Chapter 839: Representative Guild
Most players in the current state of the Divine World only sought a Guild Residence built within the city. It required a Guild Certificate to even be approved and granted such a specialized building.
However, a Guild Residence didn’t mean the end of the progress or grind.
Instead, it was merely the start of the real tedious and torturous process.
A Guild having their own residence didn’t have much power besides being able to accept quests from NPCs who post them other than the Adventure Association or Mercenary Association.
It sounded great on the surface, but what if there were multiple Guild Residences in one city—especially when that city was very populated and filled with many talents?
How does one gain more exclusive and juicy quests from the NPC amidst all other competitors?
Well, the answer was none other than becoming a representative guild for that particular city.
After all, being a representative guild essentially meant you had been approved by the city itself that the guild was a guaranteed service.
To simplify the implication, think of it as a normal restaurant being bestowed a Michelin star. A restaurant with a Michelin star versus one without a star was obvious. The difference in status and the price charging range would change immediately.
Of course, that was just an analogy and a representative guild was not the same as those pretentious Michelin star restaurants.
The only thing similar was that the guild must maintain the success rate of the quest accepted to be above 70%. Otherwise, they could potentially lose the representative guild status.
Nevertheless, becoming a representative guild was guaranteed to pivot their guild to a new height.
Not to mention, the juicy commission quests were bound to be very hefty. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see one quest offering 50 plus gold coins as a reward.
And some of them could be simple quests too! It solely depends on the NPC quest giver.
Without hesitation, Xu Feng responded to the message of Veronica and told her to immediately apply to become a representative guild. Usually, the process to even become eligible was extremely tedious to complete.
However, thanks to their heavy contribution during the siege, Xu Feng was certain his achievement made its way toward the collective City Magistrates.
‘Heh, so this was the reward that Dawnshire City Magistrate had on their sleeve.’ Xu Feng gladly appreciated this reward.
He was certain the eligibility was definitely proposed by the Dawnshire City Magistrate and not the Star Falls City Magistrate. After all, the latter didn’t have to deal with the siege of Colossus, so there was no way Magnus would be that generous. Magnus didn’t have any reason to grant such a hefty reward.
Once the message was sent, Xu Feng finally opened Carmen’s message, saving the last for the best.
Carmen was not the type to send nonsensical crap messages, and most of her messages contained valuable information, followed by their occasional bantering.
Sure enough, he was right in his prediction.
Lunar Wraith: Guild Leader, I’ve stumbled across a five-player secret dungeon at Twilight Glades. The level requirement states that it must be between 37 and 45.
A secret dungeon that restricted the requirement of player count and level wasn’t unheard of in the past timeline. However, it was surely the first secret dungeon to be discovered in this current timeline.
And without much surprise, the player who discovered it was none other than the lucky charm Carmen. Seriously, her luck was definitely at the cheat level, capable of being starred in her own novel or spinoff.
Other than her luck, Xu Feng’s eye sockets nearly popped out after noticing her level. She was already level 40, a whopping 3 levels above him.
Yes, that was their gap!
Not to mention, Xu Feng could only reach level 37 after going through so many hurdles.
The reduced experience points gained were taking a huge toll on his speed in leveling up. If it weren’t for the fact that he received most of the experience points in killing the Colossus, then Xu Feng might have been stuck at level 36 for another few days.
Shaking his head, Xu Feng once again realized he had so many things to deal with.
There were too many things going on at once, but he ultimately decided to get the representative guild matter done.

With the influx of NPC merchants and traders flocking into the city, the priority would be to have a deep grasp on them. After all, these fellow NPC merchants and traders have to come to his town once it opens to ensure maximum prosperity.
‘Heh, I’m not going to allow any other guilds to get any benefits.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly. Having experienced sabotage and blatant disrespect from those filthy rich guilds, he wanted to let them know that the playing ground was no longer the same as in the past.
In the past, most VRMMORPGs were impossible to establish a guild from scratch and become a powerhouse because of the dynamics and hardcore pay-to-win mechanics.
However, the Divine World was different, and paying to win wouldn’t even get you far. This was especially true for those so-called rich young masters who topped up billions of dollars and became the sole monopolists in the past games.
These kinds of trash-rich young masters probably thought they could do similar things in the Divine World, only to end up losing both wealth and status.
Sometime later, Xu Feng arrived at the City Hall and noticed it was overflowing with people.
People that weren’t players but rather NPCs.
‘Ah crap, it can’t be that crisis already, right?’ Xu Feng had a bad premonition for the massive influx of NPCs crowding over the City Hall.
It was only then he recalled Veronica’s message and recalled the major crisis that followed up after the major event.
“Right… Star Falls City has been promoted to a Primate City, so everyone would flock over here and not other cities.” He murmured, his brows furrowed, and his mouth twitched uncontrollably.
The immigration and competitive job market crisis!
