else. And they were only moving higher and higher, to places with less clothing and more vulnerabilities.
Meanwhile, most of their group was charging right into the welcoming hands of our army!
I raised my spear.
“Yes! Attack, my girls! Crush these assholes!”
My soldiers were too far away to hear me, and even the humans moved away in their wild flailing.
All these people forgot about me entirely, being too busy to not get stung immediately.
A great mistake. I wasn’t going to let my daughters do all the dangerous work for me!
