The durability is also on another level, so people can be reassured that the item won’t break even though the shield runs out.

It just won’t be in effect.”  Although the damage wasn’t explicitly stated, players were able to see that the item was capable of enduring 50,000 damage before turning ineffective.  Added to the fact that the shield was rechargeable and could be infinitely used, the greed of the players’ eyes was on full display.
