Chapter 893: The First Wave
When Xu Feng heard Carmen allowing him to take the lead, he nearly wanted to laugh aloud.

“Sure, just stay behind me and let me show you that level doesn’t mean much.” He grinned and stepped forward.

However, not even another step forward, he found his cloak being held back by Carmen.

Once she said her piece, Carmen proceeded to summon voidlings and buffed them up.

As the voidlings emerged from the empty void, the monsters from the door finally stopped emerging.

The system prompt indicated that they had to deal with 25 monsters. It looked simple and easy on the surface, but that was until the two of them noticed that these monsters were all level 45s.

“These Cragback Maulers are starting to irritate me.” Carmen furrowed her brows as she glanced at the 5 Cragback Maulers. This particular monster was the very first one they had encountered prior to the first challenge.

Not only were their bodies tanky, but they were also extremely tricky to deal with once you allowed them to prolong the fight.

The first Cragback Mauler was annihilated because Xu Feng used his ultimate skill from the get-go.

Back at the third challenge, she had personally witnessed the terror that these creatures were capable of doing. When they attack, their fangs pulsate with violet light, dropping corrosive energy that sizzles anything it touches.

While she was advancing the designated path at the third challenge, the Manafang Broodspider caused mayhem for the weak humans.

“Look at what’s following behind them.” He then pointed out the Voltmaw Hounds.

Carmen’s eyes quickly narrowed as she stared at the hounds. She also remembered these hounds being on the third challenge.

Each breath that these hounds exhaled was a spark that could paralyze their foe for at least 5 seconds.

Their electric fury also resonated deeply when grouped with fellow hounds. Moreover, their agility and coordination were enhanced deeply.

“Did the system think this was going to traumatize me?” She hissed coldly and grinned. She was helpless at the third challenge because she was completely restricted.

All she could do was close her eyes and watch as these creatures ran amok.

But time had changed. She was no longer restricted and could easily confront them without any worries.

“Guild Leader, can you handle the Cragback Maulers and leave the spiders and hounds to me?” Carmen selfishly requested. She knew it was best to work as a team, but her fury and desire to destroy these two particular monsters were overwhelming.

When Xu Feng sensed her high killing intent, he knew that if disagreed, it would only disrupt her state and momentum.

He shook his head and exhaled deeply, “So be it, but make sure to not use your ultimate skills. They aren’t worth it.”

“Rest assured. I’ll simply have my summoned creatures play with them. They don’t deserve me to go all out.” After saying that, Carmen activated her Void Portal and quickly isolated the Cragback Maulers from the spiders and hounds.

She effectively knocked the Cragback Maulers straight to Xu Feng.

‘Did my job class suddenly change to a janitor?’ He wondered silently as he glanced at the airborne Cragback Maulers that were sent flying toward him.

A few seconds later, Xu Feng’s eyes turned cold as he began to summon his own set of creatures to taunt the Cragback Maulers.

Since Carmen said she was going to handle the remaining 20 monsters, Xu Feng had no qualms or doubts about her abilities. By now, she already knew how to judge whether she could eliminate the monsters or not.

Therefore, Xu Feng wasn’t worried and paid full attention to the Cragback Maulers.

The Cragback Maulers were occupied by his summoned creatures, but Xu Feng knew that stalling would only prolong its durability to increase.

“What a waste this will be…” He muttered and retrieved a set of grenades. Although he didn’t want to use it immediately in the first wave, Xu Feng had no choice. It was either the grenades or his ultimate skills.

And honestly, he had no intention of putting his ultimate skills in a long cooldown.
