Chapter 777: Formation Break Scroll
As soon as Xu Feng revealed himself and teased Zhao Kai’s predicament, the latter wasn’t happy.
“What the hell?” He exclaimed in shock. “You were here the entire time and waited till the last second to show up? Do you have the protagonist syndrome?”
“…”
Being called having the protagonist syndrome, Xu Feng nearly wanted to kick him straight to the enemy. ‘I just spent the last few minutes setting up complicated formations to save you.’
He didn’t show up at the last second because he wanted to look cool, but rather he had just finished laying the formations.
Did he think laying the formations was an easy task?
One little mistake and the formation would be incomplete and rendered useless.
The nerve of this Zhao Kai to disrespect him like that.
“I’ll leave then.” Xu Feng clicked his tongue and threatened.
“Wait a second.” Panicked, Zhao Kai hurriedly stopped him.
“I was wrong, okay. But seriously, couldn’t you have snuck an attack at them in advance rather than coming out with some monologue?” He continued, feeling it was a waste to not deal a lethal blow to the enemies.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng rolled his eyes and said, “I’m not trying to get rebounded.”
“Rebounded?”
“These enemies aren’t the brainless ones we have faced so far. They got reflective damage barriers on, so if I tried to deal a lethal strike at them. Then the damage would be rebounded onto me.”
“Fuck, they’re that despicable and well-prepared?” Upon being enlightened by the situation, Zhao Kai cursed vulgarly and wondered when did their enemies start to have brain cells.
“Are the two of you finished yapping?” Amidst their conversation, the enemies finally grew impatient and shouted angrily.
Initially, they waited for a while because they thought Xu Feng might have some reinforcement or even a trap prepared for them.
However, it became evident that they were just being overly cautious. There was no reinforcement whatsoever and the newcomer was merely a healer.
What kind of trap could a healer do?
“Two of you, go and destroy the healer. Prevent that bastard from healing this Gun Knight.” The supposed leader exclaimed and ordered the other two to kill Zhao Kai. As for him, he shall finish off the low health bar Colossus and reap all the benefits.
“Yes, Leader!” The people exclaimed loudly and were about to make their moves. Yet all of a sudden, they noticed their movement was somewhat restricted.
“What’s going on here?”
“Why does my body feel so heavy?”
Their limbs were rigid, and the leader soon realized the situation was amiss.
“Damn it!” They cursed aloud and glared at Xu Feng. “When did you set up a slow formation? How come I didn’t sense anything?”
Besides the formation, it required a ton of materials and setup. There was just no way they wouldn’t have detected someone sneaking around.
“I swear villains are always monotonous.” Xu Feng snickered.
“Shadow Blade, go ahead and finish off the Colossus. Leave the matter to me.” He turned to Zhao Kai and calmly said, completely disregarding the enemies.
Nodding, Zhao Kai was more or less reassured now that Xu Feng had changed his tone.

“Alright, leave the pile of rocks to me.” He exclaimed and activated his ultimate skill. Afterward, he dashed ahead toward the Colossus who had been immobilized by the power of a ragged scroll.
Naturally, Xu Feng had to waste a precious ragged scroll to prevent the Colossus from rampaging and damaging the creation of the formation.
Otherwise, things would have taken a drastic turn, given that these 5 enemies weren’t some trash players.
The only reason they were caught off-guard was because the materials used were something that cost at least 10 gold coins. It was painful to spend them, so Xu Feng had no choice but to recoup his losses by slaying these enemies for their gear.
When the enemies sensed a fierce killing intent emitted from Xu Feng, they were baffled for a second.
‘Damn it. This nuisance of a formation is hindering our movement too much.’
“What should we do now, Zyron?” Someone among them asked.
They were all restricted and somehow skill-locked. Such a phenomenon was something they had never witnessed before.
“Can’t you see I’m trying to think?” The leader of the group, Zyron, hissed coldly in response. Ever since they were trapped by the formation, he had been trying to figure out a way to break them. Unfortunately, nothing worked, and he even wasted a few formation break scrolls in the process.
Formation Break Scroll was just its name implied. It was a scroll that enabled the player to break a formation within the same level or beneath. The one he had used was of Rare Grade, but even that was incapable of breaking it.
Of course, depending on the Rare Grade, the formation break scroll could also fail to break properly.
Therefore, Zyron gritted his teeth and used 3 more Rare Grade Formation Break Scrolls in hopes of shattering the formation.
However, when nothing happened—much less a reduced effect. That was when Zyron came to a realization that the formation was definitely above Rare Grade.
It could be an Epic Grade or even higher, and Zyron dared not to even think that far ahead.
Amidst Zyron’s predicament and plight, Xu Feng suddenly chuckled.
“Aish, I thought you would have continued to use more Formation Break Scrolls. What a shame that only four of them were used.” He sighed softly.
“You knew?” Baffled, Zyron didn’t expect his sneaky action to be caught red-handed.
“Why wouldn’t I know?” In response, Xu Feng jeered at him, “I can sense the effect of it happening. But it’s a pity that your scroll is too low grade.”
“…”
Silent, Zyron regretted wasting too much of the precious scrolls.
“Hmph, even if our movements are slowed and our skills are temporarily locked. You’re just a mere healer. Once the duration is gone, we will kill you very slowly and painfully.” Zyron threatened coldly. No formation lasted forever as there was always a time limit for it or required ample supply to sustain it.
