Chapter 129: A Big Show

Penny looked around and easily found Emma in the cafe. She pulled her scarf closer trying her best to hide her face. Though this cafe was far from her school, she couldn’t take the chance.

She had worn a turtle neck olive top with black jeans and sneakers. It had covered her whole body and the scarf had hidden her face.

“Emma!” she smiled at the girl as she sat in front of her. Her fingers were already holding the record button on her phone. She would just cut a bit here and there and twist the truth for the future if this treacherous girl was playing a trick.

“Penny! I thought you were not coming anymore.” Emma bit the straw of her drink and took a sip. The noise she created for it irked penny. Such a tacky girl with no elegance or charm. How could she hold so much power in the school? But she hid her disgust under a charming smile.

“I would have never believed that you would like me.” Penny started with flattery and smiles but Emma just snorted.

“Good! Because this is not true.” the smile on Penny’s face froze. But then she laughed.

“See! You are full of dark humor. Who would believe that you want to be friends with me.” though Penny said so. She was already looking at Emma with a calculating gaze.

Emma rolled her eyes at her dramatic acting and took another noisy sip of her drink. Noticing Penny, a waiter came forward but Penny shook her head.

She would rather stay hungry than sharing a meal with this foolish girl.

“No one should. Because I never wanted to be your friend.” Emma scoffed again, finally putting her drink on the table. But she did not take off her legs from the table or stop leaning on her chair strangely. “Let me get this straight, penny. I do not like you.”

“…” silence fell. She had insulted her twice. And all Penny wanted to do was to leave this wretched place and this wretched girl but she was the only one who humiliated Nora so many times without being caught. She needed the girl if she wanted to get rid of Nora before the competition.

So, she forced a smile on her face again.

“I do not understand. I was told that you have expressed your desire to befriend me and ask to meet me many times.” she smiled sweetly like a naive child and extended her hands to hold Emma’s.

But Emma picked up the glass again and started sipping. Penny’s hands hold empty space making her humiliated.

“I did that because I wanted to know who I was dealing with. I thought someone was using your name to hurt Nora. But who would have thought.. You really want to ruin your sister’s life so badly.” Emma scoffed again and Penny felt her cheeks burnt.

“What.. What are you saying! I never wanted to hurt my sister. She is my family.. My..”

“Cut the chase!” Penny stopped in between and looked at Emma with narrowed eyes. The girl ws not following the script at all. She had told Emma so many times from her fake account that Penny was innocent. She did not know anything. She would never hurt Nora. yet she had started accusing her the moment they met.

“I am interested in Nora.” Emma started making Penny stunned. Her face was burning for a completely different reason this time. “But she had refused my friendship. This is the first time someone has dared to refuse me and then ignore me. She is too arrogant. I want to teach her a lesson so that she will remember me forever. She should regret refusing me.

But for that, I needed an ally. Since that girl from the social media was targeting Nora. I spouted some lies about liking you to take part in that.

I will not lie, I have enjoyed these three days in targeting Nora. and my hands itch to do something bigger.

But I am not sure about you Penny. You do not have guts to do anything vicious and now you are telling me that Nora is your family and you do not want to hurt her. I have nothing left to discuss with you then.” Emma stood up, ready to leave when Penny jumped from her seat and held her hands.

She had already recorded whatever she could.

“What is your plan? I will see if I can help you.” Penny gulped. When Emma looked at her, she felt like a predator had held her at her place. But she had come too far. She could not give up now.

“You want Nora to fail in the inter school competition right?” Emma chuckled when Penny nodded slowly. “Hmm, this is difficult since i have to approach her then. But it is possible as long as you help me.”

Penny felt a strange uneasiness in her heart.

“What.. What kind of help do you need?” Penny spoke uneasily. “I can not go directly against her, she is still my sister.” Penny warned Emma. only for her to laugh.

“I have gathered that much. Do not worry. I will be in the front. I heard that you are arranging a small party in the school cafeteria. I want you to add a screen to that. Make an excuse and then I will create a picture for them on how Nora had cheated in her exams. I have some good recordings.” she winked, making Penny excited. So, she was indeed cheating.

“I knew that she could not get such good marks in the exams. Thank you.” she looked at Emma gratefully. If it was proven that Nora had cheated, she would be disqualified from giving exams. Then her parents could pressure the principal to expel her from the school.

“Are you sure it would be enough?” Penny’s hands clenched around her purse tightly.

“Yes! I have enough proof against her. But you have to collect all the public you could.”
