Chapter 780: Stacked Traps
Prior to the notification, Xu Feng had invited Carmen to the party after she had killed the merged Colossus.
“Oh, are we going to share experience points? But isn’t it a little too late now that the merged Colossus got killed already?” Carmen asked when she received the invitation.
“Yes and no.” Xu Feng mused. “Being in the party allows me to check on you constantly and I can distribute the experience points appropriately.”
“So you’re going to spy on me.” Carmen grinned and teased. She then accepted the party invitation and noticed there was another member already.
“Oh, Shadow Blade’s here.” She raised an eyebrow. Naturally, she didn’t expect him to be on the scene as well. Of course, she also knew his real name but chose to refer to him as his game username whenever they were in the Divine World.
That was the point of having a username after all.
“Mhmm, I only invited the members of our guild.” Xu Feng replied. He was more concerned about those in his guilds than the rest. Not to mention, having a party allowed him to be on alert whenever their health points were to drop at a dangerous level.
“Hmm, I just sent a party message, but no response.” Carmen suddenly pursed her lips. “His health is slowly decreasing as well. Is he in trouble?”
“Nah, he’s just soloing the Colossus and is probably too focused to reply to your message.” Xu Feng chuckled. That was the only bad thing about Zhao Kai, who struggled in multi-tasking.
“I see…” Nodding, Carmen stretched her hands and said, “I’ll head over to him personally first and assist him if needed.”
Having said that, Carmen created a Void Portal and entered through it. She used the party system feature to locate Zhao Kai’s position. And that was how Zhao Kai first noticed her presence when he was busy fighting and subtly refused her assistance as he wished to remain solo.
Now back to the present, Xu Feng’s expression was extremely cold when he noticed Carmen’s health bar grayed out.
It went from 100 percent to 0 percent in an instant, and Xu Feng doubted she was killed in the blink of an eye. Rather, she had been fighting for so long and the party status remained unchanged until she died.
With that thought process in mind, Xu Feng could only assume the situation in the city had erupted into chaos and those who were trapped in the barrier should have been struggling as well. However, his objective was no longer the safety of Dawnshire City, but Carmen.
Meanwhile, Zhao Kai also received a system notification at this time regarding his party member’s death.
‘Huh, a party member died?’ Astonished, Zhao Kai took a second and recalled that he was invited to the party beforehand. He never bothered to check it though because he was too concentrated.
Suddenly, Zhao Kai felt as if he had been struck by lightning. Xu Feng was still standing next to him, alive and kicking.
So how could it be him?
Anxious, Zhao Kai hurriedly read the message prompt and his expression subsequently changed.
“Gather all members, right?” He uttered in a desolate tone. “I’ll inform them, and return to the guild warehouse to stock up. Is there anything else you need?”
“Grab everything that can be used. Don’t hold anything back.” Xu Feng didn’t bother to glance at him when he replied.
Zhao Kai also didn’t bother to make any jokes and simply nodded.
The two of them were currently exuding a murderous and cold aura. If anyone were to accidentally stumble across the scene, then they would have thought a grim reaper had appeared in the world.
“I informed them and they should arrive here soon.” Zhao Kai responded and activated his guild emblem, utilizing one of its features that enabled them to teleport to their Guild Residence.
While the teleportation was beginning, given it would take at least 8 seconds to officially commence the action, Xu Feng made sure to warn him.
“Make sure to tell them to teleport to the closest city to Dawnshire.”
With the barrier causing a disturbance in the transmission, they would be wasting their time attempting to teleport.
“I know. I’ve told them to teleport to Windermere City.” Zhao Kai explained.
Windermere City was a decent city and remained safe from the Colossus’ siege. It was also the closest to Dawnshire, so Zhao Kai had informed the rest already. He was ignorant at times, but that didn’t mean he didn’t study the geography and the map of the Divine World.

Having said his piece, 8 seconds passed, and Zhao Kai teleported back to the Guild Residence located at Star Falls City.
“I never love to waste resources, but this time, I’ll make an exception.” Xu Feng clenched his fist and opened his inventory. In his inventory, there were many utilities and offensive items to be used.
He simply hoarded them for emergency uses only. After all, he doubted he would need to use them against his enemies whom he knew well of.
However, the enemies this time were from a different plane, and he never clashed with them till the middle stage. Therefore, he had no clue about their current mindset and behaviors. It was precisely because of that reason that he was caught off-guard.
His carelessness in retaining the mindset that his enemies were acting out like typical third-rate villains had caused him badly.
The enemies only appeared unprepared and retarded, but the truth was that they had numerous plans stacked upon each other. They also happened to investigate his guild quite intensively. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have set up trap after trap—even in death.
It was just a pity that Xu Feng didn’t commit further which resulted in one of their traps being rendered useless.
‘Carmen, your death won’t be in vain. The enemies will regret ever killing you once.’ Xu Feng vowed that this debt of grudge would not be cleansed whatsoever until their blood dyed an ocean red.
