Chapter 156: The Game Is On!

He did not love her, he loved the game and the one who made it! He loved his future self! The thought plagued her mind and she could hardly concentrate on his words. Her first date of her two lifetimes went just like that!

“You seem tired.” he played with her fingers as they finished their dinner. “Still thinking about the game? I will have a few ideas if you are ready to make changes.”

“What else do you like in me except the game?” he blinked and then laughed.

“Oh dear, do you think I only like you because of your game.” he raised a brow and when she did not reply, he laughed. “Then I have to prove with my actions that it is not the case.” He walked closer to her and kissed her nape.

“I like your strong spirit. I like how you never accept defeat. I feel thrilled by your smiles and sad when you are upset. How you have struggled so far, yet you are not tainted at all. I love everything about you, Nora.” he rubbed her arms lovingly as he leaned into her arms.

Nora closed her eyes and enjoyed the touch. The warmth of his skin slowly faded her fears.

“Even if the game had drawn me toward you. There is so much in you than just a game. I only want it to work because you have invested so much in it. Or else,I would have asked you to give up on it already. Langdon is a tough nut to crack. But we will think about it later.” She nodded. She would find a way.

“For now, we should return to the dorms. Miss Megan does not like me already. She would create a scene if she learnt that I was with you.” he sighed but nodded reluctantly.

He held her hands all the way to their school as they talked about random things like school, upcoming exams, Nora and Penny.

“Victor? Are we going public?” Just as the car reached their college, Nora could not leave without being clear.

“You have no idea how much I want that. But you have a long line of haters already. And I do not want to add more. How about we wait till you finish your competition. If you did well, you will already have a good name and reputation by then?” Nora nodded. She wanted the same thing. But for different reasons. By then, she would convince Alric to find someone else to follow Alex.

She did not want their deal to affect her relationship with Victor. Perhaps, she could have a normal life this time.

“But that does not mean I will not find my ways to hug you and kiss you in the meantime.” he kissed her knuckles as his eyes glinted with desire. Nora shivered with desire too.

Though she did not enjoy the kisses today, she was sure she would like them with time. He kissed her on her cheeks before opening the door for her. “I love you, Princess.”

“I…” the words did not come as smoothly as it came from his mouth.

“It is alright. I can wait for you.” though his eyes dimmed, he smiled brightly at her. Nora felt gratitude as she left.

The hallways were too silent. Though it was late at night, there should still be some girls lingering in the corridors gossiping or whispering sweet nothing over phones. Nora felt an ominous feeling when she reached her room.

When she entered her room, her eyes stilled.

“SLUT” was written in bold letters on her mirror with red lipstick.

Her bed was a mess. Pillows were torn with cotton spread all around. Her matter was cut with something sharp. Her clothes were torn and everything in her room was ruined. The lights were flickering and the wires were cut so the air conditioner did not work.

The room was a disaster. She heard the sound of giggles at the door. With her eyes dripping venom, she went toward the door and opened it.

Six girls were standing there and talking to each other while laughing. They looked at Nora with a raised brow. As if their laughter had nothing to do with her.

“What happened? Do you need something?” a girl asked Nora.

“Lucy! We have no enmity.” Lucy snorted at the reply.

“We are just talking to each other. What does it have to do with you?” she rolled her eyes.

“I heard that her roommate had applied for a week’s leave. She must be scared in that large room alone. Could it be that you want us to accompany you for the night?” asked another with an ignorant look.

“Oh! Could it be that you are afraid of darkness or ghosts? Or your enemies are already chasing you at night?” another laughed and everyone joined.

They all were only giving vague replies. If it had been anyone else, they would have doubted that they were ignorant. But Nora could see the gleam in their eyes.

Not to forget that Lucy was Nora’s friend.

“I want to talk to you alone for a minute.” she stared at Lucy without any emotions. The other girls frowned. They were ready for her breakdown. They have even prepared excuses if she accuses them. But Nora did nothing as if her room was perfectly fine and she had only come outside to take a stroll.

“Lucy!” Everyone looked at her in confusion but she only smiled at them.

“It is alright. I am curious what accusations she was going to throw this time.” Nora had already entered the room and hesitatingly, Lucy followed her.

Her eyes only scanned the room without giving any reaction.

“You like Jamie from section B. and have already confessed to Penny about that thrice. Right?” Lucy’s eyes narrowed with hatred.

“If you are going to threaten me Jamie. Then you are a fool. He did not even know you.”

“No, but he knows you and Nora. Why do you think he spent time with you but never accepted your feelings?”
