Chapter 890: Goofing Around
After debating for a few seconds, Xu Feng ultimately decided to agree to Carmen’s suggestion.

She barely voiced any suggestions, to begin with. So it was only right for him to accept them in such instances.

Not to mention, what could they possibly lose out from doing so?

At worst, they’d be stuck at 3F and 4F.

“I hope your luck is being put to good use,” Xu Feng said with a meaningful gaze.

“Ahem, my luck has always been fantastic.” Carmen rolled her eyes and stared back at him. “Maybe if my Guild Leader didn’t use up all his luck to find someone like me, then we would have been done by now.”

“…”

Once again, Xu Feng was rendered speechless and wanted to cry in a corner.

How could he possibly rebuke her claim?

‘She’s so eloquent now.’ Xu Feng reminisced about the time when Carmen would obey like a docile cat.

Shaking his head, Xu Feng composed himself and no longer bothered with it.

At the very least, he no longer had to worry about her being scammed by others.

“Alright, you’re the lead now.” Xu Feng took a step back and allowed Carmen to be in the front.

“Leave it to my luck.” Carmen took a deep breath and exhaled deeply. She regulated her breathing and her eyes soon turned firm. She was determined to get out of this damn loop as soon as possible.

“Follow me,” She waved her hand as if she was some tourist leader guiding the tourist people.

Xu Feng shouted “Aye aye captain” in response, playing along with Carmen.

At times like this, it was nice to goof around a bit to save their sanity from going crazy.

“Good, now let’s sail to find the sixth piece!” Carmen declared and marched forward.

Xu Feng purposely covered one of his eyes to enact the part of a crew cabin with a broken eye. He then marched along with Carmen.

Soon, the floor numbers went from 3 to 2 to 1, before finally landing on 0F.

“…”

“Captain, did we sail with the wrong navigation?” Xu Feng twitched his mouth and asked in a disbelieving tone.

“Shush, just trust my sailing.” Carmen hissed and continued to advance.

1F…2F…3F…4F…

Once it reached 4F, the luck dwindled down and they arrived at 0F again.

This repeated several times, and Xu Feng found it difficult to stop his current Captain from continuing to sail the ship.

‘Oh boy, this is going to be one long hell of a journey.’ Xu Feng smiled bitterly.

Given that they didn’t bother checking anything and simply advanced forward, the evidence that the System requested was blabbered in a nonsense manner by Carmen.

However, the so-called nonsense wasn’t really nonsense either because all along, Carmen only said the divergent paths were incorrect. It was only when they reached the 4F would Carmen changed her answer to something else.

Yet without much surprise, the answer was wrong because there were so many possibilities of the anomaly in the area.

Soon, they returned to the 4F almost immediately by some miracle.

Carmen’s brows furrowed, her fingers rubbing her chin, seemingly in deep thought.

“What do you think about the situation, Dr. Feng?” She turned to him and asked suspiciously.

‘Okay… is she trying to role-play the Sherlock Holmes series this time?’ Xu Feng twitched his brows and realized he had to change his characterization.

Although the correct form of addressing should be simply his surname, Xu Feng wasn’t one to nitpick it.

“Ahem, I believe it’s time to call for random blabbering again, Miss Carmen.” Xu Feng cleared his throat and responded seriously.

“As expected of Dr. Feng. Always knowing what’s on my mind.” Carmen curled her lips upward, flashing a sly grin as she called out to the System.

“The anomaly is the statue!”

[Correct! The statue of the Cragback Mauler was slightly dented.]

Xu Feng’s mouth was left agape upon seeing Carmen guessed correctly.

Meanwhile, Carmen raised her chin up, her nose seemed to have extended a few inches as she held a prideful expression.

“Hahaha, as expected of me, Miss Carmen!” She exclaimed loudly.

Unwilling to let the momentum die, Carmen quickly grabbed Xu Feng’s hand as she advanced quickly.

5F

Without even bothering to check the details, Carmen stride forward.

Once she was prompted by the System to provide evidence of her suspicion of the anomaly, Carmen smirked coldly.

“The miscellaneous items that are scattered are missing.” She proudly declared, clearly gambling.

“As if it’s that easy…” Xu Feng muttered very slowly, clearly prepared to be sent back down to 4F.

Yet before he could even console Carmen, the system prompt appeared.

[Congratulations! You have completed the sixth challenge and shall be transported to the end. Take a good rest because it’s the final battle!]

“…”

Baffled and stunned, Xu Feng was seriously starting to doubt himself. ‘Could I really be the unlucky one?’

Thankfully, Xu Feng didn’t receive any teasing from Carmen as she finally heaved a sigh of relief.

She wasn’t gleeful for completing the sixth challenge, only grateful and relieved that it was finally over.

The 3-hour-long looping nightmare was done.

Timer: 03:47:25

As they were consumed by a brightening light, they soon found themselves in an open platform. There was a large exit door ahead, but it was chained completely.

However, other than the large exit door, there were also numerous doors surrounding them.

These doors didn’t have the “exit” label, but having dealt with the craziness of this secret dungeon, Xu Feng and Carmen suspected it was a monster wave.

Monster waves as in the doors would be opening and welcoming monsters to attack them. They must then eliminate them while doing their best to survive.

It was a good thing that the System still transported them to a safe zone to rest. The timer was paused, allowing them ample time to catch their breath.

“The System said one final battle, so I supposed we can finally vent our frustration, right?” Carmen smiled.

While Carmen was visibly relaxed, Xu Feng was silent as he stared at the finalized icon on his status screen: Ultimate Will.
