“Why do you keep following me when you could not even handle it?” Alex could not understand. What irked him further was… he never refused her even when his friends did not like her.

She might be the new snitch, they have told him but he did not believe it. Nora had always been so reserved, busy and cold. And was she not facing the same problem at her home? And he was helping her. She had no reason to betray him.

“Stop staring at me! Am I not getting better?” she scowled as she took out a medicine and ate it. This was for stopping dizziness. He had suggested it to her once and since then she always takes them when she enters his car. “And it is not like you have a girlfriend to take with you.” she rolled her eyes when he looked at her amused.

“Then are you applying for the post?” his smirk only grew wider when she blinked. It was hard to surprise this girl. That was the first!

“I will if you achieve something one day. For now, you are last in the class and I am the first.” She beamed, knowing well that he did not even give the exam properly. If he wanted, he could have been first. But he did not want to be the perfect son his father wanted. And see what his father would do in that case! Would he still go for bloodline as he had always suggested or he would choose his perfect illegitimate son. His eyes darkened just with the thought of Alric!

The perfect son bullshit! The caring brother crap! Alric only wanted the world to know how perfect he was!

And Alex was nothing but a stepping stone for that cause.

“Forget it! I am here because I am afraid of speed and I want to overcome my weakness. I would not let a few cars scare me. So start the car you dumbass! Do you not want to win this time?” Alex shook his head. This girl did not follow normal reasoning. If something made her sick she would do it again and again until it did not make her sick when she could simply avoid that.

“It was not like your life was depending on it. Why are you so harsh with yourself.” he pressed the accelerator and the car came to life. Alex had only modified his engine yesterday. It has become faster now. He enjoyed the way the engine roared to life.

Nora held the seat belt tightly. Her face went ashen but her eyes were cold and filled with determination. The car moved faster than others, slowly claiming the third, second and before the race ended, Alex had somehow achieved the first position. When the car finally stopped, Nora gasped for air as if she was drowning for a long time. She opened the door and sat on the ground.

Two young girls came forward and wrapped their arms around alex.

“Congratulations Alex. we knew that you would win.” They kissed her on cheeks and beamed. Their hands were already on his chest. “When will you take us as your partner?” they glared at Nora. She had no pride. How could she sit on the ground and grasp as if she was being strangled. She did not understand the essence of racing at all. The girl felt hated for her. But they did not dare to show it in front of Alex.

“Next time.” He ignored them and walked toward Nora. he held her arm and pulled her up. Ignoring her glare, he took her to a seat on the corner and opened a bottle for her.

“I am coming in a minute. Wait for me here.” he warned her before going to a room on the left. Nora nodded with a pale face but when he left, her eyes narrowed. She had noticed a foreigner going inside when she was leaning on the car.

The man looked shady and was cursing his followers in a french accent.

She stood up and looked around to find two girls standing there.

“Hey! Is that a restroom?” Nora pointed at the door where Alex had gone. “I need to use one urgently.” there were still many people around but Noa intentionally asked them with a nauseated face.

The girls frowned but their eyes widened when they noticed where Nora was pointing.

“Have you lost your mind? That is..”

“…washroom. Yes! But it is for premium customers here. I am not sure if they will let you be there.” the other girl pulled the first one and glared at her meaningfully. The first girl frowned but slowly the idea sank in and she grinned too.

“Oh! This is not an issue. I have Alex’s pass with me.” Nora took out a pass with Alex’s name and photograph on it. The girl went green and purple just by looking at it.

“Go on then.” they waved at Nora. barely hiding their hatred for her. But Nora faked ignorance as she nodded and walked toward the door.

She could hear whispers behind her and it confirmed her doubts. This was not a simple place.

When she held the door, it was open to her surprise. Did the person not lock it? She heard the sound of moaning and slurping. Without looking, she knew what was happening and it made her frown.

Alex did not look like he wanted cheap sex.

“Oh come on, Alex. My girls are the best. Give them a chance and you will know. I heard that the twins are trying hard to win your favor but you bring a girl here every time and do not give others any value. This is not good! Even if you have a girlfriend, you should keep her away from this place unless you want to introduce her here.” the man chuckled meaningfully and Nora’s hands on the knob froze. Her eyes went dark and cold.

“Talk about her one more time and I will make sure you will never be able to talk again!”
