Chapter 858: Herb Dusts
Shortly after receiving her answer, Azalea promptly excused herself and informed Veronica of the location to meet up.
Moreover, as if Azalea wanted to apologize for her previous behavior, she directly placed a few gold coins meant for the travel expense.
Naturally, Veronica wanted to refuse but Azalea insisted, claiming that it was their Cyclone Guild inviting them.
Hence, it was only right that their expenses would be covered by the Cyclone Guild. Otherwise, gossip might arise, with people pointing fingers at their Cyclone Guild for being poor.
Hearing that kind of claim and her insistence, Veronica ultimately decided to accept the gesture. First off, no one would complain about money, and secondly, Veronica didn’t want their relationship to turn sour because of the flexing scene.
By accepting, both had now held a somewhat understanding of each other’s temperament and made a truce.
Veronica wanted to guide her to exit, but Azalea shook her head, stating that she wasn’t someone who liked to put on air and preferred a more casual interaction. As to whether the claim was true or not, there was no way to know.
The VIP Room was now left alone with only Crimson Heart and Veronica.
“Was it alright to reveal the Forsaken Set?” Veronica quickly turned to her and inquired. Previously, she had mentioned revealing something decent, but she never expected Crimson Heart to pull out Forsaken Set from the get-go.
She was afraid that revealing such information was detrimental and might ruin the Guild Leader’s plan.
“Relax, the Forsaken Set was something the Guild Leader planned on selling a long time ago.” Crimson Heart, upon noticing Veronica’s concern, chose to explain the matter. She wasn’t heated enough to make such a foolish mistake and reveal their cards just because they came trampling.
“Oh,” Veronica’s mouth held an “O” shape once she realized it was intended. She breathed out a sigh of relief after learning that it was part of the plan.
Their Guild Leader always had layered plans stacked on top of each other, so it was always difficult to grasp him. However, she had somewhat gotten a hang of it and was able to anticipate and predict some of them occasionally.
Sometime later, Veronica inquired further with Crimson Heart about the Forsaken Set.
As that was happening, back at Duskwither Hollow, Testimony Of Will’s secret dungeon, Xu Feng and Carmen finally made up their mind.
“Alright, we should travel to the East side.” Xu Feng said calmly. East was always known to be more positive, so it was right to head toward that path.
“Guild Leader, I’m pretty sure I said West Side.” Carmen cleared her throat and corrected.
“Was it not the East Side?”
Carmen shook her head in response. “It’s the West Side, so let’s not play this childish game, Guild Leader. My luck is better than yours.”
“Okay, we get it.” Xu Feng clicked his tongue and pointed at the West Side. “This west side?”
Since there was no navigation or map available, anywhere could be considered the west side unless they set it up themselves.
However, Carmen wasn’t a fool to believe he was confused by it. After all, they had already established the navigation mark themselves after some investigation.
“Can you stop trying to prove a point, Guild Leader?” She asked softly.
“Alright, I just wanted us to have a relaxed mindset.” Xu Feng raised his hands up and mused.
“In a maze-like event, one must never be too focused on one thing. Otherwise, we will lose our sanity and motivation.” He explained, speaking from experience.
A maze dungeon-type wasn’t uncommon. In fact, it was quite common as the game progressed. The difficulty level would rise higher, forcing players to constantly adapt and never be content with themselves.
It was then that many have sought to give up or even seek therapy help in the real world to cleanse their mindset. This was why most guilds also spent a lot in treatment for players.
There was a limit to how much a human could go on before they crumble and collapse.
This was why Xu Feng went to become a somewhat jokester or attempt to be funny to lessen the mood. Unfortunately, it backfired and Carmen only felt disgusted.
“I can focus better if you just scold or reprimand me. The jokes aren’t it, Guild Leader.” She respectfully said.

Hearing that, Xu Feng also stopped trying to embarrass himself and nodded.
Sometime later, the two became prepared and were vigilant as they stepped out of the safe zone.
System Notification: You have stepped out of the safe zone! Timer officially counts down! Only when you are in a safe zone does the timer paused!
‘As expected, there should be multiple safe zones scattered across the maze.’ Upon reading the system prompt, he became certain of the possibility.
However, what made him dread more was the fact that the difficulty was really high. If a maze allowed players to pause the timer, it meant that it was very large and the System doubted the players could even find the exit.
“Should we focus on finding safe zones?” Carmen inquired. If they spot some safe zone within the maze, they could potentially leave some traces to return to it.
After all, while they were discussing, Xu Feng had long crushed a lot of herbs and created dust out of it. These dusts were going to be scattered on the ground and each color indicated different things.
“Let’s test whether the dust remains or not.” Xu Feng shook his head and suggested.
As for why he didn’t simply scatter the dust and wait, he was afraid the System might be sneaky—such as leaving the dust on the ground but once it was out of their sight, they would sweep it up.
It was also a pity that they couldn’t allow one person to scout ahead without triggering the safe zone.
Xu Feng had tested it after stepping out alone and realized there was a restriction. Unless both players were out of the safe zone, they wouldn’t be able to move much.
“I supposed we could only pray that the dust method would work.” Carmen nodded and agreed with his plan.
