Chapter 883: Spot The Difference!
Time passed by very quickly, and Carmen was starting to feel the strain from trying to memorize the details of the statue.
Each of the monster statues was very detailed and had many unique features.
As for Xu Feng, he had to memorize many miscellaneous stuff that would overwhelm one’s eyes when trying to input them into his memory.
‘Now I know why the System disabled our features.’ Xu Feng exhaled as he knew this kind of task would be very easy if he could just snap some screenshots.
With a screenshot to make the comparison, the challenge and difficulty would become way easier.
However, he also knew that was just a pipe dream.
As if the obstacle would allow a player to get some easy pass!
“I’m done, Guild Leader.” Carmen stretched her neck and called out. To be fair, she was somewhat fatigued from trying to memorize them. She knew if she continued, it would just be a futile effort.
Xu Feng wasn’t faring much better. Although he prided himself in knowing a lot, that was mainly because he had been dealing with them frequently to know about it.
The objects that were scattered across the path were a new experience, so even he would struggle a bit to memorize them completely. It was not like he had the cheat code, eidetic memory.
“I’m around 70% positive, but I think we wasted enough time.” Xu Feng stretched his arms and said calmly.
Timer: 07:19:53
A little bit more than half an hour had been spent memorizing.
“So, should we start following the green arrow path?” Carmen inquired, pointing at the path up ahead.
The other divergent paths that surrounded them turned out to be hoaxes. They were visible, but not accessible.
To summarize, they were also a part of the memorization obstacle, and the two of them had counted that there were a total of 10 divergent paths.
“Yeah, what’s the worst that could happen?” Xu Feng shrugged.
“Indeed, nothing could be worse than you being a scaredy cat from the hollow reaper.”
“Ahem!”
“Don’t blame me. It’s really hard to resist not teasing you.”
“…”
It was at this moment that Xu Feng came to realize… he would never be able to escape from her grasp ever again. She was definitely going to use that scene to tease him to no end.
“Ugh, let’s just advance and not be distracted.” Xu Feng frowned a bit and reminded Carmen to not joke too much. Otherwise, if she were to let it cloud her mind, then whatever memorization she just did would be going to waste.
Carmen was in agreement with that.
Thus, she had no choice but to reluctantly withhold her desire to tease him.
Sometime later, the two proceeded to advance forward—this time, the two kept close. They were afraid of being separated due to the third obstacle which forced them to waste a lot of time searching for each other.
To simplify, the two were holding hands to ensure the System couldn’t pull some random trick again.
Soon, they were blinded by some lights and when their vision regained clarity, both Xu Feng and Carmen were speechless.
At first glance, the scene in front of them was precisely the same as earlier. It was as if they had simply walked a circle, but one thing that made them certain they had advanced was the 0F being changed to 1F.
However, this was what stumped the two of them at the moment.

“Fuck… they all look the same.” Carmen twitched her mouth and glanced at the statues.
“I know right…” Xu Feng clicked his tongue and wondered what was amiss in the surroundings.
There were so many miscellaneous items that he nearly forgot if it was in their right place or not.
A few seconds later, the two glanced at each other and accepted their fate.
“I’ll give you my opinion once I’m done inspecting the statues.” Carmen lowered her head and walked toward the monster statues.
“You go do that.” Nodding, Xu Feng headed toward his memorization place and checked each miscellaneous item. Time continued to tick down, and suddenly, Xu Feng had a moment of realization.
‘Wait, how many divergent paths are there?’ He raised his chin up and glanced at the divergent paths.
1, 2, 3…5… 9
At this moment, Xu Feng wanted nothing more than to punch the air out of anger and frustration.
“Ugh, this is bull crap!” He shouted at the top of his lungs.
Startled, Carmen nearly had a fright by the sudden exclamation.
“What happened, Guild Leader?” She hurriedly asked in concern. She had not seen him lose his composure this much on a normal occasion.
“How many divergent paths have we counted from earlier?” Xu Feng had a listless expression as he raised the question.
“10 of them,” Carmen answered without hesitation, unsure of what he was trying to get into.
“10 huh… then can you count how many divergent paths we currently have?” Xu Feng pressed on.
Meanwhile, Carmen’s face started to twitch when she started to understand what he was trying to imply.
“No, it can’t be…” The first thing she did was be in denial. After all, she had spent so much time inspecting each of the statues. Now she was only on her fourth one.
However, when she gazed at the divergent paths and counted them one at a time. Her frown deepened and sure enough, she nearly wanted to punch and kick the air. “I’m starting to think the System is slowly trying to break our sanity and willpower by pulling such a stunt.”
Carmen ranted those words aloud without much thought, but Xu Feng was quickly in a daze after hearing that.
“Break our sanity and willpower?” Xu Feng muttered these particular words repeatedly.
Right, the secret dungeon was ultimately called Testimony Of Will. Without him noticing, Xu Feng came to realize his will was slowly being drained, especially the horror theme obstacle.
Maybe each of the obstacles represented a particular theme meant to shatter their will or weaken them as they continued forward.
