Chapter 730: Winning It All Chapter 730: Winning It All With Floral Witch explaining her plight and feeling like she had a proper elder brother, Xu Feng was rendered helpless.

“How old are you to still behave like that?” Xu Feng raised an eyebrow and asked.

“I’m 21, perfectly legal and young.” She responded and continued, “Could it be that you wanted to do something naughty?”  “Shut it.” He hissed coldly, clearly losing his patience.  “Why so serious?

I know you aren’t trying to do anything to me.” Floral Witch giggled.  Despite being sheltered and isolated by many people, she still managed to read people.  Maybe it was because she had the gene and blood of her father who managed real-estate with such ease.

She picked up signals on when and where the type of people who approached her for interaction was filled with nefarious intent.  This was the reason why she trusted her maid.

She didn’t get any sense that she was a traitor, and her senses were rarely incorrect.  Hence, when she approached Xu Feng and interacted with him briefly, she was actually studying him.

Had Xu Feng failed the test, then she would have blamed her bad luck and moved along.  ‘He’s really someone who looked cold and serious on the surface, but I can tell he has his kindness suppressed.’ She thought.  Having an emotion suppressed was usually quite difficult to tell unless one experienced and done the same.  As someone who was forced to suppress all types of emotion, she could feel a connection with him.  “Hey, are you really mad?” She opened her mouth and asked when she noticed Xu Feng was completely silent.  “No, I’m focusing on the items in the auction today.” Xu Feng calmly responded, his eyes on the auction pamphlet.

In the auction pamphlet, it listed every item that would be on the auction today.  “Huh, how would you know what items would be in the auction?” Floral Witch was dumbfounded.  “The auctioneer is only revealing the second item now and it’s just a weapon for the Swordsman.”  “If you are that much of a spendthrift, you can pay 1 gold coin to obtain the pamphlet through the system interface.”  With Xu Feng’s explanation, Floral Witch was about to purchase one but got halted by him.

“I’ve already bought it, so no need to get another one.” He warned.

“And, is there anything that’s worth it?” Floral Witch asked.

This time, she didn’t bother to doubt him whatsoever.

She knew if she continued her skepticism, then Xu Feng would truly get up and leave.  “There’s about three or four items that might fit you.

But the amount required to win them all is going to be a lot.” Xu Feng replied.  He was honestly a bit disappointed by today’s auction items.

None of them were enough to catch his eyes.

Rather than wasting his gold coins on mediocrity, he might as well save them for further development of his town.

Of course, the same could not be said for Floral Witch.

We have no conflict of interest, and we both can win.”  “…” Albeit taken aback, Xu Feng subsequently chuckled and patted his knees.  “So you finally decided to bear your fangs.” He mused.  “No no no, what fangs could I be bearing?” Almost immediately, Floral Witch shook her head and denied the accusation.

“I’ve been honest from the start.”  “Oh, then how do you know I have resources?”  “Ahem, information easily spreads.

There’s no way I wouldn’t know about it if I can even figure out what Lethal Corp and Miracle Pavilion had in cahoots, right?”  By now, it was crystal clear that Floral Witch was playing the pig to eat a tiger all alone.

However, the scariest part was that she could be sincere and shrewd simultaneously.

Yes, she was honest, and simply concealing some matters didn’t mean she was dishonest either.

“Hmm, so it can’t be a coincidence that you chanced upon me here.” Xu Feng smirked.  “Of course, not.” She grinned in response.

“For Vanguard Guild to display such an amazing feat, I highly doubted they wouldn’t receive a black pass.

It’s just that I didn’t expect to have to wait 2 days before you show up.”  With Floral Witch self-exposed herself having waited 2 days at Sky Wind Empire to spot someone from the Vanguard Guild.  The atmosphere turned quite awkward, or more so for Xu Feng.  He was definitely taken by surprise this time regarding Floral Witch’s conduct.

Someone who could be so naive and innocent, yet very shrewd in nature was immensely difficult to defend against.

“Now I know why your eldest siblings are doing their best to suppress you.” Xu Feng said.  “They’re just jealous of me.” She shrugged in response.  “Anyway, if you want to buy my resources, do you even have the necessary funds?” Shifting the topic, Xu Feng no longer treated her as someone naive.  “How many do you have to offer?” Floral Witch leaned closer to him and smiled.

“The more you offer, the more I shall pay you.

Whether it’s gold coins or dollars, you name it.”  “Aren’t you short on gold coins and dollars?”  “Who said I’m short?”  “But you…” Suddenly, Xu Feng clicked his tongue.

Never once did he anticipate a day would come when he got swindled by a greater actor.  Floral Witch indeed feigned heartache and even stated she was reprimanded ruthlessly by her father.

However, she never once claimed that she was broke and short on funds.  ‘Damn it.
