Chapter 132: A Deadtrap

When Penny walked out of that enclosed space and crossed the hall, many girls waved at her. She smiled at them with kindness.

A few girls stopped her or started walking with her.

“I was so stressed about making notes or getting good books, but thanks to you I am not worried anymore, Penny. You are so kind.” Penny basked in the reverence in their eyes. Her smile only grew wider.

“Yes, Penny! Thank you. You are an angel. The school belle did not do justice to you at all. You are such a sweet girl.” the other chirped with a fawning expression and Penny reveled in it. Her eyes growing brighter, her ego plummeting every second.

“You are…” her shoulders broadened and she laughed.

“Enough! You are all making it such a big deal. I have worked so hard in making notes that I did not sleep for days. Would they not go to waste if only I would use them?” she scolded them lightly, “we are friends, we should share good things among us.”

“Oh Penny! We have missed this kindness of yours. What has happened to you these days? That Nora..” Penny’s grip on the books tightened. Yes! She had always been this kind and caring but Nora had ruined her image.

She had accused her of so many things and made her a villain. But this time, she would not only claim her kind image back, she would teach that witch a lesson too.

“Ah! I.. I can not talk about her.” her voice trembled as if she was hardly holding her tears back. “She is my sister. No matter what she says, we are bonded by blood.” she hurriedly walked away with quivering shoulders earning many sympathetic looks from the crowd.

“I have known that Nora is trying to malign Penny. She must be jealous of her.” a girl whispered. She instigated others by adding many more rumors.

For the next two days, every class heard that Penny had prepared special notes and would distribute it to her class. Good students from other classes came to Penny with some gifts.

“Penny, we all are part of a school. Do not differentiate us just because we do not study in one class. We also want to join you for the study session.” asked a girl with a pout.

“Oh! But there would not be so many seats. The room is not wide enough.” Penny looked troubled by the request.

The girl bit her lips and wrapped her hands around a penny.

“Oh come on. I can share the seat with another girl. And I am not asking to take my whole class. But we have always been friends. Haven’t we?” she pleaded with a pitiful look making Penny sigh.

“Alright, you can come and bring your close friends with you. I will see what I can do.” The girl smiled and wrapped her arms around Penny in an intimate hug earning many looks from the students.

“Penny! These days you have become so popular that I only hear your name, no matter where I go.” a boy laughed while elbowing Victor. He knew that Penny was not interested in Victor. But he was a popular student. Which girl would not enjoy his attention.

Penny eyed Victor. She had never been interested in him. But he had interest in Nora which had irked her. If she could snatch him from Nora! Her eyes gleamed with that thought.

“Is that so?” Penny asked sweetly, “but not many care about me.” she intentionally looked at Victor. “I am afraid they believe in those rumors about my sister..” she paused. “Forget it. We should help others. Either people appreciate it or not. We should be kind.” many smiled at her.

When Penny sat down, she was relieved that Victor did not respond to her. It had placed her with other girls and they felt a bond with her. If Victor had smiled at her or given her attention, then they would have been jealous and acted hostile toward her like they were hostile toward Nora.

Nora did not know, but some branches were too high to touch. Her ambitions would ruin her this time.

With a sneer on her face, she started writing notes again. But when others got busy, she took out her mobile and contacted that man again.

“Sir, I have already studied the test papers you have sent. Will you be kind enough to check the answers and send me the next test paper?” with that, she attached a file to the message.

After an hour, a file was sent to her with no words. Her eyes beamed and she opened it. Many questions on languages had filled the whole sheet. Her eyes gleamed.

“I have made a good decision to follow Gabriel.” she beamed with joy. That man had helped her in making those so-called notes.

“Thank you sir. You are so kind.” She replied back and then called her mother after the class.

“Mother, the teacher you had assigned had already solved math and science papers. But I need a language teacher to solve the next papers.” as long as she had test papers and solved answers by experts, she would earn all the glory.

“And when will you send someone to attach the screen in the library? My image depends on this plan mom, do not ruin it.” hearing her mother’s words, the smile on her face grew. She nodded and cut the call.

Without waiting for a second, she ran to her room and started collecting her books.

Kate looked at her confused and asked Penny, “where are you going in such a hurry?”

Penny paused, she looked anxious and looked around.

“Kate, I trust you as my friend. Do not tell anyone that i am missing from the school” the words worried the girl further, she frowned and looked at the bag,

“But where are you going?”

“Kate.. someone is blackmailing me. I have to end this today or Nora.. I mean I will be in trouble.”
