Chapter 718: Construction Chapter 718: Construction Shortly after the task was divided, Carmen split up with Xu Feng and Crimson Heart.

She went toward the location along with Brutus and Razor to design the Training Hall and Arena Combat.  Given that these two venues were going to be the main source of income for the town’s development, Carmen was determined to choose the biggest plot of land.  “Listen up you two.

Thus, they changed occupations to become a mercenary instead.  Alas, they never expected fate to have other plans for them.

During one of their mercenary work, they encountered Xu Feng and through a bunch of coincidences, they were soon going to return to their original occupation.

“Hmm, you are the expert, so I shall listen to your input,” Carmen said, her eyes staring at a distance.

She was curious as to how the other two were going to construct the Oppressive Pillar.  ‘Ugh, I regret not taking up an Engineer Profession, but that work is boring.’ She sighed softly.  Shaking her head, she reluctantly resumed her own work.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Xu Feng guided Crimson Heart to the place where he wanted it to be constructed.  “Oh, so we’re constructing it near the Town Hall and another empty plot?” Crimson Heart wasn’t surprised that such a defensive tower would be placed near the center.

But she couldn’t make do with the other empty plot.

“That empty plot is reserved for the Adventure Association.” Xu Feng explained.  Once a Town’s popularity and security meet the requirement, the Adventure Association would request to construct a branch.

Only when that happened could a town truly be called a functional one.  After all, numerous players take quests from the Adventure Association daily and need to turn them in.  They were truly diligent but also not-so-bright, given that they didn’t know other methods to earn income.  “Make sense.” Nodding Crimson Heart retrieved the blueprint and listed out the components that would require the most time.

Reinforced Ironwood Planks(x20), Void Essence Crystals(x5), Pyrite Bolts(x50), Shadow Circuit Runes(x10), and Obsidian Steel Plates(x15).  “Those components are easy to create since you have the materials already, but the Crystalized Mana Shards, Lunar Binding Glyph, and Compressed Energy Core are the most difficult.” Crimson Heart explained.

The Lunar Binding Glyph especially was only possible if inscribed by an Adept-level Blacksmith.  “The Crystalized Mana Shards aren’t a problem.

I can handle that, and I’ll figure something out for the Compressed Energy Core.” Xu Feng replied.  “Then let’s get started.” Sometime later, Crimson Heart retrieved an operating workbench that was stored in her inventory.

When Xu Feng saw that, he furrowed his brow.  ‘She’s flexing on me.’ He thought to himself.  Crimson Heart’s workbench was not something you could purchase.  It was an exclusive workbench granted by Yaren.

Once given out, there wouldn’t be another one, unless Yaren decided to have a new version.  The effect of the workbench was naturally superior to the workbench purchasable in an NPC store.  Shaking his head, Xu Feng reluctantly retrieved a workbench that he bought previously.

“Guild Leader, how come you have such a shabby workbench?

That’s not good for someone of your stature.” Crimson Heart quickly took the opportunity to tease him.

“It’s good enough since I got someone to willingly come to my side and seek alliance.” Not one to back down, Xu Feng quickly replied in a friendly manner.

It was a common material and the drop rate was high.  The problem was the purification part.  The chance of purification was heavily reliant on luck and the equipment rank.  Since he only had an uncommon rarity of purification, the chance of succeeding was 30%.

And each chance required 50 Raw Mana Essence for one Pure Mana Extract.  10 Pure Mana Extract would then be combined to create one Crystalized Mana Shard- of course, based on luck as well.

Upon failure to combine, only some of the Pure Mana Extract would be refunded.  And in the off-chance, the player’s luck was horrendous, zero of the material would be refunded.  In a sense, the whole crafting was a gamble, and once lost.

You would lose not only materials but also the time and effort used to get to that step.

‘Crimson Heart definitely didn’t like to bet on her luck and labeled it as difficult to pass the workload to me.

But what a shame, I don’t like to gamble.’ Xu Feng smiled and retrieved his hidden card.  The Gauntlets of Precision!  This was a cherished item that he received from the system after getting the title, Master Alchemist.

It was a title and not his actual level, but that wasn’t the point.  It was that he entrusted Fiona Forgefire to upgrade the Gauntlets of Precision.  Due to his heroic achievements and deeds for Willowbrook Village, Xu Feng managed to establish a cooperation business relationship with Forgefire Blacksmith.  Now, it could be said that the blacksmith shop was interlinked, meaning it can be used as a waypoint to teleport back and forth.
