Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 155
Chapter 155: A Daughter
“It must be expensive! I can not take it right now.” Nora stared at the necklace grimly. Victor frowned.
“Nora! We are..”
“After two months. If we continued our relationship by then. I will take it.” his eyes dimmed at once. He had spouted nonsense just to get acceptance from her. He had believed that these two months did not matter. She would be moved by tonight and accept him fully. “By then, I would have the status to accept you.” she added when she noticed his conflicted look.
Victor shook his head.
“I will wait for you, Nora. I will wait as long as you want me to.” he placed the necklace back in the box. “As long as you give me a chance!”
Nora stared at him without a reply. Because she knew she would not be able to return the feelings he wanted from her. A strange urge to run away from here and hide in a dark corner was engulfing every cell of her body.
“I..” the door opened again and two waiters entered. One was holding a large cake. It was a white cake with a couple on it. It looked more like a wedding cake. While the other waiter held a bottle of champagne.
Nora was speechless when she saw the cake. Her eyes widened but Victor waved his hands and took out a large tip for the waiters.
“Serve the food too. My princess is hungry!” Nora flinched the way he addressed her. But he did not notice since he was facing the waiters. She took the time to sit on the chair and poured herself water. But just one look at the cake, and it was hard to drink it. She was afraid her reflux would kick in and she would vomit.
“So, do you like the cake!” He walked closer and shook the bottle of champagne. “I have ordered the bottle with the least alcohol content. Have you drunk before?”
‘I have drank all my life. Stealing bottles from Benard’s cellar. I have drunk to forget my pain and hatred.’ Nora looked at the campaign and did not know how to reply.
“Just a sip then! I will not force you.” he poured the minimum amount in both glasses and passed one to her.
“To our new love!” Victor touched her glass with his. A grin brightening his whole face. She smiled back.
“Cheers!” she drank the glass in one gulp. Heat rose in her heart. Her stomach twisted. A strange sweet and bitter taste engulfed her. She felt like her stomach was burning. But it was a nice feeling.
“Looks like this body is still not adapted to alcohol.” she was not expecting this strong reaction from a simple glass of champagne.
Victor blinked looking at her empty glass and then laughed.
“Aye! You can not rush it. You will be dizzy.” he had only taken a small sip but she had already finished her glass.
“Nora, let’s cut the cake.” he picked up the knife and looked at her expectantly. She was glad that she had drunk the alcohol first. She needed that support.
“This is a wedding cake!” she raised a brow and he flushed. But he did not notice the sarcasm in her voice. He looked overwhelmed by his own emotions to notice her change.
“Yes! We will tell our kids a story. How I proposed to you and we celebrated. It should be loving for them to be proud. Do you want a son or a daughter?” he laughed and stood behind her so that they could cut the cake together.
He did not notice how her eyes changed and a tear fell on her cheeks.
“A daughter, I want a daughter. She would have chubby cheeks and golden hair. She will..” she paused and inhaled a breath.
“Hmm! She will be beautiful just like you.” Nora held his hand as he cut the cake with knife. Her chest started to burn for a completely different reason.
She turned and kissed him again. Victor froze for a second. This was the first kiss she had initiated. But then, he followed her lead. The way she bit his lips and kissed her passionately, made his heart flutter. He felt like he was flying higher and higher. When the kiss ended, he was on cloud nine.
He looked at her with dizzy eyes.
“Nora!” He wanted to pull her again for another kiss. He could never have enough of her. Though kissing her was a torture for his whole body. He was willing to do it. Her lingering fragrance, warmth of her skin and her heartbeat made him dizzy and full of desire.
“I am hungry!” she whispered when he leaned again and as if on cue, the door knocked again. Victor sighed! He was hungry too. But it was only for her lips. It was making him intoxicated and he could not get enough of her.
But looking at her staring at the meal with starry eyes, he laughed.
“Yes, I am hungry too. Let’s eat.” at least she was planning kids with him. A daughter..!

He filled her plate first before starting himself.
“About the project,we need to change a few characters to make it budget friendly or else Langdon is not going to pass it.” he sighed looking at her apologetically.
Nora’s grip on the fork tightened.
“If it was your idea, what change would you have made?” she bit her lips. She had played the game enough to know the world he had built and the characters. She had hardly made required changes.
“Hmm, I will not make such an expensive game knowing Langdon well.” he laughed, “but I must say your game inspires me strangely. If not for the game, I may not have fallen in love with you, Nora. it feels like part of my soul.” the fork fell from her hand.
The sound of clink echoed in her heart and suddenly she could not breath.
“But I am sure we will find a way to make it a success. You do not need to worry.”
