Chapter 670: Eclipse Nova Chapter 670: Eclipse Nova Star Falls City, Teleportation Platform “Is it true that the mysterious boss of the guild is coming?” Veronica, who was standing next to Carmen, asked in a somewhat nervous tone.  The feeling was equivalent to her boss in a subsidiary company suddenly informing them that the parent company boss was arriving.

“Yeah, the Guild Leader confirmed it himself and told me to be careful.” Carmen smiled bitterly.

Therefore, the two of them remained hidden from the public, considering that they wouldn’t be able to identify them.

Nevertheless, Carmen still felt extremely exposed while standing and waiting patiently for the mysterious boss.  She had heard about this mysterious boss time and time again from Xu Feng, but not once had she ever met them.

Not to mention, she still couldn’t tell what Xu Feng’s mysterious boss was capable of.

‘Feng himself is already considered a monster filled with many strategies.

Then what about his boss?

Are they a demon disguised as a regular human?’ Countless imaginary thoughts popped out of Carmen’s mind.

Amidst her dazed, Veronica suddenly patted her shoulders and whispered, “Look at that player over there, Carmen.

Could that person be the one we’re waiting for?”  As Carmen snapped out of her daze, she hurriedly glanced at the person whom Veronica was talking about.

Sure enough, when her eyes hovered over the player, she felt a sense of dread and pressure overwhelming her subconsciously.  However, she quickly composed herself and scrutinized the equipment that the player was wearing before pausing at the mask.  For a Voidmancer like her, she was quite sensitive to mana.

Thus, she became positive that the feeling she felt was through the mask.

While she was thinking of that, the player stopped their movement a few meters away from her.

Taking a deep breath, Carmen raised the question.

“Who is the one that knocks?”  Hearing that, the player chuckled in amusement.  “Healers are the ones who knock.” He responded, feeling quite embarrassed in the process.

Indeed, this was Xu Feng, who tried to play some espionage role.  Yet now that he actually acted it out, Xu Feng regretted his decision rather quickly.

‘Ah, I didn’t expect it would be this embarrassing.’ Xu Feng cried inwardly, nearly breaking off his character.  Luckily, Carmen didn’t feel the same embarrassment and merely nodded her head.

The Vanguard Hotel should have been a booming business.” Xu Feng faked his tone of speech and said, acting as if he didn’t know much about the situation.  “The Vanguard Hotel was indeed a booming business, but ever since the monster wave appeared, the business had been dwindling.

This is especially so when the other guilds began to take advantage of the crisis to dampen us.” Veronica reported, her tone somewhat chilly.

Without a doubt, she was subtly blaming his inaction and failure to do anything.

Although the responsibility was ultimately dependent on the Guild Leader, they knew that their Guild Leader had another boss above him.  Therefore, who else would she blame aside from this mysterious boss who finally decided to show up?

Of course, Xu Feng could sense the hostility from the tone but paid no heed to it.

The more hostility she displayed, the more reassured he was.

After all, she was blaming it on his alternate persona and not his actual in-game name.

“I see.” Xu Feng continued his act and glanced around.  “Hmm, where are the other NPCs?

We have been here for a while yet there was no one to receive us?

Is this how you operate the guild business?” He continued, clearly nitpicking and finding flaws.  “You–” Sure enough, Veronica was about to snap at him, only to be halted by Carmen.

“How about we stop this pointless conversation, Guild Leader’s Boss?” Carmen then said and gazed at him.

“I’m sure the Guild Leader’s Boss isn’t ignorant to be acting like some out-of-touch boss who only knows how to talk but can’t do anything.

If that were the case, then the Guild Leader wouldn’t have revered you this highly.”  CLAP!

Right after Carmen finished her statement, Xu Feng started clapping in amazement.  “As expected of someone whom Little Feng trusted.” Xu Feng praised heartily and continued, “Pardon my offense in giving you some tests.

I merely wished to see the type of people that Little Feng chose to be like.”  “And your verdict?”  “Full marks.”  Of course, Xu Feng was giving himself the full mark without any shame.

The people he chose were naturally the cream of the crop.  “Anyway, you don’t have to refer to me as Guild Leader’s Boss.

You can just address me as Eclipse Nova since that’s my name here.” Xu Feng calmly said.

“Eclipse Nova?” Confused, Carmen tried her best to recall if there was any prominent player going by that name.

Alas, she failed to find any, which meant that he decided to go private and off the radar.  Precisely because she came to such a conclusion that made Carmen realize his ability was something else.  She might not be able to tell what kind of equipment he wore unless he displayed the information to them, but she was positive that he was wearing Rare Equipment from head to toe.  As for the mask itself, Carmen suspected it to be of Epic rarity.  ‘He’s even more filthy rich than the Guild Leader.’ Carmen concluded and frowned at this stingy person who didn’t even offer much financial support to the guild.
