Chapter 69: This incredible teaching lifehack is BANNED in schools!
From a wax-covered royal pod emerged a hand. Not a second later, the same happened with the pod built five meters away from the first one.
Twenty pods, built several meters away from each other, began to awaken. This time, nobody was near to offer the emerging bees clothes and nourishment. The hive around was quiet, and even I was watching from the cover of an empty honeycomb cell.
Within a minute, five young Queen Bees emerged, still wet with their metamorphosis juices, and looked around them with narrowed eyes.

Their antennae twitched as they recognized the other Queens, emerged and those still in pods, as their rivals. Their stingers rose, ready for an attack. And attack they could, with those stats.
The air became heavy with scents of a nursery and tension.
I wouldn’t want to stand between these young women and whoever they wanted to kill… In this way, their instincts suited my plans perfectly.
But not right now.
“Warriors! Restrain them, *now*!” I shouted.
“Yes, Father!”
In an instant, 6 squads of 10 warriors flew out of the surrounding honeycomb cells. Instead of their usual hammers, they wielded skeins of rope like weapons.
The Queens gasped.
“What?!”

“What are you doing?!”
They were so shocked by this betrayal from the Worker Bees that barely resisted. In a minute, all five Queens were bound like rope cocoons, still inside their royal pods.
Another Queen, a bit late to the party, emerged from her pod—but the Warrior Bees were already there to restrain her, too.
“What’s going on?! Let me go!”
But the Warriors, like the disciplined girls they were, just silently and dutifully followed their orders.
Within the next ten minutes, all 20 Queens have emerged from their pods and have been restrained.
“All done, Father!” Sergeant Warrior reported, as the Warrior Bees moved to hang on the walls nearby. “You and Queen Ambrosia can come out!”
Finally.
I flew out from my cover—just a wax flap with some looking holes. Ambrosia, who was hiding next to me, followed right after. In my hands was a stack of wax tablets.
Oh, my heart bled to see only confusion and anger on the faces of my daughters! My lower lip pouted without my control.
“I wish this all wasn’t necessary. Really!” I raised my hands dramatically. “But I can’t let you kill each other, my daughters. And before you say something embarrassing, I’m your father and I don’t *want* to mate with you!”
My nearest little princess waved her antenna and scowled.
“I can tell, Drone. Why would I want to mate with my father? Now let me go! Or,” she looked at Ambrosia, “is this to kill me?”
I winced.
“Your superior intelligence shows… but in such wrong directions! Nobody is going to kill you. We are just stopping you from killing each other—so we could teach you things that will help you in your own hives!”
I raised the first wax tablet out of my stack. Since the last time, I’ve prepared carefully. Now my lecture had illustrations! Stick figures of myself, Ambrosia, and other bees were carrying my point across.
Since they were bound by ropes, my little princesses had no choice but to listen to my spiel.
It was more or less the same thing I told Pollenia in the past—I and Ambrosia weren’t their rivals, and we just wanted to prepare them for the glorious future. Although they were suspicious at first, soon enough the Queens began nodding with understanding.
“…And remember—Father knows best!” I finished my speech. “So who’s ready for your special training? Raise your hands—uh. Raise your antennae!”
All 20 Queens did.
“And who won’t try killing their sisters *or* mother?”
There was some hesitation, but all 40 antennae rose again.
I let out a breath of relief.
“Great. Amby, it’s your turn, then.”
She nodded regally and looked at the Warrior Bees.
“Untie my daughters… But don’t leave yet. The young Queens still have more instinct in them than reason.”
Then Ambrosia gestured to the other batch of bees hiding nearby—those were Nurses, who carried fresh clothes and jugs with nectar and cooked meat.
Since more generations of meat-eaters have been made, and more hunters have been trained, the hive has been eating meat (and sometimes eggs) more. It was nutritious and easier to get than nectar and pollen. Its only downside was spoiling quickly.
Sadly, we couldn’t make honey out of meat. Although I heard about vulture bees and corpse honey, we were just your ordinary common flower honey bees.
Soon, all of my little princesses were fed, clothed, and cleaned. As the Nurse Bees left, two other bees flew in their stead.
〔Nurse Bee〕 〔Ally〕 〔Progeny〕
〔Name〕: Equatina
〔Active title〕: Teacher Bee
〔Forager Bee〕 〔Ally〕 〔Progeny〕
〔Name〕: Shhi
〔Active title〕: Commando Bee
“Greetings, girls. From now on, I will be your class instructor! I will teach you how to read and write. And remember—better than me, knows only Father and Queen Ambrosia!” Equatina said, flying a circle around her future students.
“I will be your teacher, too,” Shhi said, raising a stone knife. “I will teach you how to sneak and to kill.”
Her voice was quiet, but she emitted an aura of a seasoned killer with her severe face.
Suddenly, the young Queens looked like they wanted to flee the hive immediately, hell or high water!
Of course, I had to interfere—me and my kindest, most fatherly smile.
“And myself and Amby will teach you how to rule your own hive. Learn quickly and make your dad proud, my princesses!”
We only had a few weeks of schedule left on this and the rest of the preparations.
Would my Queens learn fast enough?
