Chapter 154: As Long As You Like It

“Victor..” Nora’s hand splayed on his chest. “You should let go of me, now.” her breathing was uneven and he was gasping. They have kissed again and again and.. Again when she accepted his proposal. But now the bulge was poking her to the limit that she could feel its movement.

She knew what it meant and if they did not stop. He realized it too. He cursed himself in his heart.

He always thought he had a good restraint. But could anyone blame him! Nora was in his arms and kissing him back. He grinned like a fool just by thinking about it.

“Victor!” she pressed and he finally let her go.

“Alright, do not be mad.” he placed her back on her seat but he did not let go of her hands. He could never have enough of her. He grinned again.

“You can not blame me. It is like a dream come true. I was afraid that you would choose Alex instead.” he confessed with a sloppy grin on his face.

“Alex, do not look at me like that.” she frowned. Victor rolled his eyes. He was a man and he knew how Alex looked at Nora. But it was good that she did not feel so.

“I must have made a mistake then. Well, it did not matter anymore. You have chosen me and you can not go back on your words. I will not let you.” he grumbled and squeezed her hands hard.

Even when he started the car again, he did not let go of her hands. Nora stared at his grinning face and felt a burst of warmth. Perhaps, it would not be that bad.

She touched her swollen lips with her other hand. They were still warm. He smiled, noticing her small actions.

“Are you hungry? I know a good restaurant nearby.” she looked out of the window and nodded.

They soon stopped in front of a restaurant.

“I think this one would need a reservation.” She looked at the fancy hotel and sighed. Her eyes scanning the surroundings for a stall or other dine out when he chuckled and dragged her inside.

“Victor, they would throw us out if you make a ruckus.” she chided him. She never knew he was such a child. But the smile on his face was infectious. It spread all over her skin.

“Sir, your table is ready. This way please!” Nora paused and then glared at him but he only grinned further.

He dragged her to a private room. The room was decorated by red balloons and candles. There was a large bouquet on the center of the table with a small gift. Victor whispered something in the waiter’s ears. The man smiled and left the room hurriedly.

“You..” she looked at the room, stunned. He held her hands with a proud look on his face and stood behind her. He leaned his head on the crook of her neck.

“Do you like it?” she felt the nervousness in his voice and sighed.

She had never celebrated her birthday because of her guilt about her parent’s death. And her marriage was nothing to be celebrated. This was the first time someone had decorated the room for her.

“It is beautiful and… warm!” warm? Victor frowned but looking at her smiling face, he did not care how the room looked to her as long as she was happy.

“I promise, from today onwards, I will continue to give you gifts and surprises. I will always make you happy.” she leaned on his body and sighed. Promises! But what if he kept them? What if he kept her happy?

“Victor, I do not deserve all this. I am not the kind and sweet girl you think of me. I have..” Victor twirled her so that she would face him.

“Nora, I do not care if you have played some tricks to get rid of that abusive family. This will not make you selfish. Even murder is allowed when it comes to self defense. But if you still believe you are a bad person, then I am not good either.

In the future, even if you decide to steal, kidnap or even murder, I will help you get rid of the evidence against it. So, no more about how bad you are, alright?” He cupped her cheeks and looked at her with a tender gaze.

It was full of love and care. It made Nora uneasy. She knew he liked her and any other girl would have fainted by now.

Victor was handsome, kind, sweet and intelligent. He is rich and has a warm family. Could she be luckier to have him? But why was it that she felt warm and care but the feeling of love and desire did not come?

It must be her past!

“Nora..” he called her and she shook her head. She had to get rid of her past wounds. And for that, she had to take her revenge. She had to make sure that her past would never repeat itself.

“As long as you like it.” He held her hands and brought her to the table. Picking up the roses, he kneeled on the ground on his one knee.

“I.. I do.” hesitation filled her. The love in his eyes would never be reciprocated by her. Could she be selfish again and accept the warmth he was offering? She stared at the flowers with unease building in her hearts.

Victor stood up and picked up the gift from the table. He opened it to show a small necklace inside it.

It was a solitaire with two diamonds overlapping each other. “These are us.” he grinned “May i?”
