Chapter 820: Overflowing Recruits
Shortly after the three judges made their way to the exit, they were quickly overwhelmed by a loud commotion.
Eager participants who sought to join the guild.
It would have been fine if they were eager to join the City Competition as a citizen of Lumora City, but it wasn’t.
Not only did most of them forget about the City Competition, but they even went as far as stating that they would be loyal to the guild if granted the chance to improve fast.
After all, their desire to join the City Competition from the beginning was for resources and training guidance to improve themselves.
As for loyalty to the city?
Let’s be real… nobody was ever that loyal to a city.
Maybe if there was an external crisis such as an invasion of their city, but oftentimes, people were selfish and cared more about themselves. Even politicians were selfish and put on a fake facade in public to deceive others.
“What kind of madness is this?” The first judge had a startled expression when he saw the desire in the participants’ eyes.
“They’d rather join a guild than come in to sign up?” The second judge twitched their mouths in disbelief.
“Xiaobo, can you please explain what they are trying to join and why they are so excited? A guild? How is that not poaching from our city blatantly?” The third judge turned to Qin Xiaobo, who had just come out from the exit door.
“Ah, they’re talking about a guild in a video game.” Qin Xiaobo said awkwardly.
‘I’ve already explained it earlier but you all were too busy being enraged to listen.’ He wanted to say those words aloud but decided against it.
To summarize, it wouldn’t be inaccurate to describe these judges as stubborn and very traditional. They were the type who refused to accept the changes in time and stick to their old principles.
However, one couldn’t really argue against them either, given that they were all veteran and skillful people who brought fame to Lumora City.
If it weren’t for that, then nobody would have paid them any heed.
Amidst their confusion and bewilderment, Veronica and Xu Feng, on the other hand, continued to control the masses.
“People, I know you’re excited, but there’s no need to shout that you want to join. Our guild has a lot of slots and can accommodate you all. Do line up neatly and let my dear companion explain to you one by one.” Xu Feng exclaimed loudly.
“Yes, please be organized and coordinated. You wouldn’t want to be interrupted when it’s your turn to hear the process, right?” Veronica followed up.
Sure enough, when the crowd realized there were enough slots for all, they finally took the time to calm down.
After all, there had been numerous incidents where they were automatically disqualified simply because the slots were already taken.
However, Xu Feng didn’t wish for Veronica to be overwhelmed and be forced to calm the crowd down again. Thus, he stepped forward and reminded the crowd solemnly.
“Ahem, I appreciate everyone for listening and maintaining courtesy. But if I catch anyone trying to disrupt the flow, then you would be given a warning. The second time another incident happens, then you would be disqualified.”
Almost immediately, the crowd turned tense, with none daring to disrupt the crowd. Of course, the premise was that prior to the line being formed, there were quite a few ruffians who refused to believe Xu Feng was strong.
Those few ruffians thought Xu Feng had done some underhand trick to best Qin Xiaobo and thus challenged him without announcing it. Very naturally, they were beaten black and blue by Xu Feng, who showed them zero mercy.
He was courteous to people who deserved it and ruthless to those who didn’t deserve it.
The few ruffians weren’t weak either, prompting the participants to stay put and not try to throw their weight around.
Whether it was the real world or the Divine World, power was everything.
Just when Xu Feng was about to check the line, he was subsequently blocked by three elderly-looking people.
He raised an eyebrow in amusement.

“I didn’t know there were going to be elderly people among the participants.” He smiled lightly and explained. “Although you’re elderly people, you wouldn’t get any exception. You have to line up and wait patiently like all other participants for your turn.”
“…”
The three elderly people were rendered speechless by Xu Feng’s clear ignorant vision. They had already exuded some powerful presence as a show of force to intimate him. Yet not only was the latter not intimidated, he even proceeded to explain the procedure to them in a calm and collected manner.
Naturally, Xu Feng might not have recognized who these three were, but he was certain that they were probably the judges from the inspection site.
Otherwise, Qin Xiaobo wouldn’t have been somewhat submissive toward them. Besides that, he wasn’t foolish enough to believe some elderly people would purposely block his path and exude such a presence toward him for no reason.
“You really are a fearless young man.” One of the elderly said in a sarcastic tone.
“Are you not afraid of getting hurt for making such a commotion?”
“Afraid?”
Amused, Xu Feng decided to play with them. He put on a frightened behavior and said, “Of course, I’m afraid. But does being afraid mean you should just do nothing? I’m afraid of dying, so does that mean I have to stay cooped up at home? I’m also afraid of the sky, so should I just blow it up?”
After rambling a bunch of nonsensical theories, the three elders were stupefied and wondered if he had a screw loose in his brain.
They had nearly forgotten about their motive and objective in rushing out of there if it weren’t for the overflowing recruits happening in the scene.
Their conversation had not stopped the stream of line moving upward as Veronica became more and more proficient in her work. She was able to compress a lot of information and deliver it in a clear and concise manner.
“Damn it, you’re making a fool out of me!” The same elder realized he had been toyed with and cursed aloud.
“Eh, no one called you a fool.” Xu Feng tilted his head slightly. “It couldn’t be that your hearing has some damages, right? That’s a serious issue. Should I call for an ambulance?”
