Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 157
Chapter 157: I Have Not!
Lucy’s eyes widened. She had hidden her crush properly. She had never talked about Jamie in the class or followed him to his section.
They only met outside on weekends. He was a sportsman and Lucy had joined the cheerleading team just to stay around her. Even if someone sees them together, they would not think much about it.
“What nonsense are you spouting? I have not..” she stopped mid way. What if Nora knows nothing and only guesses. If she would admit, she would fall into her trap. She glared at Nora as she stopped abruptly. The room was doing a trick on her mind. It looked scary at that moment.
Nora only smiled with pity in her eyes.
“You have not confessed to him yet. But what if he knew that you like him? What if he is using you?” she asked softly as she took a step closer to Lucy. Lucy instinctively took a step back but when she realized what she did, her eyes dripped venom. She squared her shoulders to face Nora.
“I can prove everything to you. In exchange you have to tell the class that Penny had asked you to bully me.” she whispered in her ears, patting Lucy’s shoulders. “If you did it right, I even have a surprise gift for you.” Nora added with a strange coldness that scared Lucy.
“What.. What nonsense are you speaking? When have I bullied you!” She left the room hurriedly. But Nora just laughed as if she had expected this.
“Tomorrow after football practice. If you want proof, you will come to meet me in the library. If not, you can continue to be a fool. I will not stop you.” Nora shrugged and closed the door when Lucy left.
Lucy had a pale face when she walked out. The girls surrounded her with worry in their eyes.
“Did she threaten you?” asked one?
“Or she offered a bribe to confess everything?” asked another.
But Lucy only shook her head.
“She was only trying to scare me. But she had underestimated me. I have silenced her completely. Do not worry.” Only then did the girls look relieved and started chatting again. From Nora to their classes, the topics shifted quickly.
They were chatting here to make sure Nora would not leave the room. Many of them yawned, and occasionally looked at the door. But the door did not open even once.
In the night, the temperature was cold, so the air conditioner might not create an issue. But the room was badly ruined. And it looked scary with those flickering lights and painted red walls. The connection was cut, so Nora could not stop the lights from flickering by switches.
“Why is she not coming out again? I am already sleepy?” a girl cursed. She was offered a good reward for standing here. But she was exhausted and exams were near.
Lucy stared at the closed door with uneasiness rising in her heart.
“If any of you want to go, go. I will stand here to cover all of you.” the girl looked at Lucy surprised.
“Thank you, Lucy. I will buy you breakfast tomorrow.” She thanked me and left hastily.
Others hesitated, but all of them left one by one. They did not want to spend their nights as guards. Only Lucy was left in the end. She reasoned that Nora knew nothing. Or she was not even in a relationship with Jamie. She had never confessed to him. Penny had advised her to take things slow and be a good friend first.
And she was lucky to have friends with Penny. But she could not shake off Nora’s words even when they were so vague.
Lucy gritted her teeth and entered the room again.
“I am only doing this because I want to shut your mouth properly. Tell me, what do you know?” she screamed in a low voice as she scanned the room. But her eyes widened.
“You bitch!” Nora was not in the room. They have been guarding the room all this while to make sure Nora could not leave. They were even praising her guts to handle the room but the room was empty.
Window curtains sway in the night wind. Only then did Lucy notice that the window was open. It was on the ground floor. Leaving the room from the window was easy!
“Damn it!” Lucy walked toward the window and looked out. But she could not see a single soul. She cursed and left the room.
She knocked on a few adjacent rooms. The girls opened the door with groggy eyes. They looked confused, seeing Lucy standing at the door.
“What is it?” a girl scowled. “I was sleeping.” She rubbed her eyes and looked at her mobile screen. It was 3 a.m.
“Did Nora come to your room?” Lucy’s tired of holding her temper. But her impatience was still leaking. “Did you help that bitch?”

The girl frowned further.
“What the hell are you speaking about? I was sleeping and so were the other girls in my room. Do not knock again or I will file a complaint against you.” the girl warned before shutting the door again.
Nora gritted her teeth. She wanted to knock again and force her way in. but she knew they would complain about her. And Miss Megan had warned them to not disturb others or Nora would show her room and they would have to change rooms.
She could not be called no matter what happened. Lucy could only endure. She knocked a few other doors but the result was the same. The girls frowned and glared at her before shutting the door again.
“You bitch! Where the hell are you hiding!” Lucy felt more and more irked. After what Nora said, her hatred for Nora grew. She realized Nora had messed up with her. It all must be a lie.
“But where did she go?” she could not understand. She had already knocked almost every room on the same floor. If only, she had checked Nora’s room again.
