Chapter 793: CarnageBound Versus Xu Feng
CarnageBound was positive at this moment that the Honorary Elder was definitely on par with the Vanguard Guild Leader.
The calmness, shrewdness, decisiveness, and even the schemes were above average.
His calmness to appear nonchalant despite the disadvantages made it hard for him to discern his ability. His shrewdness in killing the chicken to scare the monkey was effective. His decisiveness in using his strongest attack from the get-go was impressive.
Finally, his schemes of swindling and misleading him into believing that he was cheating resulted in this current situation.
It was really frustrating to have been played for a fiddle by Xu Feng.
Nevertheless, CarnageBound must admit that his opponent was indeed worthy of his presence. When he had received a sudden order to come to this plane to mess with some other guilds, he was quite taken aback.
After all, with the main event happening, to openly cause a mess was equivalent to declaring war with everyone in their plane.
Yet when he heard the reason was that a mere upstart guild in that specific plane had the intention of dabbling into their grand plan. CarnageBound knew he had to eliminate this upstart guild and send a message to all.
‘What upstart guild? Is this the kind of power an upstart guild should have?’ CarnageBound was displeased with his guild’s intel.
Their Vanguard Guild Commander had squashed his plan and even caused a devastating loss before dying. However, she still managed to stall enough for the four major guilds to arrive and stop them.
As if that wasn’t troubling enough, their Vanguard Honorary Elder blasted through their expensive barrier and arrived at the City Hall completely unscathed.
With his appearance here, it was already certain the other players he sent to disrupt the siege had failed miserably.
Amidst CarnageBound’s deep thoughts, Xu Feng suddenly spoke up. “Hey, are you going to keep thinking and not make a move?”
CarnageBound quickly snapped out of his daze and smirked. “I was just thinking about how to kill another one of Vanguard Guild’s important individuals.”
Although CarnageBound was wary, he still kept up his act and maintained composure. He could not falter here and look weak.
Nodding, Xu Feng naturally understood the latter was filled with confusion and uncertainty.
Who wouldn’t?
They had planned so far ahead, only to end up failing at the finale. Anyone would have been frustrated and become doubtful of their plan.
Only robots would not have such concerns and proceed to do what they were programmed with.
“So have you figured it out yet?” He questioned. “If so, do state your affiliation. It’s only right to declare who you are before initiating a fight, right?”
“Hah, you’re still trying to trick me?” CarnageBound laughed humorously.
He might have fallen into the first trap, resulting in the current crisis. But he had yet to lose his rationality and expose his affiliation.
“Keep thinking and remain confused forever.” He jeered, taunting Xu Feng. It surely felt wonderful to return a taunt after being played for a fool.
“That’s alright.” Contrary to his belief though, Xu Feng shrugged. “I just didn’t want to waste too much time investigating, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know who you are.”
“As if!” CarnageBound laughed. If Xu Feng seriously had an idea on how to investigate, then why would he repeatedly question the same thing.
“Enough blabbering and take my lance.” Suddenly, CarnageBound smirked and rushed forward with his lance. The attack skill appeared to be Lance Jab, a very basic skill for all Knight Lancer classes.
However, Xu Feng would be damned if he believed that was the main attack.
Lance Jab had a very flawed weakness, and that it was easy to parry.
Upon being parried, the caster would then be stunned for 1 second. If it succeeded in landing though, then the enemy would be stunned for 2 seconds.

It was a high-risk high-reward type of skill, meant for only bossing raids.
After all, no elite player would be slowed enough to allow themselves to get hit by the Lance Jab, especially when it was a one versus one.
Sure enough, CarnageBound changed his attack once he closed the distance between them.
‘A feign attack and cancel it midway to use another.’ Xu Feng didn’t expect the other plane players to be skillful enough to learn some of the core mechanics already.
CarnageBound never meant to use Lance Jab to attack but for the extra movement speed gained upon usage. By increasing his movement speed, he quickly got close to Xu Feng, allowing him to use another close-combat skill.
It was common knowledge that once a tank or any DPS class got close to a healer, it would mean the end for them.
However, Xu Feng had to disappoint CarnageBound. His mechanics were great, but his strategy was a bit far too lacking.
He had long been experienced with such common tactics—to the point of being numb to it already.
Without making any large movement, Xu Feng moved in a micro manner, easily avoiding CarnageBound’s lance and blinding the latter.
Blinding Strike!
It was a direct hit, CarnageBound’s eyes met the full flashbang, and could not open his eyes momentarily.
Nevertheless, he didn’t panic and started running around. Instead, he held his shield on one side while swinging his lance on the other, preventing Xu Feng from sneak attacks.
Although the decision was a decent one, enabling him to stall for time to recover from the blindness, it was still far from enough.
“A wild man who swings without knowing the objective can’t possibly hunt anything.” Xu Feng commented, comparing CarnageBound to a trash wild hunter who can’t hunt a single animal.
A second later, Xu Feng cast Searing Chains from beneath CarnageBound’s ground. With the latter being unable to see, it would be difficult for him to know what was going on.
And without any surprises, CarnageBound failed to react and became shackled from underneath.
The chains wrapped around his legs, restraining and pulling him down.
“Damn it.” CarnageBound gnashed his teeth and was disgruntled by the outcome.
