Chapter 633: Carnivorous Plant Chapter 633: Carnivorous Plant As Xu Feng found his mind to be cleared up from a bunch of thoughts, he felt drowsy.  His strength began to sway and it was as if his brain was signaling for him that he could rest.  He had done enough.  “Right, I’ve already done a lot of reconnaissance and can help the Battleship Lux with this newfound data.” Xu Feng slowly curled his mouth upward, grinning at the joy of accomplishing his task.

“Yeah, reconnaissance and get praise for my work.” He continued, his head leaning closer to the tree bark.

Within the tree bark, numerous spores continued to appear, emitting a lovely fragrance for Xu Feng to breathe in.

From the ground beneath, the soft soil and dirt started to collapse, revealing a few greenery vines filled with colorful leaves.  However, upon closer inspection, these leaves aren’t the regular leaves that people would admire and gaze at.

Instead, these leaves all had tiny mouths filled with teeth that drooled at the sight of anything edible.

As these vines continued to expand and spread out, they all glanced at the person on the top of the tree branch.

Before they made any movement though, some of the leaves began to hover over the fallen food that Xu Feng had dropped.  The leaves sparkled in joy, with numerous of them rushing over and devouring the food in a split second.  Xu Feng remained unaware of the commotion as he was still immersed in his own thoughts.  “Supervisor Ryan wanted me dead, but I proved him wrong by succeeding.

If I get promoted from trainee by leaps of rank, then I’ll make Ryan the janitor for every trainee’s dorm.” He smirked, feeling gleeful that Ryan would be cleaning toilets for the very people he looked down on.  Meanwhile, the vines slowly wrapped themselves around the tree bark, ascending and getting closer and closer to Xu Feng.

Xu Feng, who still seemed to be in confusion about his identity, suddenly felt a jolt shocking his brain.

“Ugnh!” He groaned and clutched his head tightly.

“Michael, Mike, they’re not even me.”  Right as he regained his consciousness, his eyes narrowed at the subtle movement from behind.

Without hesitation, he retrieved his laser gun and fired a few shots.

PEW PEW!

The shots blasted through some of the vines that were close to piercing Xu Feng.  It was also precisely at this moment that Xu Feng came to a realization that the original tree he was sitting in was filled with a bunch of spores.

‘Damn, these spores were actually concealed so deeply.’ He activated the Phantom Grappling Hook and shot it to another tree branch.

However, he didn’t fully swing to the other tree.

He chose to keep himself suspended in mid-air and glanced at his surroundings.

After recalling the words he had uttered earlier, he was truly startled this time.

Worse, he even felt embarrassed to have fallen to such a low-life trick.  “Good thing no one is nearby to see me fail so miserably.” He muttered, having gotten a clear view of what his enemy was.

A carnivorous plant, capable of injecting spores deep inside the tree to avoid being detected until unsuspecting prey delivered themselves to it.

Although extremely hideous in looking, especially those tiny mouths on the various leaves, Xu Feng also realized one important aspect.  This carnivorous plant was capable of inducing a deep hallucination and affecting his mentality altogether.

Having thought up to that, Xu Feng hurriedly threw a few Frost and Smoke Grenades as cover to escape from the scene.

Thankfully, the speed of the carnivorous plant wasn’t fast and in a few minutes, Xu Feng escaped danger and found a nearby cliff to stand on.  Unlike the last time, he made sure to check everything thoroughly, even shooting a few shots at the cliff itself to ensure nothing was hiding.

Once he confirmed it was safe, Xu Feng then began to do a body check on himself.

And sure enough, his body soon detected there were invasive cells contained inside.

Luckily, these invasive cells weren’t numerous and were actively being combated by the White Blood Cells.  “The medicine that Roy gave me was sure to be effective.” He murmured, realizing he owed the latter one.

Without the medicine that Roy gave him, these invasive cells would be like a free bird, completely unhinged in his body.  After all, the current White Blood Cells that were being produced were something special.  It had a specialty that remained unaffected by the passive effect of the invasive cells that would have rendered them useless.  Most of his defensive cells were currently put in a comatose state, which resulted in him losing his mind and nearly believing he was Mike or Michael.  After all, the body he was currently using was of Michael, and not his.

To simplify, the current him was merely a parasite, controlling the host body(Michael).  Therefore, these invasive cells were super effective.

Had they been faster, Xu Feng would have succumbed to his death here.  The jolt that he suddenly felt earlier that brought him back to sanity must have been done by the White Blood Cells formed with the special medicine that Roy gave him.  “This is really a nightmare difficulty level.” Xu Feng smiled bitterly, his eyes gazing at the seemingly peaceful rainforest that was actually a habitat for many dangerous things.

While Xu Feng began to contemplate his situation and choices that led him here, back at the Divine World, things were more tranquil and lighthearted.
