Chapter 134: Like A Child

When Kate woke up, Penny was not in the room. She frowned as it was the weekend. She was still groggy when Penny returned with a take out in her hands.

“You are awake!” she smiled at Kate. “I went running and brought your favorite steamed buns. Freshen up and eat some when they are still warm. I have brought a few sandwiches too.” With a smile, she placed the bag on the table.

Kate stared at Penny with unease. Who would believe that this smiling girl had faced a dangerous blackmailer by herself last night to save her estranged sister. If only, she had been her sister instead.

Penny felt her gaze and frowned. “What is it?”

Kate shook her head. She did not want to reveal to Penny that she had followed her last night. What if Penny feels offended?

“I am just in the mood to laze around. Isn’t it the weekend! Why did you wake up so early?” Kate stretched her lean body while Penny’s eyes went cold.

Kate was really beautiful. But her biggest asset was her asian look and that perfect body. Though she was not so tall, her white and glossy skin and her sharp features were so perfect. Not to forget that body! She had seen how their classmates turned to look at her again and again.

If only.. A sweet smile appeared on Penny’s face when their eyes met.

“Did you forget? I have invested so many people in the library today to share my notes. I just want to go through all the notes to make sure that nothing goes wrong and then I have to check the computer and screen too. And I am so bad at those things.” she sighed and sat on the chair with an exhausted look.

Kate’s eyes softened. “I have never met someone as caring as you. You care to the limit of being foolish.” she sighed. “Forget it! Now that you have already promised everything. I will help you.”

Penny’s eyes opened with pure joy in them. “You will?” she confirmed and Kate nodded. “Thank you! You are my savior.” Penny stood up and pounced on Kate.

Kate smiled sweetly as she hugged the brunettes back.

“You are such a baby!” she laughed, “you can go with the notes and i will check the computer system and all the adjustments needed. Alright?” she asked when Penny did not let her go.

She had been away from her home for such a long time. This warmth felt so nice.

“Yes, I will. Thank you, Kate. you are the best.” Penny finally let go of Kate.

“Then I will go to the classroom. Since it will be empty today I will get enough time to work on the notes and make last minute adjustments.” she grinned and packed her bag.

Kate sighed. She had thought Penny would read the notes in the library and they would work together. She wanted to ask for that but stopped herself. It might disturb Penny. Helping others looked important to her and she did not obstruct her.

“At least eat when you can and return soon. Who knows when your guests would start appearing. If I am alone, I will chase them away.” Kate teased making Penny laugh and nod her head obediently.

“You finish the take out too. It was so yummy.” She packed all the notes in her bag and smiled at Kate before leaving.

Kate looked at the take out. She bathed quickly and finished her meal. When she went to the library. A man was fitting the screen but he left just after that without explaining to her how things would work!

“These foreigners!” she cursed and shook her head. But she was quite proficient when it comes to working with gadgets. She checked the screen by herself and miracast the computer screen with the big screen.

She played a movie to make sure it did not break and the net was strong enough. Taking out chips from her bag, she sat there leisurely and enjoyed the chips as she watched the show.

When it worked fine, she stretched herself and walked out. She was feeling stiff after sitting for so long. So she decided to take a walk in the garden.

She had just walked a few steps when she found Nora sitting on one of the benches with a drawing book in her hands. She was listening to something on headphones and drawing a cartoon.

Kate would have ignored Nora like always. She did not want to create trouble with penny. Penny had helped her so many times. But after the incident last night, she could not stop herself.

And before she knew, she was already standing in front of Nora, glaring at her.

“Look at you enjoying your life while others face trouble because of you.” Kate gritted her teeth when Nora looked at her lazily. As if her harsh words had fallen on soft cotton. They do not make an impact at all.

“Kate, right? How are you? Isn’t it a good day to spend time in the garden?” Nora asked in a lazy voice as she stretched her body like a cat. Kate gritted her teeth.

“Ha! Yes, a shew like you could waste all the time. In the end you are going to cheat in your exams so why would you care about doing hard work.” She spat with venom but Nora only looked at her as if she was speaking foreign language and she did not understand a thing of what Kate said.

“You must have a misunderstanding.” Nora started but Kate only frowned depper. “We do not know each other. Do we? Or you believe in the words of everyone and judge others without knowing them?” there was a strange calmness around Nora. as if Kate was dealing with her elders. Her lips parted but not a single word came out. It made her feel confused and uneasy.

“Come, sit! And tell me what the issue is. Talking can solve any problem.”
