“You can use my ideas as yours. In the future, when you have a good idea, share it with me. And then we will be even.” he cracked a joke, swallowing the words, ” I do not care if you use me because I love you.”

He knew that she would only grow a shell around her, if he proposed to her right now. He needed a perfect chance and he would find it today.

“I am sure you have other ideas, right?” she blinked and looked away from her reflection, the face she had come to hate so much.

“Well, these days fighting and zombie killing games have become so popular. That all kids think about is fighting and action. How about we develop a game that needs thinking. Like mystery solving. Where they might be finding something or solving a murder mystery. It could have a fight with the villain in the end. But to reach that level, you have to use your mind and find clues.” Victor stared at the young girl. She spoke as if she was a decade older to him. But the way her eyes shone as she spoke made her look younger.

“This would need a lot of world building. If the game would be easier, it would not attract many. But if it is very difficult, people will not enjoy it either. And the characters should be popular too.” he scratched his chin, making her gasp. She had never believed that he would take her seriously.

It was her original idea. So she knew it was vague and probably trash too.

“How about Nancy drew!” her eyes sparkled as she thought of the possibility.

“Hmm, a famous one. But not so popular among boys!” she frowned.

“Then how about using names like leonardo da vinci and make it a bit historical. I am sure everyone enjoyed Dan Brown’s books.”

“That could be a good idea. Once you finish your competition and secure a position in the university, we will plan it together. This way, you will always have a reason to return to me.” Nora paused when he held her hand in excitement.

His eyes were still on the road as they had entered the heavy traffic zone, so he missed how her eyes stilled.

He might be vague, but she understood his wish. He wanted her. Tonight might be this simple.

“We are close! So prepare yourself well. If she becomes too much of a boy, call me.” Although he offered help, he looked tense.

Victor soon parked the car and they took life to the tenth floor.

“Our office is not that big. Whole tenth floor is ours. There we design games and recently, we are collaborating with a few companies to prepare merchandise of our games and famous characters. Father is too excited about it.”

The large hall had many cubicles and open tables. There were five main offices and three conference rooms. There must be around a hundred people working there.

Many nodded at Victor while a few girls winked at her when they noticed Nora following him closely. He only gave them a sharp look or winked back at them before opening a door for Nora.

“Manager Langdon” she read the name before entering. Victor did not follow her inside the room.

A woman in her thirties was sitting on the office chair with a cup of coffee in one hand and a pen in the other. She took a strip and then wrote something in her file.

“Miss Langdon!” Nora bowed her head slightly toward the woman.

“Who? Ah! Miss Stone. I was expecting you earlier. It is almost closing time for us. But I have to wait for you here with my staff. Your idea must be very precious.” Nora paused for a second before smiling awkwardly.

“I did not know. I apologize for coming late.” She walked and asked for permission to sit again.

The woman pointed at the chair. Miss Langdon took out a file from the cabinet and passed it to Nora.

“Using a famous cartoon character like Powerpuff girls needs the creator’s permission first. Not only that, we have to provide him half of the earnings as royalty.

If we do not earn enough from the idea, it would turn into a huge loss. Not only that, we have to pay you royalty too. I do not see the game development but already predict so many expenses. That made me hesitant, Miss Stone. You have half an hour to prove otherwise or I am canceling the game.” The woman had a calm and professional tone but when Nora picked up the file she only noticed many red marks and circles pointed at the mistake she had made. It made Nora dumbfounded. Wasn’t the game too popular in the past?

“The game would definitely be in the top ten games worldwide.” Nora promised in a solemn voice.

“No, I have a complete project here. I have designed levels for the game. It has two versions. Simpler one for the kids and difficult ones for the teenagers. I have also added a few more characters, they could choose from them.

The level of difficulty in each level, the world building and the characters of the villain and supporting characters.

I have made a background story on many of them. If you give it a look.” the woman scoffed before taking the file.

“You have added characters from other games too!” Langdon swore under her breath, “that means more royalty for other companies.”

“Then change name and clothes. We could take a few attribute from them and add a few attribute of ours, designing a completely new character.” Nora hesitantly offered but the woman only frowned.

“That would be cheating, Miss Stone. I can still pay higher but can not allow plagiarizing in my company.”
