Chapter 848: Eclipse Nova Exposed
A few minutes went by, and Xu Feng finally managed to calm Carmen down from admonishing him further.
Although it was a fact that he had everything planned out and was prepared for some form of retaliation, he kept Carmen’s warning in mind.
The Divine World was never a solo game, but an MMO game. In other words, there were bound to be times when he needed allies to assist him.
Situations such as the special dungeon that required precisely 5 people.
In an MMO, if one couldn’t even find enough people to fill up 5 people, then there was definitely something wrong with their gameplay.
Carmen’s warning was a wake-up call to Xu Feng. After all, as they progressed further, the System would definitely create situations or dungeons that had strict requirements.
Suddenly, Xu Feng realized something. He quickly shifted his attention toward Carmen.
“Wait a second.” He raised an eyebrow and glanced at her suspiciously. “The secret dungeon was just a bait to serve as the pretext to reprimand me, right.”
In the message, Carmen mentioned that the secret dungeon was something she stumbled across after grinding. However, she never stated that the entrance door required a certain condition to reveal.
To further his suspicion, she didn’t even take a screenshot whatsoever to share it with him.
Being gazed at by him who held a skeptical look, Carmen’s face twitched.
“Seriously, you think I was scamming you?” She sneered coldly and promptly sent a message to him.
Almost immediately, Xu Feng realized he got it wrong again.
‘Damn it… there really is a secret dungeon.’ He cursed silently, having realized he had just gambled hard and lost big.
In the message, it was precisely a screenshot of her standing next to the secret dungeon entrance door. Along with that was a system notification prompt that she was the first to discover the secret dungeon, Testimony Of Will.
She could have fabricated the dungeon entrance, but she definitely could not fabricate the System Notification.
“I was just about to let you off easily, Guild Leader.” Carmen suddenly said, her hand slowly forming a fist.
“I think there’s been a misunderstanding, Carmen. You see, I was sick lately so my brain was going haywire.” Xu Feng tried to explain himself.
Alas, no one would have believed his so-called explanation.
Sick?
If he was sick, then why did he travel to Lumora City and cause such a big mess?
“I’ve already been informed that you were quite lively from Veronica and Zhao Kai.” She clicked her tongue and stretched her neck.
“Those two snitches.” Xu Feng’s face twitched. Feeling the fury emitting from Carmen, he suddenly widened his eyes.
“What the—? A UFO!” He exclaimed in disbelief.
After shouting that, he hurriedly wielded his Convergence Staff. And without hesitation, he cast Searing Chains toward Carmen.
He didn’t even bother to wait to see if the skill landed or not as he tucked his tail and ran in the opposite direction.
‘I’m going to die.’ He thought to himself, trying to hasten his pace.
Unfortunately, not even a few seconds later, he was graced with the presence of a Void Portal.
Realizing that she had caught up, he tried to change his trajectory.

“If you run away again, then I’ll leave the guild!”
Instantly, it was as if Xu Feng had been hit with a paralyzing status ailment.
That one statement alone made his intention of running away to be thrown out of the window.
Moreover, he even flashed a smile and expressed his desire to stay in place.
While he stood in place, Carmen emerged from the Void Portal. Her expression was rather sulky and disappointed.
“Stand tall!” She ordered in a stern voice.
In response, Xu Feng stood tall and straightened his back.
“Searing Chain on me?” Carmen raised an eyebrow and approached him.
“Why don’t you just hit me with a blinding strike or one of your origin skills, Mister Eclipse Nova?” She then declared solemnly.
“What?” Startled, Xu Feng nearly fell to the ground. He thought he had mistaken Carmen’s words until she continued.
“What do you mean by what?” Carmen snickered. “You are Lin Feng and also Cool Wind. If you can deceive the system by having two alternative names, it only makes sense that you must also be Eclipse Nova.”
“Eh?”
“Still not convinced? I might be naive and innocent, but I’m not stupid, Xu Feng. All the decisions you make, wouldn’t have been plausible if you weren’t Eclipse Nova.”
“…”
Speechless, Xu Feng totally didn’t expect to be exposed in such a manner. He knew that she wasn’t bluffing, so attempting to lie further would only strain their relationship.
“How long have you known?” He raised the question.
“I was around 80% positive when I saw you appear during the MIST’s siege against us. Your demeanor and ruthlessness were very different in portrayal. But there’s always a sense of familiarity I felt from you.” She explained her emotions back then.
It was just that she refused to believe the situation. Maybe it was because she wanted to hear the truth from him or maybe she wanted to keep herself in the dark.
However, her confirmation was 100% when she was killed and Xu Feng committed a merciless massacre against the schemers. When she watched the recording and how he thrashed everyone with complete ease, Carmen was already certain of his identity as Eclipse Nova.
The absolute dominance he displayed!
The fierceness and brutality!
All of them resembled Eclipse Nova, albeit somewhat different. Others might not be able to tell, but she had long been exposed to Xu Feng’s shrewdness and actions.
“To be honest, I still wanted to keep it to myself, but you’ve gone too far this time. You’re literally trying to fight against the sky all alone. I can’t watch you keep walking such a destructive path alone.” Carmen pursed her lips.
Having learned that all three of their supposed top players were a single person, Carmen had been striving her best to level up and improve her combat experience.
She didn’t want to see him carrying such a huge burden alone!
Someone who had offered her a lending hand and shielded her from the onslaught of the Reaver Guild. She would be drowning in sorrow and regret if she allowed that kind of person to continue to endure all the harshness alone.
