Chapter 123: The Devil Is Interested.

“It has been three days!” Nora mumbled as she made circles in her notebook. Her face looked pale. Victor’s pen paused on the paper. He looked at the girl with worry.

Though she had not whispered a single word, anyone would be worried. From the dead rats to ink in water, from torn notebooks to stolen purses, everything was damaged around her. Someone was targeting her and he was doing it very stealthily. Even when teachers tried to look into the matter and the cameras were checked, nothing suspicious was found.

“How about we complain to the police?” Nora blinked and stared at Victor in confusion. She could not complain against Damon even if she wanted to.

That day, he had disconnected the call without accepting and rejecting. She tried again but he did not pick up this time. She could do nothing but wait. How she wanted to go there and confront him but she still felt at risk in that. What if it was a trap for her!

“I know simple quibbles can not be complained about. But someone is stalking you. If we convince, the police will look into the matter.” he looked at her gloomily.

“Aah! No! This is just a joke. You should not take it seriously!” joke! Victor was stunned.

“Nora!” He wanted to curse. But restrained himself.

“We are going to work tomorrow and I will ask my father for advice. I am sure he would have a better solution since following you or coming early to the class is not working.” Nora paused. He was coming early for the class to find the culprit? She looked at him with a complex gaze.

This is becoming a burden now. She did not want to owe anyone even if the person could not help her in the end.

“Victor!”

“Everything would be better. Do not worry.” She looked away. Thank goodness he did not press her further or the guilt would have strangled her. The way Alex was looking at the two of them was not helping either. She felt like his back was burnt by that gaze.

So, she ignored him and ignored the victor too. She concentrated on the messages she had exchanged with Penny these days.

“You have done such a good job. There is an inter school competition next week. It will go for four days and they will test eight subjects. As long as Nora missed any of them, she would be disqualified. Help me this once and we will secure the position of Penny.” she stared at the message with a cold glint in her eyes.

“But my goddess would never want it. Pranking is a different thing but destroying someone’s future is serious.” She smiled when the other party went silent for the whole day.

Even she wanted to see what excuse she would use this time.

“You are coming with me this weekend or you need to study?” Victor asked after the announcement. “After all, if you cleared the inter school contest, you would go to the state level. This is a huge opportunity.” Nora took out another folder from her bag. The game he had taught her indeed helped her in making the game smoother.

“No, I am prepared. Let’s get this over with so that I can ask for an advance.” he sighed! If she had asked, he would have given her any amount. But he knew Nora did not like help. She did not like when others pity her. If only she would not see him as others. But he would work on that. This weekend, he would make it special for her and then he would propose to her.

Then he would see how she would not take his help or how anyone would stalk her anymore. His mood improved with that thought and they studied together.

“I will walk you to your dorm.” he offered when the classes ended. But Nora refused under the pretense of going to the library.

A message was waiting for her when she took out her phone.

“I understand your doubts. But Nora is a bitch stealing what belongs to our goddess. Do not tell me you are scared now?” Nora snorted. This kind of provocation! Did Penny think she was a child?

“But Penny is hardworking. I am sure she would secure a seat with or without Nora. I am not scared to hurt Nora. I am scared Penny will be angry! If you want me to do this, I need confirmation from my goddess.” which was fair! Nora knew that the bait had already been taken. There was no way that Penny would miss this chance.

She opened the book and studied. Other students started staring at her when she flipped pages again and again in a minute or two. There was no way one could read this fast.

Many students frowned and others sneered at her.

“Ha! Look at the show off. Did she really want us to believe that she could study this fast?”

“Forget about her. Since she had come first in her class, she thinks that she was the best.” many passed comments but as if their voice did not fall in Nora’s ears. She had read all these books in the past. She only needs to revise important topics. Right now, she was only reading the headings. And if she found something interesting, she read the paragraph and ignored the rest of the page.

But her actions were a cold slap on many faces. They were holding just one page while she had changed her book from science to economics.

“Look at her posing abilities. I..”

“You are a fool darling. Who could not accept that a girl is better than you and that is why you are whining so much. Why are you even staring at her in the first place instead of studying your notes?” Emma walked into the library in her extra short skirt of uniform and high heels instead of shoes. With her lips painted red, she looked bold and seductress.

“And if you are so doubtful, how about we place a bet on whether she knows the topic or not? What do you say?”
