“That is enough, Miss Stone.” Langon closed the file with force. Her voice was cold and her eyes narrowed. “I do not agree with this idea. Nor can we afford giving so much royalty. Either, design the characters from scratch and make them interesting enough for me to approve. Or I am going to reject it. Do you have anything else to discuss with me?” The woman looked with the same professional smile while Nora stared at the file.

She had added everything from her memories. Only adding a few changes that the gamers had suggested to the company. The company had admitted that they would do these changes. She only wanted the game to be perfect.

But now it was rejected just like that? In the past, they have changed a few character’s attributes and used them in many games.

“Miss Langdon. At least read the whole idea.” Nora requested. She did not know what else to say. The game has been developed by this company only and they have earned a fortune by it.

“When you develop an adult character based on the attributes of powerpuff girls in each level, it will be like they are growing. Powerpuff girls have many fans. They would love to see their favorite character growing up. And..”

“That is enough, Miss Stone. I have already told you that the game has potential but it has more expenses than the promise of growing up. We are not prepared for it. Thank you.” Nora sighed. She knew that arguing would not help her. The woman did not even check the whole idea.

“Very well, I understand.” Nora stood up and walked out of the office. Victor was not there. But a man was waiting for her there.

“Miss Stone, boss, wants to meet you. If you have a minute.” Nora looked around and nodded.

She was guided to the corner post office of the tenth floor.

“Miss Stone!”

“Mr Jhonson.” Nora bowed her head a little as he offered a seat to her.

“How was your meeting?” Nora did not know how to reply.

It was a disaster! But she did not want him to help.

“Well, Miss Langdon is too strict to handle sometimes.” he smiled softly at her. Nora nodded. Perhaps, Victor was rejected too many times in the past too. Or they have approved him because he was the future owner of the company. No matter what the reason is, she could not give up.

“But I will work hard and make the necessary changes, sir. Thank you for your concern.” she had never expected a cold man like him would care about her.

“Oh no, Miss Stone. You are misunderstanding me here. I am not concerned about you but my son. He had developed affection for you. And had forgotten his responsibilities as the future owner of our group.” Nora paused. Her eyes narrowed when she noticed the mocking look on his face. “All i want is, you do not use my son for your benefit. Your idea should be approved for what it has to offer. Not because you are my son’s classmate. Right?”

“Mr Jhonson!” She paused. “I think..”

“Oh do not be so serious, Miss Stone. I am only concerned for your future as an adult. Ah! You are here too. Have you forgotten how to knock before entering.” Nora’s lips curled into a smile. She did not need to turn to know that it was Victor!

“Sir!” VIctor bowed like any other staff here. “I was searching for Nora.”

“Ah, her meeting with Langdon had ended and she was looking for you so I called her here. Langdon could be harsh sometimes. I did not want her to feel too disappointed. I am sure with some changes, she will achieve what she wants. Right Miss Stone?” the man looked at her meaningfully.

Victor smiled gratefully at his father. He was afraid that his father would not approve of his relationship with Nora.

But seeing them together, smiling and caring for each other eased his heart.

“I have told her already. Nora is not a weak girl, dad. She is strong. Even if she is rejected, I am sure she already has a plan to come back.” Mr Jhonson;s eyes narrowed at his son and then he laughed.

“I am sure she has!” there was a different meaning for the same word, but Victor missed it and nodded. He was standing behind Nora with his arms resting on her chair. It was nothing close, yet it felt too intimate in Mr Jhonson’s eyes.

He knew his son best.

“I have a meeting now. I am sure you youngsters had a plan too. Miss Stone i hope you will follow my advice.” he dismissed them while giving a meaningful look to Nora.

Nora did not reply. She only bowed her head slightly before leaving with Victor.

“You got so many chocolates and gifts.” Nora noticed the small bag Victor was holding. She was sure he had not bought them.

“Ah, I get them every time I visit the office. Many girls like to butter me up in hope of promotion.” Nora knew that was not the case but she did not expose it as they walked to the lift.

“Did Miss Langodon reject your plan?” he asked when the door of the lift opened again. Nora was staring at her file but she frowned when no one entered. She raised her head to see Alric standing in front of her.

“Do not be sad! Here, you can take all these gifts. You will feel better.” For some reason, Nora felt a cold gaze piercing him.

She was sure the man would think she was enjoying her life while leaving Alric alone. But he did not leave the dorms today. She could not say it out aloud. Could she.
