Chapter 149: Hard On Yourself!

“There is a limit to lies, Nora. you are accusing the family who had taken care of you so far!” Penny hissed with venom in her eyes. “I will still endure if you insult me. But I would not accept it if you insult my parents. They are your uncle and aunt but I am sure you have forgotten completely about it in your jealousy and hatred.”

Both girls spoke with so much emotion that no one knew who to support. Who is speaking the truth? But did they care? Most of them were only looking at the show. Their rift would help them in the future.

Mr Summer felt awkward too.

“That is enough. Do not make a ruckus in the class about your personal matters.” he looked at the notes again. “Good work, Nora.” he did not say that for a penny as he returned the notes.

Penny felt hatred burning her body. Nora was doing it intentionally.

“Sir! I am not feeling well. I want to go to the infirmary.” Mr Summer looked at Penny with a complex gaze before nodding.

Lowering her head, she ran from there. Kate hesitated but did not stand up to follow her.

Many looked at Mike with envy. They wanted to go and ask for notes too but they were embarrassed. They have insulted Nora so many times. They were sure she would not help them. Victor stared at the girl sitting beside him with no emotions. But how could she not be affected after what she had said! He wrote a note and passed it to her.

“You could not come with me this weekend. Would you like to go out today? I have already applied for leave.”

Nora stared at the note for a long time that Victor thought she was not going to reply.

“Alright! I will meet you at the entrance after school.” a burst of warmth spread across his chest as he read the message. Tonight, he was going to change their relationship from friend to lover.

His heart stirred as he planned the cake, the wine and fancy dinner. A gift of course. He could not hide his grin for a long time.

The classes went in blur. And he left hurriedly after the class.

Nora took her time in picking up her books and notes. She could feel many eyes following her but she had no intention of entertaining them.

“Nora..” Kyle could not handle it anymore. He had insulted her and claimed that she had injured herself to accuse Penny in the past. But it was in the group. He was sure she did not remember him. “I want those notes too.”

Nora turned to look at him.

“You do? But I thought that you believed I was a liar. What if my notes are like mine too?” Nora sighed, “I do not want to get another scolding from you in the future. So, I do not dare to pass them to you.”

“….” Kyle gritted his teeth. He had already lowered himself to ask her for notes. Yet, she insulted him and refused to help him. How dare she!

Nora looked at their dimmed eyes. When she was sure, no one was going to ask her again, she left the room with a smile on her face.

Kyle punched the bench.

“Look at the wench! I have already bowed my head to her, yet she insulted me. Who cares what notes she had prepared. I am going to clear the terminal exams anyway.” he gritted his teeth and left the room.

Many sighed and shook their heads. They gave up on asking for notes too.

Nora had only walked to her room, when she received a message. “You know you could have earned a good reputation by helping them.” Nora shook her head with a helpless smile on her face.

“At least you have learnt to restrain yourself and did not come running to me to know the answer this time.” the phone did not ring again. But Nora could imagine Emma’s sullen face. It brought a smile to her face.

She picked up her notes, drawings and other things and changed her clothes hurriedly. When she reached the entrance, Victor was already waiting for her. He was wearing a casual white shirt with blue jeans. He smiled at her and opened the door for her like a gentleman.

She could feel his eyes on her, but she ignored it.

“Do you have a complete plan? The manager is a bit strict and enjoys finding faults in the work. But it is for their own benefit. Truth to be told, the powerpuff girls are popular among girls and kids. But boys might not enjoy it. You have to find a solution to this issue.” Nora stared at him for a long time. She had the solution. But it belonged to him too.

How far she was going to use his things without letting him know. She was looking for a different solution. But this field did not belong to her. She did not know many things.

“Do not worry, I am sure we will find something. If not, we can still launch the game exclusively for girls and kids. You have created plans of many levels right?” looking at her gloomy face and dimmed eyes, he thought she was feeling pressured.

“We!? If you find something, it will be yours, Victor. Why would I be included in it?” she treaded carefully, turning her face away from him. She looked at her own reflection in the window. Her eyes looked teary.

Was she finally developing a conscience in this life! Ha! Wasn’t it too late to claim that she was a kind girl?

“Nora!” she held a touch on her arms. “Do not be so hard on yourself.”
